  1. That's what's up! You look awesome and that feeling of awesome is apparent!!! Great work! :-)
  2. As I said on another forum: CHEEZE-ITS!!! #jesustakethewheel lol
  3. People will never understand the metabolic cycle of obesity....not our job to explain. If dieting and exercising worked for everybody, no one would be fat or unhealthy.
  4. Please keep looking for that chart. That would be helpful and informative to a great many of us!! Thank you! :-)
  5. @@foodfighter78 Oh, I'm glad you are hanging in! You'll be on the loser's bench I no time.
  6. @@armywife79, Its funny because I think she was given the drug for the drug addiction, but its just magically resolved the eating issue as a side benefit. I'm going the PM some other questions if that's ok
  7. Suspend all decisions until the 6 month mark. At least that's what I decided to do. I had significant pain after surgery and i still spit up if something hits wrong and I'm eating to fast. Sometimes I have morning sickness. Sometimes I just wanna eat cheeze-its. I do feel like things are getting back to normal. I'm back at work. Give it time. Things will get better. This too shall pass.
  8. well, I think I'm a low loser over here. I think a lot depends on how fast you are loosing, start weight, the procedure, start weight, age, your bodies metabolic relationship with crash dieting, how effective your exercise is for your specific needs. I weigh myself weekly (a watched scale never drops) and I'm 7 weeks out. I only lost .9 pounds this week with a previous average of 2-3. I've also crash dieted, its the week before my cycle and I'm approaching 40. So, I just decided to Celebrate like a boss my percentage of a pound like I was on Biggest Loser! LOL
  9. @@armywife79, I typically hate anecdoctal stories about *other* people who've have WLS but my cousin had the bypass many years ago. She struggled with drug addiction as well. How she passed a psych eval is really beyond me but that's neither here not there. Anyways, she lost all but 40 of the pounds she wanted to loose and stayed there for many years. up and down just a bit. not consistent and she did have a couple of relapses in there. but they started her on the topomax and she instantly dropped the last 40 pounds and has been doing very well since...
  10. @@foodfighter78, how's it going???? Been thinking about you. Are you feeling like things are falling into place???
  11. So basically you lost 200 pounds??? Uh that's amazing! Congratulations!!!

  19. @@blashlee, I own a home with a pool and I only swim in the dark. We host lots of parties and I'm usually in charge of food. Not this summer **I'm coming out, I want the world to know, I'm gonna let it show** lol I keep thinking of that song!!!
  20. There was a chef in my support group at the hospital where I had the surgery. She was down 70-80 pounds and was very happy with her sleeve. She said that she still fussed over food, needed it to be perfect etc etc. She said that it just helped her not consume so much food in the volumes she previously could and she loves exploring her other hobbies outside of food. I'm definitely a foodie. I know I chose bypass because I wanted a greater chance of resolution of pre-diabetes and high blood pressure. I've also heard people generalize the surgeries into 2 camps. Sleeve for overeater's and bypass for folks with metabolic issues. I can truly say that at 38 I was ready to give up my illustrious affair with sugar and I wanted the surgery that would best aid me in that resolution. Ultimately its up to you and your soon-to-be surgeon. Congratulations, welcome and good luck!
  21. My blood pressure was normal last Friday 120/80 without medications. I've never seen a number so low. So happy!!! I'd go through this over and over again to achieve this result!
  22. Welcome! Glad you are here. Check out the Men's forum. Lots of good info on this site
  23. @@Worrier No. 1, we do still meet in Bothell at the Lyons Den Cafe on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 3-5pm. Next meeting 3/1. I'll message you the details. Hope to see you there!
  24. I'm so new, rules are easy to follow....and some were never gonna work. Stuff I do: + Eat Protein first, 82g is my goal + 30 minutes for liquids on either side of a meal + No grazing + Take 30 mins to eat + No carbonation + eat watching TV 2-3 x/week But I use a timer, it works great + Drink caffeine, I'm in Seattle and no doc was gonna try that! + I chew my food until it s a pulp. Had foamies twice, never again! + I'm not getting enough Water :-( + I drink with straws + I track my food everyday + I don't weigh my food except I do measure condiments dressings, mayo, etc. it's actually a trigger. I weighed my food everyday for 3 years previously. I have a well trained eye for portions. But when I weigh and measure food I get a since of entitlement like I can eat it all, it's mine. And I'm likely to eat it all, rather than toss if full. I was in the denial that I could actually overeat weighed and measured food. It's weird.
