Step by Step Account of My First Fill
My doc does fills very similar... Just no crunch. She starts out with 5 cc and adjusts up or down based on how you feel swallowing the water. I ended up with 4.8 cc.

Earnd it - Fitbit - Nike
Congrats on the weight loss and hitting your goal weight!! I've had my force for a little over a week now and still pretty religious about wearing it. My exercise is not consistent yet and so I like this for extra motivation to get me off my butt and move more. The rewards are pretty decent. I'm hoping as they gain in popularity they might get bigger and better rewards.

My thermostat is broken
I'm about 7 weeks post op and lost about 25 lbs. I know the weather isn't helping this issue but I'm either burning up or freezing cold. I know when I was skinnier I was always cold. The weird part is more or less when I'm cold I mostly feel it in my legs and feet. I would say it's almost a burning cold. Is this normal with weight loss this quickly? Should I go to my primary or back to my surgeon? I don't feel like there's anything majorly wrong just curious of your experiences.

The best scrambled eggs in the world!
That sounds absolutely delish but it'll have to wait for a weekend. I just attempted the mushroom sausage quiche - http://www.bandfriendlyrecipes.com/search/label/Muffin%20Tin%20Meals My typical 'scrambled' eggs is in a bowl in the microwave with an ounce of diced ham and a bit of cheese. Your recipe just appeals to my texture craving mouth!

Nothing kills an apetite...
Yep - know exactly what you mean.

Controlled by food...what does this really mean?
Depending on you and your band (as it seems to vary by patient to patient)... These fatty breaded items (fried food) will get stuck in your band this potentially causing you to throw up. Knowing the potential is there that will cause me to get sick on certain foods is enough to keep me from trying it. Also, once you've eaten healthy for a long time - fried foods will cause stomach upset anyways (at least for me). I'm about 1.5 months out so I still have a long way to go but that's been my experiencing far. I used to crave steak. I got sick with it twice and really do not crave it at all. I never thought I'd say that I'd prefer chicken over a steak but hey that's where I'm at. I don't miss it either. It's so weird. Sure there are still days when I crave chocolate but that's a whole other story. That goes down easy. That's one that you have to have the mind over matter / traditional diet mentality.

Coffee.. I need help :(
First off you should follow your doctors orders. I like the suggestions of vitamins and B-12. With that being said... My doctor does not have coffee/caffeine on my prohibited list. I've been allowed it before and after surgery. She does prefer that we limit it but if I remember correctly that's more due to that caffeine or something in coffee triggers hunger of something like that. I'm not giving you allowance just stating what my surgeon allows. I only take a travel mug with me to work and rarely finish it. Sometimes I'll get another cup in the afternoon. Hope you get through this soon. I'm addicted to coffee and would have severe migraines if I stopped. Oh I also drink it black so there's essentially zero / very few calories. Do you load yours up with tons of sugar/milk? That might be another reason why your doc wants you to wait to maximize weight loss??

Fills and intake
I think it's for safety and get you used to it. My surgeon wants 24 hours liquids, 24 hours mushies and then progress as you're comfortable.

Ode to What I Weigh
I really wish they would update those 'guidelines'. They really are not a good indicator of health, especially since muscle weighs more than fat. I guess this is why a number of people on here say don't look at the scale and go by how you feel. That's easier said than done for me. Go for the weight you're happy with

Talk to me about Fitbit Flex!
The .whatever issue - not sure what's happening there. I do track my weight to the tenth so it's showing up that way for me and I like that. Sleep - I've tried it a few times in conjunction with a phone app. I like the details in the phone app much better. I've stopped using it for the sleep function.

Talk to me about Fitbit Flex!
Oh for the record, I don't wear mine in the shower. There have been reports of some users who were getting a lot rashes on their skin and from what I googled it was due to the increased moisture / not drying the skin off fully when done or something like that. Not sure if it's true (cause and effect) but I haven't had any problems.

Talk to me about Fitbit Flex!
I have the force. I debated between the flex and force for a while as they are quite similar. I know they are water proof and can be worn in the shower but I'm not sure about submerging it in a pool. Plus with all the chlorine and this band, I'm not sure if that would degrade the life of the band even if you can submerge it. I have mine synced with my fitness pal so everything ends up in one place.

Earnd it - Fitbit - Nike
Have you heard of a new site called earnd it (yeah that's how it's spelled - not a typo). Well it's new to me at least. You sign up for the program, link your fitbit, nike, run keeper, mapmyfitness, endomondo, bodymedia, etc to this site and when you exercise as you normally would, you can earn points for free or discounted exercise stuff. Here's my referral link - http://earnd.it/LrtNOu You get a free 50 points by going through this link. It's new to me so I'm not an expert yet. The link looked fishy when a coworker sent it to me but it seems pretty legit after googling the program. You're exercising anyways, why not get rewarded for it? Let me know if you use it already, what you think.

Band Day Today
I was allowed to drink right away well when I got to the second stage of recovery. First recovery was me asking for more pain meds every time they asked as well. Lol.

Band Day Today
You're going to be expected to pee before you go. I was in a decent amount of pain and very sleepy. Hope everything goes well for you. Where are you located as I'm headed to bed (Florida, USA here)

Pre Op Testing
I just had blood work (I think two maybe three vials but I think my primary added a few extra tests to give clearance), chest X-ray and EKG.

Insurance Question
Yeah same comment. Call Cigna and see what they mean. It might be that your employer did not select that option. I have Cigna through my work and they covered my surgery.

Port area still sore
Mine was sensitive for about a month. It was better over time but it'd remind me that it was there.

Surgery on a Friday...back to work Monday
I'm an engineer (mental desk job). My surgeons office typically does the surgery on Wednesday and people return to work on a Monday. I actually took 3 weeks but that was a combo of vacation time and holiday shut down time). I tried to work remotely from home about 3 days out and with the narcotics my brain was mush. I was able to get out and walk a lot but my brain was very slow. If you're in a busy season of accounting are you able to wait a couple of months till it's less busy? What happens if you push yourself to return early and you make some mistake (legal repercussions or minor no big deal)? Does someone double check your work for errors? I kept up with my meds as allowed and wasn't in too bad of pain. I lived with the ice pack on the belly and heating pad on the shoulder. I wish you the best of luck but I'd recommend more time off and/or postponing till you have the time.

When to tell someone you're dating about the band?
Sorry to hear he cancelled on you. For me, very few people know I've had the surgery. Since he is from your office and few people know of your surgery I would have waited till you know how things were going to work out. Like the other suggestions - for now in the mushy phase order soups. Look online for nutritional info and descriptions. I've even emailed the company for suggestions when I couldn't find something and they came back with something that was not officially on the menu but it's in their computer! (Chipotle will let you order 1 taco - I just don't eat the shell... It's like a mini burrito bowl and it's only $2.50). His loss your gain. Good luck in future dating endeavors.

Protein NRG (Protein Water) - Shark Tank
I saw that on the shark tank and said to myself that I should check this out as an extra protein source. Might be worth trying.
