  1. You look amazing!!! Congratulations on the weight loss.
  2. I would love to lose 30 more, but will have to see. I am just happy to have lost what I have already. I am off my meds and feeling really good. I guess it also depends on what the doctor says. I have been going in every other month for a fill because I am staying satisfied longer and at the end of 4 weeks, my band still feels tight enough. I need to sit down and make a list of my favorite foods, and just stick with those as long as they don't get stuck. What are some of your favorites that go down good and don't get stuck?
  3. Welcome back! You are headed in the right direction now! Hang in there . You will get there!
  4. Congrats on the 61 lbs!!! I was banded on Oct 4th, 2013 and I am down 50lbs. I am just like you by not being able to eat breakfast, and choosing foods that aren't the healthiest for me. I don't eat much and I am also not motivated to exercise after working 12 hrs at my job. We need to find a way to motivate each other then!! Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.
  5. Congrats on surgery!! Now the journey begins!
  6. That is awesome!! You look amazing!
  7. After reading your post, I will be calling my doctor on Monday. I was filled 10 days ago and at first thought it was great because I wasn't hungry. Wrong!!! Every time I eat or drink I get this feeling in my throat that there is something there waiting to come up. I get the slime, and eventually puke. There aren't to many things that stay down. I kept thinking it would go away and obviously it won't on it's own. I thought it was great because I dropped 8 lbs since the fill. Well it's not. Will be going in Monday!,
  8. Congratulations!!! That is awesome!! Great story
  9. I really appreciate all your suggestions. Weight is still coming off slow. I am trying to eat more meat to get my protein in. The easiest meat to eat is deli turkey or deli chicken. Veggies have to be cooked. Thanks again for your responses. I go back for another fill next week so will be able to tell if what I am doing works.
  10. Hi Crystal! So what are you eating in a day? This morning I had a problem eating scrambled eggs. It kept getting stuck. I am trying to eat a little more And trying to stay away from processes foods. I don't feel I eat much in a day, no way close to 1200 calories, but the weight doesn't come off. I am Up for any suggestions. I am going to try to eat more fish and more cooked veggies. I will let you know if it works for me. Good luck to you
  11. I received my band October 4, 2013 and have been struggling to lose. I have never lost more than 5 pounds in a month and last month I gained a pound. Usually I lose about 2 lbs a month. I have a job where I spend most my 12 hr shift sitting. I try to walk as much as I can. I feel I just need more support from something that has been through this and understands what I am going through. I have gotten a fill every month since my fill. I do feel restriction at this time. I am just asking for some help and advise from someone
  12. That is awesome!! I was also banded in October and am happy to say that I am down 38 lbs from my surgery date and a total of 43 from when I started this journey! It is so fun to share your joy with others that have the same goals as you do! Congrats again on your accomplishment. Thanks for sharing!! Can't wait to see what we both look like in a year!!!
  13. My weight loss has been very slow. Ony about 2-4 lbs a month which is so slow. I keep telling myself that the slower the better.
  14. I am with B-52!! When I start the hiccups, that is it and I am hoping that I didn't just step over the line. If I stepped over the line, I then get pain in the center of my chest. I can't drink anything when it gets that far. I just sit and try to relax and hope it goes down. I need to realize just because I was always told to eat what is on my plate as a child, I just can't do that now. I started using the small plates and just put on a smaller portion. That is now enough to fill me. These are all the signs you will learn in time. I was banded in October 2013 and I am still learning!! Best of luck to you!!
  15. Good luck to you!!! I was never one for pictures, especially feeling the way I did about myselt when I was heavier. I have found several photos that I was in that I am not to proud of. I was never photographed in a swimming suit!! I can't wait to put one on when I get down to my goal. That is my motivation.
  16. That is awesome!! Best wishes to you.. You will do great!
  17. I agree with Carolinagirl. When I hiccup, it is usually about 4 times in a row and it is because I am to full and have eaten to much. It will take you a little bit to figure the signs out, but you will. I was one that if there was only a couple bites of food left on my plate, I would just try to eat it instead of throwing it away. That is usually when I start with the hiccups. Just work on smaller portions. Best of luck to you!
  18. You look awesome!!! Good job!
  19. I am pretty much the same as everyone else. It only takes one time of getting stuck that you won't want that to happen again. It will probably happen several time, but at least I am more careful. I tend to eat fast and have for years so usually that is the reason I get stuck. I have had 3 fills now and I have to be careful with steak, or just meat in general. I just have to remind myself, sloooowwww down and chew, chew, chew.
  20. Ashley, I love your blog!!! You will definitely keep me motivated!! Thanks
  21. I was also banded in October 2013. I am only down 30lbs but I already feel amazing!! My whole attitude has completely changed. Most of the pain in my knees and back are gone too. Having this surgery was the best decision I have every made! Continued success to both of you!!!
  22. Hang in there. I have had 3 fills and finally feel the restriction longer than a couple of days. Keep watching what you eat and try to eat what I call real food, like cooked veggies, deli turkey, etc. That helped to fill me up. And keep drinking Water. When I start to feel my stomach wanting food, I start drinking more water. That helped to fill me up. Good luck to you!!
  23. I also gained during my first week, then starting losing about a pound a day. Hang in there!!! It will definitly be worth it!!
  24. I didn't have alot of gas pains, but I had pain and swelling by my port site. The heating pad did help me. Hang in there!! It will be worth it!!
  25. I was banded in October 2013, and have had only 1 time that I actually vomited because I had something stuck. That was enough for me to make sure I chew, chew, chew. This is all such a learning process. I was always eating way to fast and that has changed. You will do great!! This group has also helped me alot. Great advise and great ideas to help a person through.
