Thank you. My mother will be there to help me so if I need something she will gladly get it for me but I don't want to burden her too much. So I just want to be as prepared as possible beforehand.

So I got my approval Friday afternoon after being denied that Monday and now I can breathe a bit easier!! My surgery date is set for September 16th pending final medical clearance! SO! Now I need help. What should I be buying in preparation for this surgery. What should I have at home for when I come home?

No I'm sure every person who's struggled with weight feels like this to some degree. I cannot wait to see the look on people's face when I hit m goal weight! I think I'll get a shirt that says "Eat Your Heart Out"

They told me that when people get denied the 1st time around the surgeon or Bariatric Nurse can ususally just call and verbally explain any discrepancies and then they will authorize the procedure. So call your surgeon and see what's next. I FREAKED out (as you can tell)and it's only been one week and my office got it all worked out.

Just got a call from the Bariatric Nurse and she got it approved!!!! Whoooooo! She had to call them verbally explain that I was not offered the prescription drug to surpress my hunger (which is why they denied me). She said as of right now my date is 9/16 which is the earliest date my surgeon has available!

Called the Bariatric Nurse today and she said they denied me because I was never on some hunger supressant medication but it was never offered to me. She said that I was not required to even be on that medication (i forget the name). So she is about to call the insurance back now and then follow-up with me. Ugh.

Thank you tiny! I'm going to be so disappointed if this doesn't work out. What the hell have these past 7 months been for?!

Called the doctors office and they said the bariatric nurse is on vacation until tomorrow so she will get back with me. ????

How long did that take?

Did you have to do your nutrition appointments all over again?

Well I was told that BCBS isn't too picky. I'm hoping it was lack of paperwork or something for me. Good luck!!

The letter said I failed to prove that I failed non surgical weight loss methods. What have I been doing for 7 months?! I listed all the failed diets I've done...

Just got my letter from my insurance and I was denied! What do I do next? I'm crushed.
