  1. I am due to have RnY in march and I am now very discouraged and terrified after reading this forum.
  2. How do you make yours? I'm a vegetarian so typically I do refried vegetarian black Beans, lettuce, olives, tomato, salsa, natural sour cream, and tamed jalapenos. If I have extra calories sometimes I'll add cheese or Morningstar griller crumbles (vegetarian beef Protein substitute).
  3. It is extremely frustrating that nearly 80% of you are just here to chime in on the colored wagon and don't have anything to add to the topic of this post, go create a forum called, "is colored politically correct?" And go rage on each other there. I mean do you realize how ridiculous this seems... Arguing over people of color and colored people... Which essentially mean the same fricken thing in a different order. It's just an excuse for people to get offended and cry wolf. No one got on here and threw the N word around. So if you don't have anything positive to contribute then go to bed....
  4. As far as what I've read it isn't derogatory either. Every decade there seems to be a new "politically correct" word to call people of color and at this point it is merely just preference but colored is most definitely not impolite, outdated but not impolite. So for those of you who feel you have something to prove.... Seriously go bitch and moan somewhere else.
  5. That sounds really good actually yum
  6. You should really let it go... It's already been blown way out of proportion. Quit stirring the pot.
  7. Increased risk of osteoporosis and kidney disease due to over consumption of protein -the food revolution.
  8. Yeah this thread apparently will not provide the information or personal experiences I was looking for, thanks anyway.
  9. Colored may be outdated but I don't see it as offensive, given the context she clearly wasn't attacking anyone.
  10. Pita chips and hummus and veggies are my go to snacks right now and I try not to eat out of bags. Are munchies for you less/more intense than pre op or about the same? I was wondering because of changes in appetite. A lot of people (not all) say they don't experience physical hunger for several months post op, I was curious as to what the effects of marijuana would be with that.. I never smoked until I went through radiation and my doctor encouraged it to give me an appetite and cure nausea... Seems like it could be counter productive to some success in WLS if one doesn't have enough self control (not worried about It much as I've learned to curb my munchies). Just curious as to people's experience using after WLS.
  11. In the 2000's it was decided black wasn't a color but a shade... Would it be proper to say, "unless you are shaded!" ;-P
  12. I have no idea, I always workout before dinner... I prefer to eat after. I eat lunch at noon-1 and typically workout about 430 then have dinner when I get home. So I don't eat for a couple hours before I work out but I eat almost immediately after. One time i did eat about 30 min before a workout because we had lunch with friends and I was miserable the entire time.

For those of you who use marijuana for medicinal or recreational purposes... How have the 'munchies' affected you post op? -for those of you who are anti-marijuana, your negativity on the topic is unwelcome.
  14. I have an aunt that has been doing this for as long as I can remember and she has had so many complications because of it and doctors have told her to stop and she won't. She looks like she literally rolled out of a coffin... She lives in California and looks sickly and still thinks she's fat.
  15. I'm intrigued, what is the cauliflower diet?
  16. Yeah!! I think we were discussing at one time how it would be cool If we had surgery around the same time! Looks like it will be happening! I'm sure I'll be towards the end of the month so you will be a couple weeks ahead of me :-P that's ok you can let me know what to expect!
  17. Who cares... Everyone is at a different place in their journey and if some people need the extra attention or support here because they aren't getting it at home or because they like it then so be it... No one requires you to like it or to even encourage it for that matter. I don't reply to all the, "oh woe is me" posts because I simply do not have the time, however some people do and they enjoy it. The fact that it ruffles your feathers so much is because you choose to let it. I don't.
  18. I am going to have a march surgery, I find out my exact date on February 24th. So excited!
  19. Pregnant woman's urine? Was that like the hcg diet lol!
  20. My seatbelt kept locking in the car and it would literally piss me off, I'd rage all over it. Lol
  21. Is it worth the extra money for the force? I'm looking to get one but don't know whether to get the flex or force
  22. I'd like to know about salad friendly ingredients as well! I'm pre op but am a vegetarian and I eat a very plant based diet.
  23. My surgeon only requires a liquid diet if your bmi is above 50.
  24. I am extremely allergic to whey and whey protein is absorbed the best and usually contains more protein. If people are struggling to get in their protein post op by supplementing with whey shakes I'm going to have a hell of a time with my hemp protein.
