  1. Yes. Not a lot. But better than nothing. When I looked into self pay a couple years ago I was told about $800 reimbursement. You should call ahc and find out what you need to do.
  2. No sources are given. The divorce rate in general is high. I divorced because my husband was a man whore. That was 15 years ago. I was normal sized then. Gained a lot of weight with the divorce and depression. He has over the years tried to get back with me many times. I'm sure he is dying now that I am normal sized again. Haha. Sucks to be him.
  3. What part of canada? I'm in southern alberta.
  4. I take no offense. The truth hurts.
  5. Over this weekend I have done some shopping. Tops in size medium and two size small. Nice to able to shop in those sizes because there is so much more variety than in plus sizes. Also took in some clothes that were too big. Great weekend. I am 23 lbs to goal weight so maybe one more round of mending and shopping before I stabilize.
  6. That's great Vicki. I am a slow loser as well. Keep up the great work. We all know how much effort it takes.
  7. The only thing that held me back initially was that it wasn't previously covered by my provincial health care plan. I finally decided to self pay and then discovered that by then it was covered by my health plan. So I decided to jump through the hoops and have it done for free rather than spend $15000. It all worked out perfectly.
  8. I have found for myself that my weight "stalls" for two or three weeks then drops for several days in a row by several pounds. That's how my body rolls. You will figure out your body's way of dealing as well. It just takes times. Doesn't matter if you weigh every day or not. It just matters that you keep with it and it will come off in the end. It's the frustration that gets us at the inbetween phase.
  9. Same question. What would you figure minimum time off? I also have a desk job. I took six days off for my gastric bypass.
  10. Happy for you. It will be worth it in the end. I'm hoping to have plastics next year.
  11. Congrats. You look fantastic. I am also down 85 lbs and it's made an amazing difference in both my health and my self esteem.
  12. It's a bit tedious to connect the two apps but once you do it works great.
  13. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Gastric bypass jan 21/14. Down 87lbs total so far. It has seriously changed my life.
  14. As far as peanut butter toast. I found this great quinoa bread. High protein. And yummy.
  15. Do you mean while in hospital? Trust me. It's not an issue. You feel like shit. Who cares if you smell a bit.
  16. I am 5 months post op gastric bypass. I still do not get hungry. I am learning the new feeling of full but still mostly go by how much food I eat. You just have to be sure you eat regularly.
  17. Cheesecake! Lucky for me our local cheesecake restaurant burned down last year. They replaced it with a different restaurant so I'm good.
  18. I took six days off. I have a desk job where I could easily eat and drink during the day.
  19. Naturally skinny people have all sorts of advice for us. It's simple they say. Eat less and exercise. Well yes it is easy to say but not to do. When you are obese and have no energy to exercise and have a food addiction. It's like telling smokers to just stop smoking.
  20. I went off cymbalta after surgery in January. Recently went back on though. Serious stress going on and I'm not coping well.
  21. Your tastes change dramatically after surgery. Everything seems so sweet to me. Don't miss pop at all.
  22. Time for update pics. First one is Aug 2013. Highest weight of 250lbs. Second one is today 165lbs. 85lbs gone. 25lbs to goal weight. Happy with my success so far.
  23. Yes thanks for the info. I always said I would never go to Mexico for surgery but I am now considering it. Have some bills to pay off first but maybe within a year I will be ready. And I am only 26lbs to goal weight so it's coming. 9k sounds very reasonable. But I haven't had any consult done here yet.
