  1. Yeah that's the order we were advised to consume our food in as well. Have u had very few carbs because ur already full by the time u get to the carbs or do u just avoid them on ur own??
  2. Yes she told us that as well protein first then veggies and carbs last but I was really surprised I could consume carbs had I known this earlier it would have saved me from the food funerals.
  3. Loveit at least u visitor was pre-op I am expected to have her visit me around the day of my surgery. I cramp so bad during I'm questioning if I want to request meds to skip my cycle that month. Cringing at the thought of pain from surgery PLUS unbearable cramps....ughhhh
  4. What have u been advised about eating carbs after WLS? I was totally surprised when my NUT said we will not be eliminating any food groups and carbs was incorporated into the sample menus she provided to us. I thought based on what I've read Sleevers r eating after surgery that I would have to follow a lo carb diet. Now the carbs present on the sample menus were complex carbs but I was still in total shocked that starchy veggies and complex carbs was in versus out.....does this sound right?? What advice were u given about eating carbs post VSG???
  5. Very true. Family can sometimes not get the full picture. While some r actually supportive others think they r being supportive by telling us what we don't need to do and the if u would just do these things then you will be just fine u don't need no surgery...that statement I swear I was thinking the next clown that says that to me I'm gonna slap the living dog crap out of them lol. If I didn't need the help of the sleeve and could do it all on my own then I wouldn't be morbidly obese doing this surgery dang it!!! Lmbo people r funny. I've made total peace with MYYYYY choice to have WLS and those who don't like oh well build a bridge and get over it. Seriously I started this journey totally focused on weight loss but I've learned so much about me so yes I definitely want to and need to lose weight but most of all I want to live FREE!! Free to do what I want, shop where I want, and engage in any activity I want without being limited because of my size or health condition caused by my being obese. This board totally rock and Im so happy we r all here for one another sharing this journey together.
  6. I am sooooo dreading the stinking pre-op diet. My plan is ALL liquid no light meal yikes my poor husband have to deal with his cranky wife and a cranky 22 year old daughter at the same time rotflmbo. I guess we could have been sleeved on a different day but nope we wanted to do it together. When's ur surgery? I love vitamin water zero and powerade zero so far it hasn't hindered my weight loss this far but I haven't been sleeved yet.
  7. Congrats to you! I think we all feel that way lol. What day?
  8. Hey there I'm doing well! Went to my group nutrition class which was about lifestyle and diet before and after surgery. Was very informational appointment. I have to do a FULL liquid diet no 1 meal a day for me even though others have been allowed to by their surgeon but each surgeon can be different. On the sleeve vs bypass this is strictly my opinion whichever WLS u choose is a personal decision between u and ur surgeon based on ur unique situation. Bypass may be a better option for some but not everyone and this goes for the sleeve, bypass, band, switch, and any other WLS. In regards to weigh loss and the ability to gain it back if we don't work our tool weight gain is a great possibility. Now for me I'm not putting my body through holy hell to have this major surgery if I'm not willing to make the lifestyle changes. None of these interventions or surgeries are a magical fix they r tool that we have to actually use and work at to help us not only lose the weight but to also become healthier beings. Weight loss is a huge plus but we also have to focus on the wealth of other benefits we are getting not just the weight loss. I don't knock anyone choice of WLS I just suggest u do the research, know urself, be open with ur surgeon and pick the best surgical procedure for u. We r all in this together and here to support one another regardless of which procedure we decide to have.

  11. Sounds good let's keep in touch.
  12. Excited and scared at the same time. All in all I'm ready to be a sleever.
  13. No date yet just the preliminaries. ..Dr after dr but happy everyone is in the same month. Yes ma'am and copay after copay but in the end it's allllll worth it. Anything worth having we gotta work for it or we won't truly appreciate it. Just think after jumping through all these hoops being on a constant emotional roller coaster and all that comes with having the surgery I couldn't imagine throwing all this hard work away by not doing what I'm supposed to post operatively. Hang in there and let us know when u get ur date.
  14. Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much sugar. I am a recovering sugar carb addict before going into recovery (6 month supervised diet) I would probably be licking my lips rubbing my hands together at the sound of 26grams of sugar lmbo.....just kidding but seriously that's a lot of sugar and I think you could find one u really like without that much sugar. Premier Protein,
  15. I was required to do a thallium stress test and an echo. Pricey testing but to ensure my heart is ok for surgery I was ok with it. I can see where u would feel the way u do just know it better to have additional testing done verses not enough. It's ok just consider it be safer than sorry later. Best of luck to you. When is ur surgery scheduled?
  16. You look amazing good job!
  17. Lucy r u on the liquid diet right now?? If so how's that going?
  18. Today is ur big day!! We r all cheering for u...keep us posted.
  19. 125lbs that's awesome. Congrats to you!! I know this new issue isn't any fun and I'm hoping they figure it out soon. With having the new issue related to the surgery if u had it to do all over again would u do it??
  20. We are all cheering for you today.
  21. So sorry to hear this happened to u! Hopefully between ur cardiologist and ur surgeon they can get to the root of this. An adjustment to ur heart meds may be what's needed.
  22. Allen it's totally normal to be feel nervous. This is a big day we all look forward to yet we have so many fears as well. Everything will be just fine. I'm sending skinny vibes ur way. Keep us posted.
  23. I didn't get a chocolate with mines that I recall. I received Banana, strawberry, orange cream, and vanilla. I wonder if I should have received a chocolate one?? I shake mines in plain Water and love it. I find that I enjoy the flavor far greater over blending it which to me altered the taste some. By chance did u blend it or shake it? Sorry it wasn't tasty for u. I didn't order a sample pack from their website, but rather ordered individual samples from nashuanutrition.com. I mixed it with water and shake it in my shaker bottle. It's all good! I've always been very sensitive to artificial sweeteners so it is really going to take a miracle to find a Protein that doesn't have that taste to me lol. I stumbled upon that site on accident. I liked the fact I could try different things without purchasing the entire pack if I didn't want to. I plan to order samples of nectar off there.
  24. My goal was to be 230 I missed it by 3lbs ughhh!! 2/13 239lbs 3/3 237.9 lbs 3/10 235.9lbs 3/17 233.5 lbs Even though I missed my goal by 3lbs I'm happy with my consistent progress. Thanks Bea for arranging these challenges.
  25. Thank you for sharing. I am always filled to the brim with joy reading everyone's success stories and I am constantly sharing the info with my hubby. Well he said to me all this is great dig around and show me some of the complications people are having postoperatively. It seems there isn't a ton of complications but as with any surgery people are and have complications. Some minor others life altering. I find Im using that info to be informed but I must admit it scares the bageezies out of me at times but I'm trusting in God that I'm going to be just fine.
