  17. I have BCBS of IL with my school district as a high school teacher. There was no insurance requirement to wait any set number of months. However, my program requires 3 months of visits with surgeon, nutritionist, other dr releases, and medical exams. I started this process in Feburary with the bariatric seminar and have my final appointment on June 2. I have been scheduled for surgery either June 26 or July 2, depending on insurance approval. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. Like you, I started years ago (2015), got to the end of process, and got denied by my insurance. I started in another district in January 2019 and immediately began the wls process when I found out I had coverage with my new insurance. Im scheduled for RNY either June 26 or July 2. I'm a 42 year old high school teacher, so I'll be spending my summer break recovering/ enjoying my new life.
  19. So far on my journey, I have given up sugar, alcohol, caffeine, and most recently, my e-cig... I'm honestly shocked that i haven't already seriously hurt somebody in my house! LOL
  20. I'm scheduled for either June 26 or July 3 (depending on insurance approval). My birthday is July 29, so I'll still be getting myself together on my birthday. I'll definitely be in recovery on the 4th of July!
  21. I gave up smoking many years ago and gave up vaping 0 mg at the start of my journey in February. But I'm just curious... I know that we're not supposed to smoke or vape prior to surgery. I've also heard that even 0 mg nicotine vape isn't allowed either. Does 0mg contain any nicotine? If not, why isn't it allowed? Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
