- JUST GOT THE CALL
Karlam, glad to hear from you! dont worry about the consults, it took me 9 months to get through the SLoad of tests they hsd me go through but im glad it took that long ! it gave me the chance to start changing thing so by the time surgery i was mentally amd physically ready for the journey. i discovered theain reason for my eating was boredom. i wasnt challanging my self..... set goals. plan things. get oit be social. evem if it taking a walk ....just get off the couch and into the game!!!" my post surgery experiemce is the thing movies are made from. i see and feel the changes daily. i have not been this excited and happy with life. i meet with a personal trainer on wendsday im going to hire him for 6 months to help me set a healthy exercise routine that i can fit into my schedule and try to tone to minimize the dreaded SAG if i can be of any help with the pre op jitters ask! oh 2 things 1) try not weigh yoursef 2 much some people dont understand daily weight fluxs between 2 - 3 pounds daily. just work the program and hit your numbers, exercise. and your body will take care of the rest. 2). Stalls happen!they always will! the body is a wonderful self correcting machine, it knows you have changed something and will fight had to hold onto ots gat supply.so change up your routine evety couple of weeks. if you walking? try a light gym work out ( when your surgeon clears you). do some light cardio . ever minute afer 30 minutes is time you are burning fat. let me know how thing progress. im excited you are on your way . its soooooo diffrent on this side....in a very very good way :-) RJ- JUST GOT THE CALL

Hello RNY Talk any good morning to all of my fellow June Post-Opers two things and ill leave you alone for a while . 1) Just put my first batch of vegetarian chili on in the slow cooker . Removed the skins and seeds from all of the offending veggies and things like onions carrots and celery they met their end in my blender ... muuhhh ha ha ha ...Eight hours from now ill have a mushy bean filled protein filled dinner for at least the next week or so. ...mental note: need to freeze some!! I'm amazed how my perspective has changed, 9 months ago 4 quarts of chili would have lasted me maybe 2 or 3 days ..... now 4 quarts is meals for 2 weeks or more ... Very happy with this change ( Yea Me! ) 2) First off this is not an advert or promotion!!!!! I just have been using this web site to by my protien and vitamins for several months and it has been an excellent experience so i thought i would share it with all of you you . Trust me i would not share anything i have not had a world class experience with ( I'm kind of a real pain in the ass with things like that ) . Its also is more than protien powder and vitamins it all things healthy . I am including the web address in case you want to take a look . Good prices free shipping for orders over 35 dollars.( within the USA) .... I believe they are based in North Carolina ... Im In the Philadelphia area and i get delivery in approx 5 days ...... hope it helps some one . http://www.vitacost.com/ Best Regards RJ- June Post Ops!
Well yesterday i took my pouch out for a spin in the realm of food in my everyday life. im happy to report all went very well. Met a very good friend Lisa for lunch at a local Deli. after reviewing a rather vast menu i found the only thing they had on the menu i could eat was 2 eggs. no problems eating them took my time. Had half a piece of whole wheat dry toast ( chewed 60 times every bite) . and approx 10 teeny tiny hash brown cubes ( equally pulverized before swallowing) . The biggest no-no was a black ice coffee. while it was 2 points shy of nervana it will never pass these lips again. After doing the research last night i found there are a host of reasons why RNY patients like you and i should NOT drink coffee. I suggest you look them up if you are considering starting to add coffee back into your routine. I bring this up because when my Surgical team told me NO COFFEE without a real explanation....well lets say i have had a problem with that all my life. give me facts and im cool with it..... but do it because we say so! ahhh your kidding right? thought i would share that for what its worth. i guess my point is we have to live in this big world and the healthy nutritional ( bubble) enviroment that we have created post surgey will not always be avaible. So make smart decisions! Eat healthy amd speak up! Now a days deli's, restarants, diners , cafes will prepare food to meet our needs without any problems. Have a peaceful cool Sunday RJ- June surgeries!
Yea , I know what you mean about confused , I just work the numbers . is the over all numbers work , i ll give it a try less than 20 carbs less than 5 grams of fat more than 15 grams of protein and less than 240 on the sodium ... Giddy up ! I stay way clear of any canned fruits and fruit in yogurt to much fructose , and sweeteners , I go natural or organic fruits, and knock wood so far so good . in the end it all goes into the blender and no chunks ....its smooooooth :-) RJ- June surgeries!
Not sure if you have this food store chain near you, but GIANT has a greek yougurt ( plain - 18 Grams Vanilla- 16 Grams of protien) low low sugar and virtually no carbs....most greek yougurts are HIGH in protien, throw in some fat free milk, some rasberries , banana, cherries. ....you now have a smoothie that has at least 24- 25 grams of protien ( just be careful some people after RNY become lactose intolerant) hope this helps RJAccount
