Anyone tatse any non-artificailly sweetened protein drinks?
Thorne makes a decent hemp/pea Protein combo Protein powder thats pretty tasty. As above I think going with a powder may be easiest.

Doubts
laurenanastasia, I just copied and pasted this into a separate document for when I start having regrets or second guessing my decision. So true, food (nor my fat) is NOT a friend and I am ready to let go of my illustrious relationship with food.

Looking for others interested in organic, alternative, holistic approaches to their new life
Hey. I'm down. I've done all sorts of alternative practices over the years -fasting, colonics, juicing, etc. I see a naturopath and acupuncturist for primary care. I'm currently looking into the diamond approach to bolster my waning spiritual practices.

Physician Monitored Hell.. I mean DIE(t)
I'm in the same boat. I don't have specific numbers to lose, I just have to be smaller than I started at each consecutive weigh in. I'm not diabetic, so I know I'll be protein shakes and all green juice the last two weeks, maybe fish and greens for dinner. I'll definitely get a colonic or two. Desperate times..... I got a fitbit and upped my daily steps and stepped up the exercise. It's a necessary evil to get what you want ultimately. If the surgeon is not linked to your insurance, I'd also consider shopping around.

Best app with detailed nutritional breakdown?
Try bodbot. It's a personal trainer, too. I'm not very experienced with it , I use the training function more but I know it tracks omega 3/6 and I believe b12

That's what I'm talking about! Girl ya lookin' good! Not a drop of green on those trees, I hope you weren't cold!- 6 mo doctor approved diet
Using myfitness pal. Getting a fitbit. walking and standing as much as possible as uncomfortable as it is. tracking everything things keeps you accountable. i can't tell you how many times trying to figure out how I was going to log the bites I take off my kid's plate has stopped me from doing it. I have to really let go of my subconscious habit/need? of being the human garbage disposal!! Also, I try to keep gum in the kitchen to help me not take bites while cooking. I have a 3 month half-way in appt in a month and I'm nervous I've kicked it into high-gear this week.- Curious About Soda
I'm sure this is 50 places on this site but its harder to search on my phone app - why no caffeine???? Lawd! I'm from Seattle and that's all we do! And ibuprofen? I know many of us have arthritis. In fact I have a rare and severely degenerative from. Ibup is way more helpful than Tylenol. How are people surviving? I need it to exercise.- Anyone Just Starting the journey?
I'm almost mid way through a 6 month physician directed weight loss attempt for my insurance. They don't specify a number or percentage to be lost. You literally cannot be bigger than when you started and at the middle weigh in you have to be smaller than the first. I think my bmi was over 40 but I do have hypertension, too. I'm drinking protein shakes and chicken breasts. Exercise is hard at this weight but by any means....- MyFitnessPal.com Members
I just started this on Monday and I'm adding all y'all. I pre-op so don't look at my food diary! I'm doing about 1500 cals- Please explain pre-op diet

SnohoGal98296, leave it to the girl from the Pacific Northwest to remind us of stevia! I'm from Seattle. I kept thinking for some reason that aspartame was the gold standard treatment for obesity along with WLS......lol I can hang with stevia for sure.- Please explain pre-op diet
That's what I'm saying. I'm scared about eating sugar free foods, sucralose and all the chemicals. I eat a lot of whole organic foods (I just eat a lot!) Obviously, I'm pre-pre-op- Please explain pre-op diet

Girl ya look mah-venous! Get it!- Finding out you don't qualify
I would definitely go the route of not actually gaining weight! I know some obese people are without symptoms health wise but I'd hardly call it healthy. What about a milkshake the night before a fasting glucose? ? Prediabetes? One of the stipulations of this pre auth phase for me is that I can't be heavier than when I started.- What is your typical day?
Thanks, good tips. I still think I will miss being able to dive head first into a salad. I'll have to be one of the folks who eats real food, tho. Its less tempting for me. A Protein bar will feel like a candy bar. And obviously, I could eat more than one in a sitting. And sugar-free foods makes me want to jump off a bridge into a vat of whatever the "real food" is. Oh well, here's hoping my tastes buds change after surgery.- What is your typical day?
Hey everyone, I'm far from surgery but as I read through people's food, I'm wondering where are the vegetables? I know the focus is on getting enough protein but I'm sitting here eating my lunch of a marinated kale (2 cups) with steak (4 ounces) and avocado a few dried cherries, do I have to say good bye to eating like this with the sleeve? Can anyone eat lettuce or salads still post-op?- 3 month insurance required diet
I'm the same boat you are in except, my insurance requires 6 months. I've been having a difficult time since my 3 yo daughter had to have surgery last week. My sleep is getting slowly better as she is recovering. I started weighing and tracking my food on MFP, walking on lunch breaks and then again on the treadmill at home. At least if I don't loose weight, they can see exactly what I've been eating. If I'm not loosing weight doing all this, I must really be metabolically challenged and desperately need surgery. I think I'm loosing tho.- Pre-auth diet - 6 months to qualify for surgery
46 pounds? Holy lord, but I guess that could happen dropping to 1500 cals per day. Congrats on your efforts- Pre-auth diet - 6 months to qualify for surgery
I was wondering about that....lol- Pre-auth diet - 6 months to qualify for surgery
Hey everybody, I have a provisional acceptance into my insurance's bariatric program (Regence) and I have to loose weight over the next 6 months in order to qualify for surgery. What are some of the things people have tried who’ve been in a similar boat? Are there any resources on this site for what I’m calling a pre-auth vs pre-op diet. Thanks PS. This is my first post after having lurked for a several weeks. - Sassy, Sexy & Fit 1 Year Postop
