  1. So I just put down in MFP that I ate 1.5 c of cheddar potato yeahhh not so much. Think I had more like 2/3 rds of a cup. It was the thickest thing I've tried so far being only five days out and I haven't figured out what full feels like yet. But I did get a odd pressure in my chest. Is that it??
  2. Ate about 2/3rds cup and got a weird pressure in my chest. Am I full??
  3. so day five for me and you huh. How are u doing? If u have a my fitness pal account u are welcome to friend me if u like. Seeing as how we both had surgery on the same day my user name on there is xrayshel it's a great way to track everything I eat and I'm able to see all my friends food diaries too so that's helpful! And motivational as well.
  4. I'm five days out. So quite the noob lol
  5. Day 5- 215.4 6.6 lbs lost since surgery! So that brings my total loss to 33.6 lbs. I had lost 27lbs pre-op. It took me nine months to get that off but it's the most I was ever able to lose "on my own". Noticed I got a lil hungry today but I hadn't eaten since this morning so I'm guessing that's to be expected. It wasn't the kind of hunger I normally would have either. U know the bugs bunny in the desert kind where everyone looks like a scrumptious roast beef! Hahaha just a little hunger signal. Easy to deal with. I wonder though if it's acid? I've read on here how acid mimics hunger so maybe I should try taking my Pepcid impersonator tomorrow and see if that happens again.... Still eating full liquids so I've got some bear creek Soup cooking. That's a dry soup in a bag that's dehydrated. Very very good stuff. Cheddar potato and broccoli and cheese are the best!! I'll just put it through the strainer so no lumps. Till tomorrow....
  6. thank u, I've enjoyed reading your posts too!
  7. I'd love to be friends on mfp. It helps keep me motivated and I love seeing others progress and meals! I'm xrayshel on there. Anyone who wants to can add me.
  8. I ordered protein from Unjury and it's the best I've ever had tastes nothing like any protein shake I've ever tried get some of that. Chocolate splendor is yummy and so is the chicken soup flavor. I'm ordering some unflavored too so I can mix it in anything to keep the protein up. Maybe u can keep some lil things if apple juice too for the blood sugar. Hopefully once u lose weight u won't have to worry about diabetes anymore if u are type two. Don't worry most of all keep yourself busy. I know I was a wreck too before hand but really I see now that that was not helping matters. U can do this.
  9. My revision from band to sleeve took 3 hrs. But I also had tons of scar tissue from the band being in for ten yrs. plus he fixed a hernia and yanked the ol gallbladder. First two days were rough. Day three was a big improvement in fact I rode seven hours home and went shopping at Walmart. Feeling much better now. Walking is the key.
  10. are you still on clear liquids? I only had to do clears from 0-48 hrs is what they said. I'm doing the full liquids which are going along ok. My energy is up but I'm taking a chewable multivitamin. Did u get some of those?
  11. oh gosh girl I was sooo scared! But I have to tell you, I am in the medical field and I see everyday what will happen to a person who doesn't get the weight off and believe me, it's way way scarier. I just HAD to do it. At 41 yrs old and being overweight every single day of my 41 yrs, it was obvious if there was any possible way that I could have done this on my own I would have long ago. Think positive thoughts only. Push away all the negative and know in your heart that you are making the best decision for you. Oh and.. It's not that bad!! Lol
  12. Thank you both. Yep I think it was the hernia repair that was causing so much pain. Doc said nearly all band patients have em too. But I'm feeling great now! And weight is coming off. I'm down six lbs since Monday. Uncanny.
  13. It's amazing absolutely amazing! I'm five days out and down 6 lbs! I know it won't keep this pace and the body has to catch up but for right now, at this moment, I'm celebrating with you! High five in the air don't leave me hanging hahaha
  14. Day 4 post op- 216 lbs lost 6 lbs since surgery! Day 4 has been pretty good too. I am down six lbs since Monday and today is Friday so that's pretty unbelievable! I drank a Protein shake this morning. A muscle milk (1/2 bottle) for lunch. It had 40 g of protein. But I wasn't really impressed with the taste. Kinda spoiled now since trying unjury Protein Powder. I really think I'm going to order the unflavored kind though because I have to get more protein in. I will be able to mix it up in my tomato soup which has never tastes so good than it does now lol the swelling in my belly is going down. Unflavored Water is kinda hard to get in. Idk why... Noticed when I feel full it kinda feels like a little bit of pressure on my chest. Nothing like the band feeling but not quite a full feeling either. So far I haven't had any cravings for anything and I'm not in any sort of Great Depression about missing food. This is not like any diet I've ever experienced. My energy is up. I don't miss food. It doesn't even look good at this stage. Soup is yummy and I'm satisfied completely. It's truly a miracle.
