  1. I'm wondering if there are any healthy protien bars in the market that anyone suggest. I found some Adkins bars yesterday and thought they may work if only half was consumed but the reviews are not good.
  2. Wendyt I don't think I got a request from you.
  3. Redstacey you have most 100 since December? Wow. I though I was doing good by losing 54 since my dec surgery.
  4. I would see where this would be a concern. I have seen people have bypass that don't need to lose as much and they go slow or don't lose much at all. Then people that have a lot to lose go real fast. I think this surgery had a way of regulating. Or maybe the surgeon does. I would certainly share your concerns with him. I will tell you my MD told me they preformed a gastric bypass on a 9 month old baby due to diabetes and I'm sure that infant wasn't over weight. .
  5. Egg beaters are on my soft food diet. I made a homemade version of my baked potato soups one night. I cut up and boiled the potatoes a Until very soft. Drained off most the water added spray butter and low fat sour cream( of plain Greek yogurt will do) a small amount of skim milk. a little salt and pepper. It was so very good.
  6. Surgery 12/31/13. I'm so glad you brought this up. My skin is very dry. Then I dyed my hair last week and it's dry now also. I used the same product as always and it usual leaves my hair shiny but not this time.
  7. lol. Too funny.
  8. Mcmann1. Thank you so much for the welcome. I'm still trying to figure out the site. Hope to get to chat.
  9. Hello Everyone. I had surgery 12/31/13. I'm still having problems getting the proper protein and liquids. I'm now down 51 lbs but happening really slow now. I'm on fitness pal as bokay2014 and would love to keep in touch with anyone who wants to. My email is bokay@ hotmail. com. Also I'm in Texas. Whew. Any who. We are all on a journey to a new healthy us so have a great day, don't forget to smile.
  10. Curly. I'm interested to hear how it went. Congrats
  11. I was revised dec 31 and have lost 50 lbs. I'm also concerned about hearing being a slow loser with revision. The first 25 lbs came off in 8 days and the rest has been slower but so far I'm pleased. I'm trying to stay positive and I think sometimes we want it and want it NOW!!! Lol and have to focus on being healthy and not getting caught up with numbers. Just my thought for the day. Stay healthy and love yourself.
  12. I also had the realize band. First placed I. Oct 21 2009 the port flipped before I could get a film so it was fixed dec 30 2009. Before I could get a fill it flipped again and my dr stopped doing surgeries and moved two weeks after my second surgery. I went to a new dr and found out my band had been placed to far up and could. It be filled. Then the fight with the insurance began. Lol. Finally got my band removed and bypass done the same day this dec 31 2013. This is the first time I have heard about revisions making you lose slower. My dr or nutritionist never mentioned this. I'm 1 1/2 months out and have lost 50 lbs though so I'm happy. I did lose the first 25 in 8 days though. The last 10 have been very slow. Good luck to everyone.
  13. I had my band oct 21 2009 it flipped he did it again dec 30 2009. It flipped again by the next month. Dr quit doing surgeries and I went to another surgeon last year and had to do all the test over except the sleep study. Including seeing the nutritionist for 6 consecutive months and a new psych eval. I have bcbs and got my approval this dec and the band was removed dec 31 and bypass done at the same time. It can be done. Good luck everyone and hang in there.
  14. Hello all. I had my band removed and bypass done 12/31/13. I'm in brownwood Texas but had surgery in ft worth. I'm now 49 lbs down in just over a month. My email is bokay@ hotmail. Com and I'm also on fitness pal as bokay2014. Look forward to meeting new people who have also had WLS.
  15. Hi. I'm in brownwood Texas. I had surgery dec 31 2013 in ft worth.
  16. Your very inspiring. I'm one month out and seeing your pics made me smile for sure. Thank you.
  17. I would love to have some people on mine that have had WLS. I had a few that added me then asked me question about my food intake and made comments about me taking the easy way out. I was like really???
  18. I'm on fitness pal also. I don't know how to add ppl though. I'm bokay2014.
  19. All very good questions. Very interested in answers.
  20. I have wondered if anyone else has experienced a bad taste in your mouth. I brush and use mouth wash and it returns. The things taste strange to me. Lol. Everything seems to taste like mildew. Strange I think.
  21. I would be interested. My email is bokay@ hotmail. Com

As of today I'm 3 weeks post op. Also 3 weeks of non smoking. I smoked up to the night before. After surgery I was coughing up black. I made a promise not to smoke. I tell myself I did WLS to better my health but if I continue to smoke it seems useless. The second week the cravings were the worse. Three weeks now, they are much better but still a battle. Congrats to all who have stopped smoking and those who are trying. We got this!!!! My Love to all.

As I laid down last night in bed. I found not only my ribs but the little tab between my ribs at the top. I forget the name of it. A thought came to mind that if someone had to do CPR on me. It would be easier. Lol. Strange thought I know.
  24. Hello everyone. I have also tried to get into conversation in other threads and thought it was just me but only one person talked to me. Once. Lol. I had my band removed and the bypass done 12/31/13. How's that for a New Years celebration. Lol. My clear liquids was for 3 days then moved to full liquids until the 15 th day after surgery. It's strange how different dr's have somewhat different diets. But I feel we all have the same destination just the journey may vary. Good luck everyone.
