What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
- November buddies where are you?
Hi! Good luck! I have never had surgery either, so I can relate. Being a single mother is never easy...been there...things will be so much better with weight loss. I wish you the best of luck!- 2 Months Before and After Pics
You look great! Congratulations!- Things I will NOT miss about being fat.
I will not miss: struggling to put socks on always being out of breath worrying about certain chairs people always looking at what you are eating your face is so pretty chubby cheeks..someone actually said that to me pants not splitting..yes they did..at airport not asking for extenders when flying not being so tired all the time bed not making noise when I get in it not feeling comfortable naked pants too tight...binding around waist socks too tight illnesses associated with obesity steering wheel hitting my belly feet swelling proper feminine hygiene without struggling (you know what I mean)!!!! I have thousands more!- Scheduled 11/22. GERD/hernia help
I had a swallow test done, but that was about 4 months ago. I think I will go ahead and call the center. I appreciate your response.- Scheduled 11/22. GERD/hernia help
I have been experiencing symptoms of acid reflux for the past few weeks. I did not know what it was. I spoke with a few nurses I work with last night and they said it sounds like acid reflux and possible hernia. The symptoms I have been experiencing are a sour stomach, tongue feels weird, almost like it is burned and prickly, throat burns and sore, lump in throat and almost every time I lay down I throw up. Have any of you experienced this? Do I need to call my surgeons office? Afraid if I do that surgery will be postponed....on other hand, I'm afraid if I don't let them know it might be cancelled. This is stressing me out. I appreciate any advise about this. Thank you!- November fitness challenge
You guys are an inspiration. My surgery is in 3 weeks. I look forward to being able to exercise. Right now, walking more than 10 minutes is exhausting. I also have COPD and asthma, which I am hoping improves after weight loss.- don't screw up or else?
I try to get advice/opinions/thoughts from members of this site who have had surgery and been successful. I really do not think I'm qualified to hand out advice, as my surgery is 3 weeks away. I have posted to treads about which I have experience....protein shakes, insurance hoops, etc. Just my thoughts. I wish success to all!- Do you look older since you lost weight?
- This diet is very tough
I start pre-op diet in 2 weeks. I guess I'm lucky. Protein shakes for breakfast and lunch along with 1/2 cup fruit. Dinner is 3 oz neat, 1/2 cup green vegetables. Certain green Vegas I can eat throughout the day. Clear liquids day before surgery. I started having protein shake for breakfast a few weeks ago. Gut out cokes, which was very hard! Replaced cokes with crystal light. Not snacking. Eating a lot smaller lunch and dinner, focusing on protein. I hope this better prepares me for pre-op! I can see where I might also become very difficult, but hoping not. Good luck to everyone!- Eating out
Refried beans?- Sleeved on 12-12-12.....Down 70lbs with pics
You are beautiful! Both before and after. I cannot ever imagine looking that tjin. My surgery is in three weeks. Thanks for sharing....very inspirational!- November buddies where are you?
Sorry. I did not mean to cause any concern. Those were the directions from my surgeon. It seems like instructions vary from surgeon o surgeon. I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to add stress! Good luck to you. Can't wait to hear how everything goes!- November buddies where are you?
Eating the day before surgery is very dangerous. You do not need to have any food in your tummy, that is why you do liquids only the day before surgery. I hope you reconsider the sandwich. You can do this. You deserve it. Please do not eat anything. It is very risky! If you do, you must tell your surgeon! Your surgery will be rescheduled.- Primary NO WLS, but Secondary Does
Your journey has started! Enjoy!- Before i was sleeved 8 weeks ago 55lbs gone forever !
You look great. Your pictures do not even look like the same person! Congratulations!- Primary NO WLS, but Secondary Does
All insurance companies are different. I would call the secondary and ask them, that way you will know for sure. Good luck!- October sleevers?
Who is your surgeon in Memphis?- Just when you think it's about to be smooth sailing.......BAM!
I'm sorry for the difficulty you are having. In my opinion if child care is worked out, I would drive myself to the hospital. That does not mean you have to drive home, you can arrange to get your car home. I'm sure the hospital can take care of your bags. If not, could your daughter bring later that day? Best of luck to you!- What a difference a year makes!
You are beautiful! I have scrubs in lots of sizes! I'm looking forward to a year out! Congratulations and thanks for sharing.- A few days shy of a year post op and 72% of my body fat already gone! I love my sleeve!
Congratulations! So great to hear of you wonderful success story!- November buddies where are you?
I'm scheduled11/22 at St. Francis Center for Surgical Weight Loss, Dr. Virginia Weaver. I start my preop diet in 1week. 2protein shakes, 2 fruits, 3oz of meat, green vegetables. Liquid only day before surgery. I guess I am fortunate, my preop diet allows some unlimited veggies (okra, tomato, greens, green beans), I'm ready to get this party started! Good luck everyone!- I Want To See Before & After Pics!
You look fab! Congratulations!- November fitness challenge
I'm tired just reading this thread. My workout today was shopping. I get so tired doing just about anything. My surgery is 11/22. I'm really hoping after I get a few pounds off exercise will be doable.- 200 lbs. GONE !
