Vitamins
I buy my vitamins at costco as well. I also bought chocolate flavored whey protein. In the big inning I mixed it with soy milk but I find that now I can tolerate 2% milk so I use that.

How about some NSVs!?!?
I used to have to pull my seat belt out as far as it would go. If i had gained any more weight I would have needed an extender. Today ( six months post op and 110 lbs lost) I realized how much easier it is to buckle up and I have so much more length left to pull it across my chest.

favorite drinks?
Water. Crystal Lite. Koolade with Splends. Chocolate protein powder with milk. Sometimes I freeze it so it's like ice milk. And forxacspecial treat I have sugar free hot chocolate with just a spritz of whipped cream.

noisy stomach
I Mine makes loud gurgling noises, especially when it's empty ( not having eaten or drank in several hours),,I ask my husband and son if they hear it because it's so loud and embarrassing they never hear it.

Negativity
Sorry that happened to you I haven't had any negative experiences but I chose not to tell anyone but close family members and a few friends. About two years ago I had a friend beg me not to even consider wls. She is the reason I chose not to share with a lot of people. I knew I would need all the support and encouragement I could get. My friends and family who do know have been extremely supportive. On a side note, I've updated my profile picture on Facebook twice in the past six months since I have had surgery. One friend commented stating that I am looking younger and younger and asked what am I doing. I just hit the "like" button. It's my secret, after all. LOL

What ya eating tonight?
Steak and salad tonight. Last night I had 1/3 of an Arby's Roast Beef sandwich but took of the top bun. It was such a treat!

BIG FAT PEOPLE!
I started my journey last January and had my surgery in July. My insurance required six months of weight loss/nutrition classes along with a battery of physical and psyc exams. Once I jumped through all the hoops and paper work was submitted I had a surgery date within a week. May will be here before you know it!

Dannon Greek Yogurt w/Special K Protein cereal - yummy!
That sounds yummy. I like to mix yogurt and cottage cheese together. Adding some high protein cereal to it sounds really good.

What ya eating tonight?
I made homemade chili today too. Had a small piece of cornbread with it. What's behind the tradition of cabbage and black eye peas?

Vitamin Question For Veterans
Thanks for the info. I decided to give it a go and took the multi-pack since I haven't had any issues taking prescription pills. So far, so good. I am going to continue to take the chewable multivitamin and calcium for my second and third doses throughout the day since I don't need to take the rest of the vitamins that are in the multi-pack more than once a day and the chewables taste so good!

Vitamin Question For Veterans
When, if ever can I start taking Vitamins in pill form instead of chewables? Prior to the RNY six months ago I started taking Kirkland (Costco) Daily Multi Pack and I'd like to go back to taking them again if/when I can.

Gastric bypass twice?
My mom just had the rny done for the second time, nine years later. (same surgeon) She gained back about 50% of the weight she had lost and stretched out her pouch. She just had the second surgery three weeks ago and already she is drinking soda. I'm scared for her.

OMG there is no need anymore
I had to take a peek at my license and yep I lied. My license said I was 65 pounds less than I actually was. Now I weigh 50 pounds less than what it says. I think I'll wait til I'm one year out and "lose" my license and get a new one

New years resolution anyone?
Won't need to. My sister has her concealed weapons permit and my brother-in-law is Chicago PD. I'm not sure if I want a concealed weapons permit here in California but my brother, sister and brother-in-law here all have concealed weapons permits. I have another brother-in-law here that us also PD. I just find that as I'm losing weight I my self esteem is rising and I'm feeling more confident in myself. I want to do things that I haven't been able to do in a long time, like walking the city and I want to do things I've never tried before.

New years resolution anyone?
I'm a list maker too. I love the thrill of checking things off my list even if it's just the list of chores for the day.
-
New years resolution anyone?
My New Years Resolutions are (1) Buy an expensive pair of shoes (after I have foot reconstruction surgery in March) (2) Learn to shoot a gun and when I'm comfortable with firing it, purchase one and (3) visit my sister who lives in Chicago. All three resolutions are a reward to myself for the weight loss. Can't wait to be able to walk Chi-Town with my sissy, wearing my new, expensive shoes!

What ya eating tonight?
My husband and son ordered a pizza Friday night. I took one bite and knew instantly it wasnt going to agree with me. I ended up eating some left over shrimp with oriental vegetables.

Being grateful at Christmas
Indigo, I know exactly what you are going through. This week I had a dear friend lose one of her 19 year old twin son to an auto accident. He was in a coma for two weeks and we were all praying for a Christmas miracle. Another heartache came in a phone call from my brother on law letting is know my sister in law who has battled breast cancer since 2007. Last year it spread to her spine and now they found a tumor on her brain. It's a bittersweet Christmas to say the least.

"Operation Operation"
I just swallowed it whole. I never had any issues. I'm almost six months out and am taking Vicodin for my broken foot. I still don't have any issues with taking any pills. I'm even thinking about trying vitamin capsules once I run out of the chewables.

July 2013 - Post Op Thread
So sorry about the pain. I had problems with my gallbladder when I was pregnant and know firsthand how painful it is. I haven't had mine removed but my bypass surgeon prescribed Actiga I have to take it twice a day for one year. Did your surgeon prescribe you anything. My sister had bypass nine years ago and her surgeon removed her gallbladder at the same time he did her bypass n
