  1. It was 3 months on Thursday since my surgery. I am now down 78 lbs! Everyone is different, but I have had no stalls or setbacks. I don't follow all the rules. Yes, I've had alcohol, yes, I drink carbonated drinks, yes, I drink caffiene daily. I'm not saying tjis is the right way to do it, this is just the way I've done it. Yes, I drink with my meals. It's real simple, I just can't eat or drink as much of anything as I used to. I walk a couple miles a couple days a week, but other than that, I just try to live as normal as possible
  2. Sleeved jan 16. Pre-surgery weight was 284. This morning I was at 219. So I'm losing quite a bit, but I have been feeling very lethargic the last 4 or 5 days. Anyone else having very low energy?
  3. I have been on the Internet reading so many recommended different postop diets And I don't know which one I want to go with. I know the pat answer is whatever your doctor tells you to do, but I had my surgery in Mexico. They emailed one I'm sure they got off the Internet. See if the below diet sounds reasonable to everyone: I did Clear liquids for two days after the surgery. I was going to stay on full liquids for two weeks. Then I was going to go to purée for a week. And Then go to soft foods for a week. Then slowly introduce solid foods into my diet. Does this sound reasonable and safe to most of you guys?
  4. Do you think that's a good number to stay at for the first four weeks or so after surgery? Should it higher or lower?

    600 calories?

Am I wrong or is it probably easier to get more calories now because soup slides through your system faster than solid food will in a few weeks?

    600 calories?

I can actually get in 600 without too much trouble. I drink the gladiator shake for 180 then work on a can of soup for an hour at lunch and the same around supper.
  7. I've heard a few people say they just chew a couple of Flintstone Completes a day. Is it okay to do this In place of the B12 and other vitamins we are supposed to be taking? Or do you have to take these in addition to those?

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

4 days post op. feeling great, went to work today. I know that seems soon but I mainly just drive around and talk on the phone for my job. I had a protein shake this morning and Some tomato soup here in a few minutes. This will basically be the first time I've eaten in over a week. I didn't like the broth so I basically just kept drinking water for the last week. Almost no soreness at all. Down 24 pounds including preop diet.with Dr. Elias Ortiz, this is been so easy it almost scares me.

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

I am less than 24 hours out of surgery. I am honestly walking around, drinking Gatorade, feeling fine. Dr. Ortiz is the best. My P is funny colors, but everything else seems normal. My leak test went fine, and I'm going to the Marriott tomorrow. I can't believe how easy this actually was.

  13. This may be a silly question, but can I just drain cans of chicken noodle soup for my chicken broth. Actual chicken broth out of a can is almost tastless, Whereas the juice from chicken noodle soup tastes pretty good. Wanted to know before I did it, don't want to be cheating

Things I will NOT miss about being fat.

I like this list. I'm a guy. Let me give a list from that perspective: 1. Having to be the funny one in the group 2. Making fat jokes at my own expense, because that's what I feel like people are thinking anyway. 3.Wearing suspenders under my shirt, so I don't have to pull up my pants all day long 4. Praying I won't need the extension on the plane 5. Trying to spot people fatter than me to make myself feel better 6. Never eating at a work lunch to avoid judgement, Be it real or imagined 7. Being the fattest dad at the ballgame 8. Worrying that my kids and wife are embarrassed by me
