  1. Hi, I was banded on 12/19/13 and you sound just like I did! It will be fine, I promise! I was a nervous wreck , then had several bad experiences, trouble getting I've going, woke up after surgery thinking I was having a heart attack, it was gas ! Then real bad reaction to the anesthetic , nauseated for days and puking! I cried to my husband what in the hell did I do to myself!, Lol, I was one in 10,000 to have this many problems I think! All in all you just have to remember as Jesus said "And this to shall pass". Lol today I'm fine, down 19 #', still adjusting to the band life , learning how to eat all over again, what I can and can't eat, remembering to take little bites, chew chew chew and drink that WATER, I was never a water drinker, but boy howdy I am now it makes all the difference! You can do it, it will be worth it! Just keep thinking about all the good that will come out of a few days of not so much fun! Stock up,on Gas-X strips and a heating pad will help too! Remember also laying on your left side helps a whole lot too really gets rid of the gas! Think positive you can do this!
  2. I was banded on the 19th and still having major issues with gas, I've had several BM's but very little gas so aggravating and painful! Definitely going to get me gas x strips, I've tried everything else! Think I'm going to get my hubby to gets those hands busy on my back too! At this point Ill try anything! Good luck to you, and I hope it all eases up! Nothing worse than hurting when you are trying to improve your quality of health!
  3. Well I made it y'all ! Was quite a ride but I think the worst is over! Had surgery at 10:00 am Thursday, waking up in recovery I thought I was having a heart attack, the pains in my chest were awful they ran all the test to make sure it wasn't , it was gas! That was the worst experience ever ! I had to spend the night, they had to fix my hiatal hernia before he could band me. Didn't get any rest the entire hospital stay. I stayed nauseated the entire time too which I think was gas and ended up vomiting about 3 times. It was a rough go, I spent my hospital time sipping water, walking, resting over and over, they finally brought me a suppository so I could get things moving and get home , success!! I got home and the nausea and vomiting got worse so another day of sipping water , walking around the house and resting. I would get this awful burning sensation in my tummy every time I would sip water which really scared me , I couldn't even keep water down! I just laid in bed and bawled! Well day 4 is here and so far so good, just a tad nauseated and the burning sensation is pretty much gone. Water is staying down, even took a couple sips of coffee this morning! Yay!! So I pray the worst is over and it is all an upward climb now! One good thing is I am down 10# since I started pre-op liquid diet. My belly is just a slight bit sore, the worst out of all of it was getting sick! So thanks for all of the thought and prayers y'all I am officially a Bandita now, yay!

  7. Okay what is a stone? I'm so confused, this is the second post I have seen stating about stones!
  8. I am day 8 of 10 of the pre-op liquid diet, on mine I have been eating cream soups, yogurt, cottage cheese, meal replacement shakes that are high on protein, sugar free pudding made with skim milk, and lots of sugar free jello! It is getting easier with each day and I am glad because when you factor in post surgery that is quite a stretch without anything solid! What a journey, excited to see the results!
  9. I'm right here with ya, mine is scheduled for the 19th !
  10. I wish you luck, I am scheduled at 7:30 on the 19th! So I will be right here with you on this journey! For me this 10 day liquid diet is awful, what I would do for something to chew on! Lol
  11. Hi everyone! Found this blog in hopes to calm my nerves! Surgery set for 12/19/2013 , 2 more days! On my 10 pre-op diet and have had urges to kill for something good to bite into! How am I going to make it after surgery! Though I have lost 5 # on this liquid diet which is incentive for sure. Just wondering how much of a life change this will be! I love my food, just hate what it has done to me, made me FAT! Will I ever be able to go out to dinner with my ever so slim and trim husband of 36 years again? Will I ever be able to eat real food again? I know that I have to lose the weight, it has caused me diabetes , high high cholesterol , bad knees, bad feet ( plantar fasciitis ) ! But the idea of something being inside me the rest of my life is spooky! I am 59 years old know, what will it be like when I am 80? Okay okay, I admit I am just soooooo nervous! I hate surgery, well really just being put under is the worst! I just have to keep telling my self it is not a choice but a necessity if I want to live to see my grandkids grow!
