  1. So sorry you are having such struggles!!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your children. I really hope they can fix some of your physical issues, the mental ones are hard enough without being compounded.
  2. Walking and yoga are other great choices! If you're on Instagram look up "big lady yoga". She is inspirational!
  3. How big are you? I started at 5'6" 271lbs at age 45, had never ever run before. I was the one walking at the back of the pack in high school!
  4. All I can say is don't assume no one will see it! My doctors office had a professional "after" (see below) photo session done of me for their ads and social media. On place a story and pic appeared was the hospital/medical groups internal foundation magazine. I am not secretive about my surgery, but there are some members of the older generation I just never told. Well the magazine arrived at my in laws door because she is a hospital volunteer, LOL! Awkward!
  5. How is that Syntrax mix? I have a sample pk but have been nervous about trying it. I like all the Syntrax ones. The matrix shakes and the nectar clears. My favorite clears are probably the iced tea and the lemonade and fuzzy navel. But everyone has different tastes. I hate the Premier Protein that many people on here say is the ONLY good one! Try it and see!
  6. Couch to 5k. It builds walk/run intervals very slowly.
  7. You will get a wide range of answers. I use it. If your nutritionist approves then give it a try. Biggest problem is it can cause the same blood spikes as sugar can so make sure it doesn't make you crave more sweets/simple carbs.
  8. Can you use some of the clear protein drinks like Isopure in the clear bottles or Syntrax Nectars mixed with water?
  9. Turkey trot on the beach! This is how we do Thanksgiving in CA:
  10. Yay!!! Hope it went well!
  11. Syntrax Matrix Vanilla. I like chike too but it's already got coffee in it so I don't add it to coffee. The other thing I like to do is make "iced latte" with two packets Starbucks Via and 1/2 to 1 scoop vanilla and shake it up with ice and Water.
  12. CAREFUL!!! The Bolthouse Farms ones are super high in carbs. The vanilla one has 29g carbs (28g sugar) and only 16g of Protein in 200 calories and that's for 8 fl oz. The bottles are almost 16oz so that's 400 calories, 56g sugar and 32g protein if you drink the whole bottle.
  13. I was told the scars would continue to improve for at least a year.
  14. I'm almost two years out and rice is one of the things that still causes me pain to eat. I think I am in the minority on that, but I have pretty much given it up because the few times I've tried it (including once on accident) I have been miserable.
  15. Zucchini Tots Shredded zucchini 1 cup Shredded sharp cheddar 1/4 C Panko crumbs or Almond meal 1/4 C Chopped onions 1/4 C 1 egg 1tsp salt 1tsp pepper 1T Trader Joe "everyday seasoning" or one of the Mrs Dash mixes or any seasoning mix you like. With a lint free dish towel wring excess Water out of zucchini. Combine all ingredients till completely mixed. Drop by teaspoon or mini ice cream scooper onto a parchment covered cookie sheet (or spray it with cooking spray). Bake at 400 for 15-20 mins flipping once halfway through.
  16. Ouch! Feel better!! Yay!!! Great goal for your first--you've got this!
  17. Turkey Trot!!! I did three last year and have done 2/3 so far this year and have one more planned! 5K Saturday--won my age group 10K trail race Sunday--also won my age group And thanksgiving morning the whole family will do one on the sand at the beach! We will be split between the 10K the 5K and the kids 1 mile races.
  18. That needs to be remedied. I saw your before/after pics. You have sculpted a body that's screaming for the beach life. Inspiring results. Inspiring hard work and motivation. Awww thanks! Just saw this. I will get there someday, hopefully soon! Oooooh! Me too!
  19. I'm post menopause as well and was surprised it came back as well as it did...unlike other parts of my body LOL!
  20. Oh don't get me wrong, I think quest bars ROCK and use them 4-5 days a week. I'm just weighing in on the net carbs controversy. I don't mind their carb count because of the fiber and I also am not concerned about artificial sweeteners, but some people are. It's just important to know and make a conscious choice!! I think real whole food is better and eat that as much as possible, but I am not averse to processed food in my diet.
  21. Btw I agree on Genepro. They don't respond well to questions either getting argumentative and combative. Makes me think they aren't convinced on their product either.
  22. Quick answers-- Yes you can get too much Protein and it can impact your kidneys. But too much is a pretty high amount and you aren't likely to get there. hair loss will be greater if you don't get all your protein jn and hair loss may be mitigated by Biotin, but you can't always stop it. I did all my protein and lots of biotin and still lost lots. It has to do with what stage of cell reproduction the hair is during your anesthesia. Google telogen effluvium.
  23. Most people also subtract sugar alcohols and that's a bit more questionable. Quest bars do have sugar alcohols and the net carbs they advertise subtracts those.
  24. I'm thrilled with my tummy tuck and didn't need or want the 360. I too have a dog ear on one side and my doc is going to fix it free of charge...I would think yours would too, it's basically fixing their original surgery (they can't always control how it heals but it's their work they are standing behind so they fix it). He said he would do it under local anesthesia in the office. I'm having it done next month.
