  1. If you are vomiting you need to call your doctor! Pronto!
  2. Yea! Glad it helped. My gas was gone immediately. And I never had any pain.
  3. I am 3 months post op and I am usually not hungry until 2 pm. My bad eating seems to happen at night with Girl Scout cookies as of lately! I have had some serious "taste" changes since my surgery. I don't seem to "like" the same foods I used to. Very strange.
  4. Well I only need to take one a month. I have painful ovulation. So just once a month shouldn't hurt me.
  5. I was never asked to take a nutrition class nor have a seen a nutritionist. Is this required with most surgeons?
  6. My boyfriend did sharp short medium hard taps on my back and I had zero gas back pain.
  7. Karate type fast chopping and tapping on the back and shoulders gets it out super fast!
  8. I have been using WEN. My hair has thickened up in the last year, and I do think the WEN has helped. I am sticking to it for now. Added Biotin to my daily routine. Hope it doesn't fall out! I haven't been counting calories or Protein grams. I guess I should. YIKES!
  9. Katie, you are so sweet. I am 45 years young!!! I wish I would have done this in my 20's when I started this gaining process. I haven't had anything get "stuck" yet nor have I had anything "come up". This concerns me. Maybe I am not tight enough? Or maybe a whew A LOT and make good food choices. Either way, I am terrified of vomiting. Yesterday was a bad food day for me. I started off with a can of Amy's organic mushroom Soup, then 2 hours later was 3/4 of a ham and cheese sandwich, followed by a cheese and spinach manicotti, then around 6 I ate a small piece of boneless skinless chicken thigh, then I could't sleep so some girl scout Cookies jumped in the game around midnight. A VERY bad day. Today will be different. Starting off with fresh green juice (Organic cold pressed) delivered from Juice Girl. I will not repeat yesterday.
  10. My hair dresser has several other clients who had WLS, and she warned me over and over about this problem. So far I have been using WEN for a year. I was just banded 12/16/13. She says my hair is thicker, fuller and more healthy than this time last year. I am hoping the WEN will keep working it's magic and help me hold onto my hair!
  11. That's a question for your doctor. I would call to confirm.
  12. Can we take Advil? Dr said no aspirin. Any answers?
  13. Katie, what do you mean by throwing up? Full on vomiting?
  14. I am 3 months post op now and 3 fills. I have not gotten stuck yet or spit up. I can eat what ever I want, but I don't. I avoid all breads and pastas. I focus on meat, veggies and sometimes cheese. I lose about 5-6 lbs a month. I do not consume artificial sweeteners at all. I only drink water and matcha tea. I have heard that artificial sweeteners can trick your metabolism.
  15. My nurse offered an rx cream to prevent scarring.
  16. If you are on clear liquids you can broth.
  17. After surgery I didn't have a bowel movement for 7 days due to the pain meds. Constipation is a big side effect.
  18. Had to give in and go buy new bras. Why is it the boobs are the first to go? Went from a DDD cup to a C.
  19. Like I saw someone post on here ( it cracked me up!). "The lap band is not going to jump out of your body and SLAP that piece of fried chicken out of your hand!" Lol. We have to make good choices. But we also need to be able to "live" with our choices. I can't "live" with Pre packaged processed diet foods! I spent 2 years in culinary school. I, personally, believe in REAL food. It may have real butter in it and not margarine. It may have organic coconut oil instead of processed vegetable oil. I tend to count chemicals before I count calories. But that is just me.
  20. I was a complete starving raging bitch for 10 days, then I made a huge pot of paula deens chicken noodle soup with no noodles. Home made, gave me something to do, and I didn't worry about the ingredients bc it was all real food. No carbs. Puréed my servings before I ate, and I was feeling so much better! Didn't weigh for a week. I was fine. I lost. Some weeks are better than others, but this is a long time journey and commitment. After the healing phase of being starving and being so sick of sweet protein drinks, this soup saved my marriage, so to speak. Lol. I was finally satisfied with what I put in my stomach. It wasn't a "diet" meal, but my thoughts are everything in moderation, where as before being banded, that did not exist. I was banded 12/16/13. I am down 35 lbs since surgery. February I lost maybe 4 lbs. the loss fluctuates. And I will eat a bite of chocolate every now and then, and a piece of pizza every now and then. Everyone needs to find their comfort zone. It's important to ME not to feel deprived or like I am on "another diet". I allow myself a bit more freedom than most people with the band. At least I think that by what I read here. Don't make yourself miserable over this by thinking you have to live up to others expectations. Be realistic. Like everyone says, you didn't gain it over night, and you won't lose it over night. Just be happy, and proud that you made this decision to better your life, and go with it. You can do if! And always listen to your doctor!
  21. You will feel starving until they tighten your band. You are in the healing stage. It's the worst time. But keep your eye on the prize. It gets better!
  22. I was never able to finish a whole protein shake. I just put it back in the frige and would wait an hour to finish it.
  23. I have had 3 fills. First one was 1/2 cc, then 1 cc, than another 1 cc.
