I gave up smoking many years ago and gave up vaping 0 mg at the start of my journey in February. But I'm just curious...

I know that we're not supposed to smoke or vape prior to surgery. I've also heard that even 0 mg nicotine vape isn't allowed either. Does 0mg contain any nicotine? If not, why isn't it allowed?

Nicotine causes marginal ulcers and slowed wound healing in bariatric patients. If you are vaping without nicotine, it won't have anymore of an adverse effect on you than it would someone who never had the surgery. There's still not much data on whether or not the chemicals in the vape juice are harmful when taken into the lungs. The medical community can only say emphatically that nicotine will break down the internal suture points especially in a gastric bypass patient causing ulcers and leakage.

With all that said, I enjoyed vaping but did feel like I had pneumonia all the time. I'm pretty sure it's risky behavior and like any vice, if I started up again I would be gambling with my health. Good luck with your choice.

You should not do it before the surgery I think. I have a question about how you managed to give up vaping? I used vape to give up smoking, but now I am really addicted to vape. My vape was broken and I had to get a new sony vtc6 battery for it. Until I managed to replace it I was feeling really bad without it. I tried putting less nicotine, but I really miss it and I can't go without it. I really need to know what is the best way to do it, because I want to stop. That stuff is bad for lungs and after seeing people having cancer I am scared...
