  1. Doing good so far! My goal was to meet or average 10,000 steps per day. (This is my spreadsheed; embiggen to read)
  2. I dont understand the dieting right before surgery. Dont all docs/ins companies require 3-6 months of med managed weight loss before surgery? I had to see a NUT weekly, show proof of an exercise program (she reviewed the past week on my pedometer), go on a prescription for phentermine, weigh in weekly, etc etc. I had to do just 3 months, and I lost 30 lbs (286-256). The only thing I had to do pre-op was NPO after midnight the night before.
  3. Ugh! Too late!! Brown sugar cinnamon was one of the ones I bought! Also choc, peppermint, raspberry, and caramel (not the classic).
  4. Just paid $4.19 per bottle for the 750 ml Torani at WEBstaurant.com. It was nearly half the price of the Torani website, and at least $2.00 cheaper than anything I saw on Amazon. It ships out of Pennsylvania.
  5. I use the pure protein bars, and like the peanut butter one the most. Chocolate after that. I don't really care for the others. They hardly have ANY sugar alcohols: 200 calories, 6 sugar alcohols, 20 grams of protein. I've looked at EVERY other bar in EVERY other store I frequent, and I can't find ones as good as these.
  6. I use a baby spoon too, and a sippy cup!
  7. I'm three weeks out today, and I'm eating 600-750 per day. No more than one 10 oz protein drink per day.
  8. Thanks GG! You are my number two fan (after wifey!)
  9. Adding: 8640 steps on 11/3 13424 on 11/4 Daily average so far: 12,080 steps, about 3.5 miles per day on average!! Also, started back to work today. Lots of energy, and feeling great!
  10. Surgery date: 10/15/13 Highest weight: 286 Surgery weight: 256 Current weight: 237 (three weeks post-op tomorrow) Seems like there ARE other October Sleever's forums/groups. I have a hard time keeping track!
  11. I just want to say that Im also down 50 lbs since starting preop in April, and no one even notices!!! So I make it a point of telling them! You would think that 286 to 236 would be worth a freaking mention.... LOL.
  12. Another vote for EAS Carb Control Rich Chocolate!! I LOVE that stuff!!!!
  13. Thats a great story and a great victory, GG!
  14. 286 in april at start of preop diet 256 on surgery day (oct 15) 237 this morning Walking 3+ miles per day, hitting 50-80g Protein per day, and working on increasing liquids from 40-50 oz per day to 64 oz. Meds and Vitamins all good. I'm on pureed for one more week. Two weeks of liquid and one of puree behind me. I hit 53 grams of protein with NO Protein shake today!!
  15. 15610 steps 10/31 (totally counting this!) 9937 steps 11/1 12789 steps 11/2 My goal is to average 10000+ per day for the month.
  16. Another easy ride here. My date was Oct 15, so i will be three weeks out in three days. I get in all of my meds and Vitamins, exceed my Protein using only one 10 oz p drink per day, and have three square pureed meals of 4 oz per day and a snack or two. Im slightly under fluids each day (drink 40-50 oz of Lifewater), but am not dehydrated. Walking 3-5 miles per day, and doing normal chores. Today, I'm painting outside window frames!!! Fyi, my go-to meals are soft boiled eggs or egg salad, pureed chicken and hummus, pureed tuna and mayo, thick Soups with added chicken, homemade chili, greek yogurt, baby oatmeal, cups of skim milk.... Great tip- when you are thirsty after you eat, but its too soon to drink, eat a sugar free popcicle!
  17. Im on two doses of Ursidol daily for six months. I've passed a gallstone before and lived to tell the tale!
  18. By the way, we don't call it a "hooker" name; we call it a "drag" name. And mine is "Freddie Elk!" My wife's is awesome: "Brandy Redberry"
  19. "outwithbenjiboi" is a handle I've used since 2005, when I came out of the closet to my family, friends and colleagues as a genderqueer, masculine-identified butch. "Ben" is the "boy/boi" I should have been, and the name of my inner child that I'm re-parenting into the strong butch that I am today. Benji -- the nickname for young Ben -- has been busting "out" in myriad ways my entire life. This surgery is just one more way that's happening. And my handle is the way I continually give credit to Ben for his courage and for all of the decisions that have made me whole. Everyone calls me "JB:" initials that stand for my given name + my chosen name -- "J"en/"B"en. Hope this doesn't blow too many minds.....
  20. I started one day early by logging 15,610 steps yesterday!! That's about 4.25 miles for me! My goal is to average 10,000 or more for Nov.
  21. Congratulations to ALL of us in the October family!!! Three cheers for US!!!! 1. Hip Hip Hooray!!!!!!
  22. Four weeks before "engaging my core" per my doc.
  23. Welcome to the club!!!! Much continued success!
  24. I had three snack-size Reese Cups (smaller than normal ones), and stopped. Now drinking extra water. I also made sure that I had NO other carbs all day, and I walked FOUR miles by 9 p.m.!!! Yay me!!
