Hair Loss - A Harsh Reality. Picture of Loss.
Thank u for posting a picture! I've been trying to imagine what it will look like and this helps give a more realistic expectation. My hair has always been really long, I've donated it four times. Never thought mine would fall out! I'm having surgery in June so I'm having fun w my hair before it falls out. I dyed a piece pink :-) have never colored my hair before this. So much fun! Lol

Any1 scared it wouldnt "work?"
As I prep for this major decision after dealing w weight issues for a lifetime, I've spent a ton of time on here. Every day I'm amazed by the success everyone has had. I'm wondering if any of you with such huge amounts of weight loss really were afraid before you got the sleeve that it just wouldn't work? For whatever reason, despite the statistics, that you'd be the one in a million who didn't lose weight? The thought keeps creeping up in my mind

Ever able to "gulp" again?
I'm so relieved! Thank you everyone. That was definitely one of my bigger fears for life post-sleeve. It seems like any time I get scared of have second thoughts, I come on here and EVERYONE is happy w their sleeve! Incredible.

Ever able to "gulp" again?

Ever able to "gulp" again?
Hey guys, I know after surgery it's "sip sip sip," but for those of you a year out or more, or anyone more active after the surgery, are you ever able to gulp down your water again?

Getting discouraged, losing focus
Hey pretty lady! I haven't been sleeved yet, and they're not asking me to lose any weight beforehand (not yet anyway...), but I've been kinda trying on my own (again!) to lose a bit before the surgery. It can be difficult trying to keep yourself in check while making sure you're meeting all the requirements on someone else's "checklist." I'm certainly no expert, but cutting out carbs has totally helped. Maybe try to cut out the milk since it sounds like your stomach doesn't like it anyway....you can have cheese w your eggs and get calcium from there, or maybe even just take a few TUMS or Viactiv calcium chews each day to help with that? And I swear by crystal light. Hate water, but a little crystal light goes a long way. Good luck. Keep your head up!

Doubts: sleeve necessary?
I still have about 6 months before my surgery, but the more I learn the more it seems that the biggest part of weight loss post-sleeve is being aware of what you're eating, making good decisions, portion control, etc....which for me begs the question, how much of this weight loss is because of the sleeve, and how much is just "following the rules" and doing it the old fashioned way? I'm not doubting the tool's effectiveness, I guess I'm just wondering how necessary is it if the objective is to be counting and measuring and limiting for the rest of my life regardless? I still want to do it, just trying to get some first hand feedback....
