  3. I am in desperate need of some good ideas for packing lunch. I work long days and need to pack two meals...I have access to a microwave. HELP...any ideas appreciated
  4. Oh...I used Dr. Goldstein...and the New Beginnings program at Virtua Voorhees. Where are you in the process?
  5. I am in South Jersey. I am 28 years old and was just banded on December 19th...what surgeon are you using?
  6. Awesome...that is so good for you!
  7. I'm with you! Had my surgery on the 19th of Dec and feel like I could devour WAY more than I should. I am trying to handle it...but I'm frustrated. My fill is on the 29th..can't wait.
  8. That is great...I'm a teacher...so those kind of things interest me. That is such a huge accomplishment! Good luck to him!
  9. Anyone a Goldstein patient?
  10. So happy to have found this thread. I was banded on 12/19...my BMI was 39...I am 28 years old. I am in my mushies stage and loving it (after drowning in liquids) I lost 10.6 pounds...gained one back during full liquids....will I be gaining more now that I'm at the mushies? I know after all the research and reading what seems like a million threads...the loss will not come until the fills and that oh so important sweet spot sinks in...until then....what to do to stay motivated?
  11. I had the SAME thing...then I went to the mall...ate something...burped...and it's gone! Don't know if it was the walking....or what...but it is gone! And I feel SSOOOO much better. Once it does you will feel so much better.
  12. What insurance do you have? Have you looked up a doctor yet? My doctors office did all the insurance approval for me. They outlined the tests I needed to have done...I did them...they submitted...I was approved...
  13. I was banded on the 19th...I have had a rough road honestly...which SHOCKED me. I usually recover from things well and I am fairly young with a lower BMI...I am finely just feeling well enough to want to go out today! So my only advice is to take it slow and don't be disappointed if it takes longer than u assumed.
  14. My throat was so sore from the tube...cough drops helped a ton!
  15. So I was banded on Wed the 19th...home this afternoon...feeling pretty darn good. Have some pain in my stomach...but nothing major... I'm actually considering going into work for half the day tomorrow....we'll see how it goes...I'm gonna decide in the morning how I feel.
  16. So I am still at the hospital now...writing from my cell! I am feeling good...getting ready for pains meds and bed! I am truly feeling wonderful...sore at port area...but otherwise have been walking and drinking like a champ! I am going home tomorrow at 11am...so I am sure I will b posting more tomrrow... One question...I get it...sugar free is better...but will I explode if I have a normal water ice???
  17. I got my approval today! Looks like December 19 will be the big day...yipee!!!
  18. Thanks for the info....what exactly is Sashimi???
  19. I am (hopefully) going to be December 19th!!! I will find a definite this Friday at my PreOp appointment! Yipee!!!!
  20. I am a huge fan of sushi...don't like the raw stuff...I like shellfish and veggie sushi.... Am I going to give that up after banding???
  21. Just keep striving to better things for yourself. The only way your baby will have the right things...is if you have the right things! Be sure to take care fo yourself physically...this is such a crucial time for baby! Get that paperwork filled out ASAP
  22. My insurance info is being sent tomorrow...so I will be waiting approval at that point. What insurance do you have? Did they give you an idea how long the process would be?
  23. you guys are too funny!
  24. Thank you for the info...I appreciate it
  25. I am not banded yet...so I can't offer advice in that sense. But as a young Mom (I had my son when I was 23...for me it was much younger than I wanted) I can give you some advice. I was all alone and had to find the supports that I needed...as I did not have insurance. I did the state insurance and WIC...and I can tell you it was the BEST thing I ever did. They were so supportive and the insurance is better than any insurance I have ever had! It was scary...and I went through times of laziness...that were purely because I wanted to give up. Get out of it! I needed someone to tell me that! I am telling you...pick yourself up...fill out that paperwork...and get yourself what you and your baby needs. I guarantee once you do that you will start to feel MUCH better about the entire situation. You will start feeling like a Mom...and you will understand that there are people on your side. Take your time and get on your feet before you move out. Get the debt paid off...buy a car...and quite honestly, stay with your parents as long as you can! It will be the best thing for you and baby! My son is now 4 years old...he is my world. Everything I do is for him...and he is worth it all. I love him so much and he makes life so much worth living for! I have a successful career and am on my own now. It didn't all happen over night...and there were bumps, tears, and drama along the way...but it was all worth it! I am defiently seeing the light at the end of the tunnel...and I am sure you will see it someday soon. Please do not hesitate to message me...I know how hard it is...
