  11. July 24th here and also a couple pounds away from losing 50. I'm losing way slower than I had expected to. But at least I'm not regaining the weight like I would before the sleeve.
  12. if you still have your gallbladder and you're getting sick when you eat, please get that checked. Hope you feel better soon.
  13. Hi. I had all the same issues as you and concerns as you with a slow thyroid. My ac1 before surgery was 9.5 and my family doctor wanted me to start insulin. After talking with my sleeve surgeon I decided to have the sleeve. Had my post op blood work done almost exactly 3 months post surgery. Ac1 was down to 6.3, which falls into pre diabetic category. I still crave sugar but can be satisfied now with a very small amount (at least compared to what I ate before). I can satisfy my craving with one fun size candy bar or a couple hershey kisses. I don't eat candy everyday, but still have it. I use sugar fee Jello a lot to help with the sugar cravings. Cake used to be my absolute favorite, but now it just doesn't taste as good as it used to. A couple bites and I'm usually done with cake. You're taste buds will change after surgery. Just wanted to let you know you the sleeve can be an option if you would want to still be able to have the occasional treat. I have never experienced the dumping syndrome from sugar or anything else. Was sleeved 7/24 @ 295, today I'm at 247, 46 years old. Consider myself a slower loser but my hypothyroid probably contributes to that. Good luck with whatever surgery you decide to go with.
  14. I agree with sshree815. Everyone's journey is different. Some people just will lose at a much slower pace than everyone else even when you are doing everything you should be doing. I know because I'm one of those people. Just keep hitting your Protein and Water goals, stay at a reasonable calorie intake and it will come off. Maybe not at the pace you had hoped for, but your body is going to do what it wants to do.
  15. Today's starting weight 249 Goal weight 230 Thanks for organizing this!

  18. Last week 252 Today 251 Goal is 250, seem to be in a stall hope to make goal next week.
  19. Yes it is. I think I was like that for at least 2 weeks. After you get on regular food you'll have the opposite problem.
  20. It's hard to say. I had a text book recovery, no issues and was feeling great after a week. My friend had the surgery and had many issues. She was nauseous and drained for the first couple months. Can you reschedule the trip if you find that you're not up to it? I would hope for the best and plan tha trip. You can order soup or might even be able to eat regular food by one month out. Of course you won't be able to eat much at a time. I was cleared at 2 weeks for regular food, just had to take it easy and try new things one at a time. Good luck with your surgery and recovery.
  21. Don't buy too much of anything. I bought several different types and didn't like any of them, including unjury and Isopure unflavored. You'll have plenty of time after surgery to order what you end up liking. Good luck.
