  1. I've been a little edgy today about that. My surg is tomorrow and Im slightly panicking that I'm not going to be able to eat. I didn't have a two week pre op diet. My no eating started at 5 this evening and I just keep thinking of all the foods I can't have...it makes me sad. I'm determined to do it though. Guess we gotta think of the benefits when it's all over!
  2. So, I'm sure I'm not the only one but, I really like my food. It just plain tastes good. So, I keep picturing this turning out that (when I'm able) I'm going to eat a couple bites of something I love and just want more. So my question is, if I were to take those few bites, would I REALLY feel full and actually NOT want anymore? I just find that hard to believe. I mean, is it not as much a matter of will power to not eat it or do you really not want anymore?
  3. OMG....I'm glad I read this! I haven't heard that one yet and my surg is in two days. That would've scared me to death! Thanks for this info guys!
  4. That's aweful for your family to treat you like that! So glad you've proven them wrong for 17 years! It's things like that that causes some of our problems. You're doing something to take care of yourself though. Imagine what it'll be like when you do visit again! Unfortunately, my mom does that too. When I was a teen, she would tell me that no boys would ever like me cuz of the way I looked. She still makes comments but is more subtle about it. :-/ Keep doing what you're doing. Maybe when you've lost (not sure where you're at in this process) and feel better about yourself, you can tell them how they've hurt you...might make you feel better.
  5. LOL. My surgery is Tuesday. I have spent the last week eating a meal from each of my fave places. I'm sure gonna miss it! Pick something good for your last "meal". And good luck Wednesday!
  6. July 30th! I'll be the last of the month...maybe.
  7. I wasn't told to lose anything. I think I've gained a couple lbs cuz of my farewell-to-food tour and NOT being told any different. Just low-fat this last week. I hope I'm good enough to go in 3 days!
  8. Am I the only person that did NOT have to do the two week liquid diet, before surg? Wonder why. I assume different docs do different things but it seems like everybody else has to..... 4 days and counting!
  9. Are you serious!? LOL. OMG. Thats horrible.
  10. Mine's July 30th too! You're the first one I've seen with my same date. And I'm sure I'll keep the pics but they disgust me right now!
  11. Well, I just took my "before" pics (my surg is in 5 days). I always avoid cameras and I am truly shocked to see myself now. I was unaware of my true size. Come on 5 days.....
