So far so good no pain, gas, or nausea .....knock on wood Just happy for something with a lil texture. Do u know when we can eat lettuce, a lady at my job is 2 yrs post op and still can't eat it When is the nxt meeting
  2. Sorry I didn't get to go, I got stuck at wk. so how was the meeting? Was it fun? Also I'm on a stall now, no wt loss in several days. A lil disappointing. I was regaling in one support group this guy had surgery in the 19tg of dec and has lost 51 lbs...that's twice what I have lost and he only 1 day a head of me...guess that's the difference in men and women..... I have to keep telling myself it's not a race it's a journey
  3. Barefeet that is so awesome and amazing! So happy for you !!! I know that was a huge relief for you
  4. Did any of you all have to have plastic surgery? I wonder if insurance will cover any skin removal? I'm on a budget
  5. You all just look so amazing! I'm just getting started I'm 2.5 wks out and I hope I have the success that you all have had. All are of you are so inspirational! For me My biggest fear is that I want lose very much or just stall after a mo or too.
  6. I had my surgery on 12/20/13 and they repaired my h hernia. I had no problems or can even tell they operated on it
  7. Hi Brooke, I used dr Kim's office and I have BCBS they had my approval with in 2 wks of me finishing my classes and all the test needed before surgery. Because of BCBS I had to use dr Holden at Baylor trophy club. Keep in mind the insurance specialist are pros at knowing these policies and how they work and the required documentation that will be needed for approval process. I'm sure you will have your approval soon and May will be here in the blink of an eye. Time flys by. The morning of my surgery I was pleasantly surprise to learn that dr Kim would be assisting dr holding on my surgery. Made me feel good and at ease to know I had two of the best dr in area doing my surgery. And because he really is the face of Kim baratrics. In my opinion they are excellent surgeons, I personally had no complications or pain. And Baylor nursing dept and dr where all so nice and treated me and my husband so kindly. The best of luck to you! And it does help to have local buddies. I will be working out at LOA fitness it's an all women gym located off hardwood and 121 rt next to the KFC (ironic- lol). I think it's Bedford or maybe Euless. I have no wk out buddies and would welcome anyone who would like to go .
  8. I had my band in 01/05 and to me it was very painful the first 4 days. I have a very low tolerance for pain. I had my revision on 12/20/13 and it was painless, hardly any pain, I was a little tender on left side for abt two to three days. I was really nervous abt the pAin w the sleeve. I had watch several u tube videos..some said no pain and others said worst pain in their life. So I wasn't really sure what to think. I was really scared but went ahead with it. When I came to I couldn't believe that it didn't hurt. I was pleasantly surprised and oh so relieved. No my only problems was EXTREME nausea and Diarrhea... My diarrhea has stop and the nausea not quiet as bad. Good luck in your venture
  9. I'm going to try and make it too if I'm off wk in time
  10. Is this at his office? Do you have to have an appt?
  11. I know the feeling when I went in per op I was 256.5 and when I came Hm from hosp I was 263! Went up 7 lbs... From 263 I've lost 16 lbs as of yesterday . But today I went up 1.5 lbs feeling a lil discourage. I also watch a lot of u tube videos and a lot of the ppl had lost 100+ lbs by 6-8 mos . If I could do that I would be so happy..... I certainly plan on hitting the gym as soon as I can Also, I plan on finding some healthy recipes. Of course bring from Texas I enjoy food and cook like a Texan so I have to stop that habit and change my whole life style.. Once we get to start eating normal food we need to start a receipe section.
  12. RJ THANK YOU FOR RESPONSE! I look forward to following your progress. I wish you the best I of luck!
  13. Rj You are a walking miracle. You have stayed positive thru all of your trials and tribulations. You truly inspire me. I hope to have an outlook and attitude as you do thru my journey. ( I've read several of your post and comments) May I ask you some questions? If so, my questions are below How long after surgery did you start having complications? are you able to eat now? Do you exercise yet? Are you feeling better? How long are you post op now? Where did you have your surgery? And your surgeons name? Are you in the Dallas area ?
  14. Btw yesterday was another good day it was day 3 on anti acid and I had no nausea and minimal diarrhea. I guess the anti acid makes a difference
  15. Thank you for responding. I'm two wks out and pretty much feel great. I'm on insulin so I'm sure it take me a little longer to heal. My blood sugars are great since surgery
  16. Barefeet, that's cool we were probably on same floor I was in rm 217... We will defiantly have to keep in touch and track our progress. My biggest fear is I wasn't loose the wt or have some crazy complication.
  17. How long can one get leaks after surgery? At anytime? Years down the road? Just curious. I had my surgery on the 20th and it makes me nervous
  18. So sorry for your loss. You are right, her voice needs to be heard. She was a beautiful young women. My thought and prayers are with you and your family.
  19. Congrats. I hope I can do as well as you are.
  20. Thank you! Don't worry it will fall off you. Especially now that you are getting back to your regular routine
  21. Btw yesterday was my second day on anti acid and yesterday was the first day I had no nausea
  22. Good luck tomorrow! I hope you feel better soon. We sound like we are having the same issues and going thru the same experience. I'm this will pass shortly and we will both be feeling great
  23. That is awesome! You motivation will reward you in the long run! I bet working out pre op will help the recovery time too. Congrats and the best of luck to you
  24. Thank you yes he gave me a list of over the counter ones and I got the chewable precid. I tolerate gator aid well. I'm afraid I'm dehydrated. My skin is so dry and my forehead had wrinkled. Everyday I find I'm taking in a lil moe water so hopefully I'll get rehydrated.
