  1. I have severe PCOS and this is what my surgeon recommend for me. We discussed my fears and goals. At the end this is what we both decided was good for me. Research success rates. I'm on this site per suggestion of my doc. He said best place to research is a forum. Internet is going to be biased. Good luck
  2. I work L&D. My surgeon suggested 6weeks off for nurses due to lifting, strenuous 12 hr shifts and feeling better after being able to eat foods instead of liquids. My surgery is Monday and I've taken his advice. 6 weeks for this girl!
  3. Plz post recipe if this works out well
  4. And it's crazy because the things I'm craving are things i never thought I'd miss. Boneless teriyaki wings from zaxbys. Nachos supreme Taco Bell. No sweets no huge meals. Just a few of my favorites.
  5. I've not bought anything since I started 6month program. Surgery is Monday. I'm planning on getting couple of things at a time. No need for whole wardrobe til reach goal. And there's a clothing exchange here that looks good. I just don't wanna get caught in a bind. Probably buy drawstring so can tighten. Can always add ties to tops. Money is just tight with new added meds and shakes etc.
  6. Me too! It's been food funeral week! Lol. Yes I can eventually eat them again but don't want to overdo it. Know if I start that cravings start. So I'm just having a goodbye ol friend party
  7. Yes. I have a pair. Get compliments a lot too. I just dread buyin new ones. So expensive. A friend of mine had bypass and she does clothing exchange or goodwill.
  8. I also have PCOS. Didn't have periods for years until had ovarian drilling. Now they are monthly and regular. I'm hoping this doesn't change with surgery
  9. I got my scripts yesterday, not sure if it's just my insurance but was 100.00. I have clear liquid diet starting tomorrow and drink 2 disgusting bottles mag citrate. YUCK! Bought one cherry and one grape.
  10. Is that spicy? I saw it today but my stomach can't do spicy
  11. I am glad you wrote this! I've told ppl the protein shakes remind me of dead rat smell no matter what I mix with! Surgery Monday, and I've been dreading this. I don't want my patients to think I smell
  12. Ppl are so hing up on outward appearance. I had a lady at work, I'm presleeve, ask to see a picture of me and my hubby I was showing off. She looked and said THIS is your husband? He's nice looking? In a question form like why would a nice looking man be with you. Smh. Yep. My husband loves me for ME. This surgery is also for ME. I include him in all my major decisions and when I said won't you be glad to have a skinny wife, he said I'm glad to have you as my wife.... Sigh. Ppl with that amount of small mindedness will never know true love.
  13. I've been wondering abt these! What's the consistency like? My surgery is Monday and I've yet to find ANYTHING that doesn't make me gag
  14. Great thread! Everyone looks amazing. ALL pics and stories inspiring, at goal or not. Keep up the good work.
  15. Congrats! You look great! Love all the inspiring stories. Cannot wait for my journey to begin. Surgery Monday.
  16. It can also be the opposite. Can completely stop periods. But def call ur doctor. Sorry my ADD goes in 50 directions at once!
  17. This also happens a lot in ppl with anorexia. More than likely related to rapid weight loss but def call ur gyn. I work as a nurse in this field so just everyday conversation to me but if periods have been heavy, need to check bloodwork to see if anemic. Also, may need to add iron or b12 to ur vitamin regimine and may help with the tired feeling.
  18. Last minute craziness before surgery on Monday! Good luck and prayers for us all!
  19. Lol, well I feel like a surgery pro and I know kinda what to expect. A family member had surgery in June so I've been torturing her for advice! But I also know me. Right now I'm last minute shopping, packing bag for hospital but starting Sunday afternoon it'll hit me and I won't sleep and then on Monday I will be an absolute basket case. Btw, have you bought vitamins yet? Found those pineapple strawberry ones on amazon. A 90 day supply were like 35.00. It's celebrate vitamins like they gave us samples of.
  20. I was also only required day before clear liquids and npo after midnight. Each doc different I guess. My surgery is Monday!
  21. Sweet! I'm very excited today but know I will be nervous wreck Monday!
  22. Got my time! Have to be at hospital at 0830. Gotta get my preop liquids and laxatives and I'm ready.
  23. Thanks! Knew it was on here but couldn't remember where