  15. oh man that's soooo what I didn't want was two surgeries so I understand. But I know a lot of docs insist that it is needed for healing so whatever is best for you is what u have to do
  16. thank you I know I was reading everything I could get my hands on before surgery. Lol
  17. Hi guys! I'm not sure how much help I am being but I like being able to put this all down at least for a little while. I'm so happy if it's helping some who are pre-op and as nervous as I was! Day 3- 218 lbs! Lost 4 lbs I forgot to put this down yesterday lol well day three was wonderful!! It's amazing how great I felt today! My incisions are still pretty numb so no pain there. I have five of them. Two larger ones and three very small ones. I went to Walmart and got some shopping done cause I wanted to make a roast tomorrow. Not that I can eat a roast mind you lol I still have a little pain if I turn the wrong way or something but other than that I feel awesome! And I've lost four lbs! Today I've had a scoop of unjury chocolate spendor Protein powder with 2 T of Hills Bro sugar free French vanilla Cappuccino powder. A vanilla sugar free pudding. And tomato Soup with milk for supper. I'm not really hungry. But I do get a tiny feeling of hunger if it's time to eat. It goes away immediately. Still sipping on power aid zero too.
  18. 7:30 pm and i made some broth and it started going down! I've gotten almost a whole coffee mug in!! Oh happy day. Tomorrow I will try adding a lil bit of Unjury chicken protein powder. Yay!!!!!!!!!
  19. Day 2 Today I woke up and had some acid reflux. Lots of burning in my stomach so I called the doc. He have me a script for protonix and said that the acidy feeling and reflux should go away in a few weeks. He did fix a hernia that I didn't know I had and he said a lot of the pain is coming from there. Walgreens didn't have any protonix and being 7 hours from home, we needed to get on the road. Still having issues getting an Fluid in. I take the tiniest sip and it gurgles like it going down a drain and I can feel when it clears and can take another tiny sip. No way on the planet I'm getting in 64 oz. I don't think I've had even 8 oz. kinda worrisome. About four hours into the drive home, I had to stop and get something for the burning. I got the Walgreens brand of Pepcid chewable.... Didn't help very much. Feel like my insides have been through a meat grinder but he said that band really was tough to get out. I haven't taken any pain medicine today either. I'm going to do that soon now that I'm finally home. All those bumps in the road just really made for an uncomfortable ride. I've noticed hot liquid goes down a little easier than cold. Meaning I can take a few more sips so I'm going to really focus on this broth.... Focussss concentrate annnnd poof!! its a cheeseburger!
  20. hi mama, it'll be ok. These two weeks are gonna fly by and before you know it you will be on the other side. Do u have a lapband that is getting removed? If it's just the sleeve then u may be one of the ones who are almost pain free! My incisions don't hurt at all it seems to be where they fixed the hernia and took out the lap band. But even that is getting better and better. Don't worry yourself to death this is a good thing girl!!
  21. Is it always this tight? Cause I'm telling ya there's no way solid anything is going down. Nope no way. I'll be on liquids and softs for a while anyway so it can heal but kinda wondering is this just really swollen I guess and then it lessens up a little?
  22. Im walkin I'm walkin lol now the sipping ugh not so much. I'll try the head tilt thing though.... Hmmmm
  23. So I just had surgery to remove my ten yr old broken lap band and do a revision to a sleeve. Had my surgery at Laredo medical center with Dr Michael Morris. Love him!!! Hated the hospital. Had a hernia fixed and gallbladder removed at the same time. Doc said surgery lasted three hours because I had a ton of scar tissue he had to dig out I can sure feel it too. My weight just before surgery was 222 lbs and I'm 5'1" I had BCBS of Tennessee and they required I lose ten percent which I did but it took nine months to do so. So day one Dec 31st. It's 24 hours past my surgery. They took me down to check for a leak this morning. All clear! They told me I can start on Clear liquids for today and tomorrow and maybe a Protein shake. Sooo here I sit staring at my broth and Jello.... I've been taking the tiniest of bites but it kinda gurgles going down and I can tell I don't want another bite. How am I supposed to get anything in? I think I've had an oz maybe over the last couple of hours. Is this normal? I'm not in absolute horrible pain now although I did have it rough yesterday. I'm not nauseated anymore but my abdomen is sooooo tight and filled with air. They say to keep walking and it'll go away, I sure hope they are right. My shoulder hurts too. Kinda weird. Ok so off to walk a bit and see if I feel a little better.
  24. Me too. Surgery was yesterday afternoon doc found a hernia and said my gallbladder was no good so he took that too. He said my ten ur old lap band had excessive scarring and surgery lasted about three hours. I'm about 20 hours post op and I've been up walking lots. Can't say I've had no pain cause I've had quite a bit. Lots of nausea, and tons of air in my tummy but it's starting to get better. I'm sipping on broth and jello but I've been working on this for about an hour. Tiniest sip and I get gurgles and a little pressure in my chest. This is gonna take awhile. But it's over so yay!!!!
