  1. I have never posted pictures on here because I never wanted to put out what I used to look like as I am no longer that person. I am a new person but have come to terms that I wouldn't be who I am today if I hadn't lived life as a larger person. I also know that when I started out looking at other people's pictures were such at motivation for me so I am hoping these will help someone in return. The picture of me at my largest was after I had my son. I had lost a significant amount of weight before my day of surgery which is the pic of me looking grumpy and in pain. 2 yr mark in 2 weeks!

Absolutely. It is very common especially after the first year. The weight falls off without any problem and then you hit the stair steps where you fluctuate. My Dr. always says it's ok as long as you don't see the scale go up and up and up lol. But usually reevaluating what I am doing helps. I will bust out the food journal and whatnot.
  3. My 2 yr is quickly approaching and I must say this surgery has changed my life! I've never been so happy in all my life. I am at a plateau now and would like to lose 20 more pounds but don't know if that is possible. At this point I feel having excess skin removed is the only way to accomplish that. I need support or advice from someone in the same boat on what to do about the final pounds! I am starting to think it won't be possible as I've already lost almost 150 pounds. 2 yr post op this month!

They always prepare you for this plateau but it is still frustrating. I can't complain too much though because I am very happy and wouldn't change anything. Sent from my SM-S902L using the BariatricPal App

    Zucchini recipes?

So even though I'm currently still in my post op liquid phase I am trying very hard to prepare for normal healthy alternatives in the regular food phase. Does anyone have any ideas for zucchini?? I know of tots and chips which I plan. I am new to zucchini so I'm unsure. I stopped at the farmers market and got super cheap fairly large zucchini...and squash for that matter. I plan on cooking with them now however and seeing how family likes it. Any idea or recipe is greatly appreciated

    upstate ny?

Hi! I will be having surgery the 27th!!! Anyone here in upstate?
  9. So I am scheduled to have gallbladder removal on Oct 1st...still healing from my sleeve. Dr and nurses were astonished that I'm having trouble with my gallbladder lol. Anyone else have surgery so soon after their sleeve? Just out of curiosity. Sent from my SCH-M828C using Tapatalk 2
  10. Before surgery I was a huge Water drinker. I never drank soda...juice was a rarity as well. I occasionally drank crystal light type drinks...but again was not a huge fan of flavored drinks. Milk is always a favorite as well. Now one month post op and I realized I'm having a VERY hard time drinking because I'm bored with water ...the past week I have become HOOKED on Gatorade /powerade. Low cal and calorie free of course. Nothing seems to quench my thirst but this. I have no problems getting fluids this way and have started stocking it. Does anyone share this same issue? Gall stones

Definitely talk to them. I most certainly had them before surgery as I'm only 5 weeks post op. Dr says surgery for the sleeve exacerbated my gall issues. Sent from my SCH-M828C using Tapatalk 2

    Gall stones

Had mine out yesterday. They had a very difficult time with it and I am in extreme pain. It is so much worse for me than the sleeve was. And I have a total of 10 healing incisions now. Hope yours is a much easier procedure. Sent from my SCH-M828C using Tapatalk 2

    Taste for water changed?

I never though in a million years I wouldn't want water as much. I'm sure it will get better. Sent from my SCH-M828C using Tapatalk 2

    Gall stones

Having mine out tomorrow lol. I'm 1 month post op. My Dr doesn't check before for gallstones. Sent from my SCH-M828C using Tapatalk 2
  17. All foods I eat are appropriate ...I don't eat anything I'm not supposed to. I just moved from pureed yesterday. Just because it's on the list doesn't mean it wont bother you. I love eggs but since surgery I have only been able to eat them 1 time without issues. It's a sucky feeling :/ Sent from my SCH-M828C using Tapatalk 2
  18. My coworker sent this to me today! She had the sleeve as well. I wish I new about this before. I have a hard time getting enough as well and Protein shakes were drab long before surgery lol. GOOD luck! Sent from my SCH-M828C using Tapatalk 2
  19. Definitely talk to your Dr and nut ...I am 1 month post op and get very nauseous with many things..I don't throw up...but sometimes I feel like I'm almost at that point. It can be rough and frustrating. Sent from my SCH-M828C using Tapatalk 2
  20. Did anyone experience gas pains for an extended time after surgery?...they are definitely getting better but at this point they are just nagging pains and really irritating. More so than my incisions . I can't take my pain Med (hydrocodone) cuz it makes me dizzy as all heck.
  21. I just bought a bottle from my wl center yesterday at my 2 week post op ...took last night and then this morning. The nausea is temporary but leaves me leaning over the sink because I feel like I'm gonna hurl. Any recommendations?

  23. I am having a tough time getting enough and consciously aware of it...I have good intentions to and have good protein powders but extremely limited to what can be eaten. I'm seriously at the point of crying because I can't stand soup with the hint of protein powder or shakes. I don't like broth and jello I can't stand right now..on top of not wanting to eat past a few sips. Its difficult (BTW I'm 5 days post op)
  24. Getting down to the wire!!! I'm day 5 on my pre op liquid diet. Everything is finally setting in that I'm actually going to do this. This life changing thing and I have so many thoughts that I was dreaming about it last night. I've been wanting this for years. I'm excited and anxious at the same time. One question that comes to mind for me is do you tell people you are having or had it? I'v only told my closest friends and I don't post anything on my social networking sites about it.
