quick question
I was told 1 1/2-2 weeks, but that you must be off pain meds. I'm ten days out and I have not driven. I could if I needed to, but I'll likely give it a full 2 weeks.

What are your favorite products?
I'm only 10 days out, but I already have a few. I do not like Isopure, but most of us seem to use it early on. My favorite flavors are punch, blue raspberry, and grape. I love Kroger's Carb Masters yogurt. They have great flavors like spice cake and banana cream pie. The price is pretty good, too! I haven't used a ton of protein powders, but I do like Unjury's chocolate. I also bought their plain to add protein to some foods. Last of all, I like Bariatric Advantage's lemon calcium chews. They are expensive, so I'll switch to pills in a few weeks, but for now, on the puréed stage, they are like getting 2 Starbursts for dessert after meals. What are your favorite finds?

June Post Ops!
Congrats on getting through day 1! I'm 10 days out and each day has gotten a little better. Hang in there, drink those fluids, and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it!!

8 Days Out- No Loss
Thanks so much for the replies. I know I'll get there and I'm so grateful for what's been a pretty smooth recovery. I am fine with losing a little more slowly, as long as that doesn't mean I stall out and stop losing before I'm at or near goal. I hope to lose about 120 pounds, so I've got a long way to go. I will keep on a positive path!

8 Days Out- No Loss
I know I just need to be patient, but it's so hard. Usually, I'm a very patient person. Perhaps, those 9 days of nothing but liquids knocked the patience right out of me!!

8 Days Out- No Loss
I had surgery 8 days ago. I initially gained at least 7-8 pounds in fluids. My weight today was about 1 pound lower than the morning of surgery. I know, I know, I shouldn't have weighed myself, but I did, and it's so disappointing. I feel like I'm following the plan really well.

June Post Ops!
My RNY was 6/18/13, here in the Indianapolis area. Things have gone much better than expected. I don't think my pain level ever got over a 3-4. My abdomen is still tender and moving around still hurts, but it's improving. My surgeon also took out my gallbladder and repaired a hernia, so I'm not sure how that may have affected me. I did gain about 10 lbs. in IV fluids and that seems to be coming off. Getting the required fluids and protein is a challenge, but I'm doing reasonably well. Get to start puréed foods today!! I cheated a little and had a scrambled egg for dinner last night. It's on my puréed list, so it was only 12 hours early! It went down without problem. Hope to try cottage cheese today. I'm so excited to see where this journey takes me.

How to get out of bed
Thanks for all if the advice. Rolling onto my side first does seem to help. Not sure why I hadn't thought of that. It helps that the pain continues to subside. Good luck to all and thanks again!

Help!
- How to get out of bed
I'm currently five days out. I had RNY, my gallbladder removed, and a hernia repaired. I am still quite bloated. My weight is about 2-3 pounds higher now than on the day of surgery, due to all the fluids they pumped into me. I'm doing quite well, but getting up from a flat position is still very hard. My husband heads back to work tomorrow, and he's been helping me get up, so I'm a little worried. Any tips for me?- Surgery today
Hi, Hope your surgery went well. I had mine yesterday at 10:30 also. Mine is going well so far. Pain isn't too bad, nausea is going away, and I'm up and walking. How about you? ~Pam- June surgeries!
Another teacher here....my surgery is schduled for June 18th. Just had all the pre-op medical tests done yesterday. That was a tough day, not because of horrible tests or bad results, just because I felt stressed. Getting excited and nervous. ~Pam - How to get out of bed
