That is awesome your feeling so good. I can't wait for that!!! I have had issues and my healing is slow I just started to eat food 3 weeks ago being on liquids left me very weak. Now I am ready to workout and feel stronger. I am so glad everyone is doing so well. Keep it up ????????????

Ok so we all seem to be doing well yay! Now I am curious what exercises are helping you the most? Are you straight cardio or cardio weights or strength training? I am elliptical walking strength training girl. I am wondering about yoga and pilates but I am not sure if that's more maintaining stuff and not for weightloss.

Wow God bless you! 65 and doing a 5k that is beyond great. That is a true inspiration to us all!!! My surgery was November 21st I am 92lbs down I have had many complications and been on liquids until 2 weeks ago. Finally able to eat I am now strong enough to get my exercising started which I did last week. You all inspire me with your great successes and I can't wait to be were you all are. Please keep the updates coming. I for one need to hear how people at the same point are doing. I find it motivational and truly inspiring.

You guys are doing great! Those are fantastic accomplishments I had the same issue of not "seeing it" the nurse/doctors office said it's body dismorphia like how anorexia patients still always see a fat person. They said it takes time and you need to wear new you clothes that fit and look at before and after pics often so your body image changes. Oh I will look you up on my fitness pal. I am so glad you don't want my money lol

How is everyone doing so far? What has been your best weightloss moment besides seeing the scale go down?
  9. I had my gastric bypass November 21st 2013. I also had a heller myotomy with a fundiplication wrap for achalasia and hernia repair. My surgery is specialized so my time frame is off. I have had many issues and I am still not on solid foods (almost 4 months). Now I have been told I need to be on a TPN. Has anyone else had to go on TPN? How long did you have to be on it? Any information would be helpful and appreciated

    NEED TPN

Awww that's terrible I hope you get better soon. If you don't mind how long until the TPN helped you feel better? I am desperate to feel better lol

    NEED TPN

Thank you so much. No I have never had one. I am desperate to feel stronger and better. Do you know how long they stay in?

    NEED TPN

It's IV fluids and nutrition. I have been on fluids forever with unsuccessful attempts at purred food and solids. They can't balloon me because I have not healed enough and I have a high risk for rupture.

Hi All My surgery was 11/21 and I am down 78lbs but I have been at a stall for 2 weeks desperately hoping it ends soon I have had a tough go of it and have been on liquids most of the time. I am a special case though I had to have a heller myotomy for achalasia and hernia repairs so my bypass was specialized. I am so glad everyone is doing so well!!! I can't wait to eat food lol. I am concerned with eating too much too quickly what would you say your typical meal size is where you feel good?

Hi had my surgery November 21st I found heating pad and walking helped the most with shoulder pain :-)

    Spitting Up Food

I have a disease called achalasia that causes that to happen. It has to do with digestion. I have read people have developed it after gastric bypass. I am on the other end I have achalasia and in addition to a heller myotomy surgery I am having gastric bypass. Google achalasia after gastric bypass or bariatric surgery to see if it matches your symptoms. Sadly the only thing I know of to truly help is another surgery. Good Luck and God bless
  19. I am sorry your friends reacted that way. I just can't understand that thinking. If someone I care about has something good happen for them even if it's something I want I would still be happy for them. So sad that people are so self absorbed now.
  20. My best friend had lapband and is just not being supportive about my surgery she is actually being kind of mean. It is hurtful and upsetting. I thought this was a journey we could share.
  21. Has anyone had heller myotomy and Gastric Bypass surgery? I will have both on the 21st and wanted to know if anyone went through the same thing
  22. I was recently switched to this surgery and have a month maybe month and a half to prepare. My doctor said any weight loss before surgery is good. I was thinking low carb because I am hoping to be able to avoid carbs after surgery. Did this help anyone else?
  23. Thank you all. I know I am doing the right thing. I am sure it's out of love and concern. I am just emotional now with so much going on so fast. I can't wait for my date
