  1. Cherbear, too funny! Lol... Glad ur doing so well!!
  2. Oh music! Once again u have shared some GREAT info!!! Ty. I would have never thought about how to measure my progress!
  3. I totally relate to this! I'm 2 times the size of my daughters and it is frustrating to have to pack a suitcase and I can't get half the crap in it that they can. I totally understand that frustration! But like you... I'm hoping I can get lots of weight off and buy tons of new stuff with lots of sparkle! Lo
  4. Let me just say this! I did the same thing.... stumbled across the app when I was looking for bariatric apps for my Iphone. It has been the best thing in the WORLD for me! I am CONSTANTLY reading if I am awake! LOL There are so many nice people that are here to support us, educate us, and sometimes just listen to our rants! This is a wonderful place to make friends, and know there will always be someone here that understands where we are and what we are going thru!! Hope to keep in touch and read more about ya!
  5. Katie, Even if you did stretch your pouch a lil bit.... you can still go back to the "diet" the dr gave you. In time your pouch should return to small. If you think of it this way.... before you had the surgery.... if you got the flu and you couldnt keep anything down for a while... your stomach automatically shrinks and doesnt hold as much as it did pre-flu. Right? Im GUESSING that if you go back to the diet you were given and follow it to the T.... your pouch should be ok. I havent had my surgery yet.... but have read more than you will ever imagine.... LOL .... and try to offer support when ever I can. I hope this rant was helpful. The point I was trying to make.... is you are going to have to get back on track and it isnt going to be easy but Im here if you need to talk!!
  6. Wow that would feel like an eternity! I hate that I am waiting 9 mos. I just filled out my initial "new bariatric patient"paper work. Felt weird tho cause he has already done surgery on me before..... and I adored him! LOL
  7. If this was me.... (And only me)..... I would prob wait til the surgery was done and ur at home recovering on ur own time, and then wait for th to call.... I'd just say, oh btw this is what I had done and down play it so that it's no big deal. And I would prob tell them that the dr doesn't want u exposed to a lot of people cause of the risk of germs and infection. Tell them u will call them once you heal enough to be around people. they sound like my grandparents Before they passed away...I'd just overly stress no visitors til you are ready... And that buys you some time to heal, not be stressed out by the craziness and maybe just enjoy some YOU time! You deserve it and need it.
  8. I think the stalls for me will be the hardest part. It's a mind game and I know I'm no good at stalling. In the past when that happened I just gave up on my diets, so since this isn't something u can just give up.... I'm worried I will be too hard on myself when the stalls occur.
  9. I think my problem is going to be missing my lemonade, Pepsi, and chips! All things that got me where I am!
  10. I just think that getting to my surgery date is going to seem like an eternity. I pray I don't just get frustrated and give up!
  11. That's my fear.... I have always slept with fans on and windows open. (Yes even in the ohio winters) and I am always hot.... I can't imagine always being cold. Wonder if that happens I a lot of people as they lose the weight?
  12. I totally love this! You will be rockin a smokin hot bod come summer!!!
  13. Hahahaha these were great to read!! I can't wait to join y'all on the losers bench.
  14. I have been heavy since my 2nd child in 1998. I used to play sports and was always the athlete of the family.... Now I'm the one my dad uses as the example as to why my sisters need to "watch their weight so they don't end up like me". I can't wait to lose my weight, get my life and health bak, and really make em all eat their words! I really wanna play softball again! I miss that. It was what I did to relieve frustration.
  15. I'm so glad ur doing so well! I wondered how you were. Glad to hear u can finally eat something. that has to make u happy. Keep up the good work and keep me posted on how you are doing. I watch the boards constantly ... Lol always wanting to learn more.
  16. I think the last time I was a size 10 Was in 1998 right after my (now 15 yrs old) daughter was born! I got preg wearing a 12 and left the hosp a size 10.... It was a rough pregnancy and I was always sick!
  17. Buff, so glad everything turned out ok. How are u doing? How's the weight loss coming!!
  18. I can't wait to see the progress and I haven't seen a size 8 in 10 yrs! My goal weight is about 120... Not sure what size I'd be then!! Lol
  19. Wow! That's great! Can't wait to see ur progress pics!!
  20. No I have hoops to jump thru for my insurance. It's craziness... 6 mos of weigh ins, psych appt, nut appt, and meet a dietician. Then have all my blood work and labs done! But hey I'm all for it.
  21. Momma fine!!! That is AMAZING! I hope to be a total success like you. You give me lots of hope! Ty for sharing....
  22. O as I'm sitting here thinking of what I am most anxious to buy after I lose my weight... I am also wondering what YOU are anxious to buy? For my personal "reward" to myself... I am anxious to buy new shorts and sleeveless shirts for summer time! If I hit goal weight in winter, I will be so excited to buy a pair of skinny jeans and new boots! That's my reward to myself!! Is it bad that I am already thinking about rewards for hitting goal? I'm also thinking that every 6 mos that I stay at goal.... I'll treat myself to a new outfit (as I will surely need em!) and on the yr mark... I will get a new pair of shoes!! Thinking I might have a great reward system for myself!
  23. Congrats!!!! I am so happy for u! Totally love the boots idea.
  24. Christi ... That's fantastic! I'm so happy for u that it's going so well for u!! I hope mine goes that well when it's time!!
  25. Daisy, I was wondering the same thing.... Wondering what ever became of it?
