  1. Thanks!! You're right!! Positive thoughts,= positive words= positive actions = positive results!! perspective!
  2. Apparently...this hasn't even been approved yet through them?!? I'm so lost...I thought that's what they do 1st thing!!! Get approval!!!
  3. Well...I hit my first problem with my insurance company!! I guess I thought all this stuff was taken care of between the drs office and the ins. Company....well...I guess not!! My ins. Company has now requested my weight for the last 5 years...not a big deal except...my surgery is next Tuesday and my multiple drs are located in tulsa and I now live in NY!! Deep breaths...it will all work out!
  4. Do you think the drs and nurses help to calm you? When I was there doing the admission papers n nurse consulting I began to feel better...now as for my actual day... Idol yet but...I'm hoping I feel good about it when I am there.
  5. I've had those thoughts too...but I think we are making the right decision. We want to be here for our kids and families... We want a good quality if life and we want to teach by examples. We CAN do this!!! Chin up! Stay strong! I'll be needing this pep talk next Sunday! K? K!
  6. Feb 4th 1:15pm!! Have to be there at 9:15!!
  7. Amazing job!!! hope I look that good when I loose too!
  8. Oh my goodness!!! 5 months in the hospital?!?
  9. I'm sitting in the hospital right now waiting to do all the pre-admin stuff...talk about freaking out!! I too am so scared. I am honestly not afraid of the lifestyle change as I've been ok with the low cal diet and excersise routine in the past. I just would loose about 30-40 lbs and never go beyond there... What's making me so scared is the actual surgery itself. I've never had a surgery before....I'm scared of being put to sleep, not waking up, complications, pain!! I don't know if these things are too taboo to talk about here but...I too am needing a little support and encouragement and I so understand where you are coming from.
  10. I have the most wonderfully supportive husband...and other than 1 of my kiddos being really worried about it..the most supportive family. My mom, step dad and brothers know...I tried to tell my dad and step mother but...was met with my father ignoring me and my stepmother telling me how her sister had it and put all the weight back on...it was just a big waste of money. (That feels great) I finally got up the courage to tell 2 of my closest friends. And they both have been supportive. Other than that...I believe I'm done for now. If someone were to ask me point blank...I don't think I'd lie... But at the same time the fear of what others will think of me...really gets to me.
  11. I am having gastric bypass...my surgeon told me to just becareful...and never to drive. One drink will be like 3-4... Which I say yay to!
  12. Hi there!! I have dr. Dalencourt who is a surgeon with dr. Graber. He has been very good to work with! I have researched him, and have found only good things. He is very personable and caring. Even took time out to come visit me during my nut appointment on my 2nd visit. I went to seminar and consult in dec 11, scheduled my surgery on dec 31, having it done feb 4. It all depends on your ins. Requirements. Mine, fortunately, had none. Are you going to cuse or Utica? I'm going to utica...both are about the same distance from me though.
  13. Congrats!! Are they managing your pain? I hope so! When you are up to it please share your experience if you feel like it. so excited for you!
  14. Anybody heard from anyone who had surgery today?
  15. Meems...that was beautiful post! I share an issue with having always put others needs before mine...and now having a bit of guilt about putting mine on the forefront. But I keep reminding myself...this IS for them too! Life with us will be better! We will be examples of portion control and healthy choices and what taking care of ourselves looks like!! Best wishes
  16. Best wishes Kcamp and all you others headed in tomorrow!! Keep is all posted on how you are doing!!
  17. Awesome info!! Thank you!!
  18. What would cause this? Is this something that has a tendency to occur with wls?
  19. If you don't mind me asking...what is a stricture?
  20. Surgery date of Feb 4th here!! Just finished all my preop stuff including..psych, nutritionist, pcp, and labs! Registration for the hospital on the 23rd! It...just feels so unreal. I'm scared but excited too...but did I say scared??? Yeah that!
  21. My surgery is February 4th. I went to see my pcp, nutrition and the psychiatrist yesterday! All went well and I'm clear for surgery. Registration on the 23rd! I got to see my surgeon for a few mins yesterday and he remembered me and visited with me for a bit...that put me at ease a bit. I just need to keep my fears in check !
  22. Kcamp.....I'm so sorry. This part definitely stinks!! Here's to better tomorrow's!
