  1. Way to go!! Amazing how being comfortable in your body has such a HUGE effect on self confidence!! I hope you get the job!
  2. I took two weeks off and planned to go back half days on week three. By the end of week three I was back full time. I felt too good to sit at home and do nothing!!
  3. I am just past 3 months out. My clinic's diet plan is one of the most restrictive I have seen on this site. I will tell the key to feeling well is Protein, Water and Vitamins. Make sure that you are getting all of your vitamins EVERY day. Do your best to get at least 60 ounces water a day and 50 grams of protein. You will work up to more. The water and protein is a GOAL. Don't beat yourself up if you don't make it every day. REMEMBER TO EAT PROTEIN FIRST! The sandwich might have gone down OK, but you need that space in your pouch for protein. Even now I only have one tablespoon of fruit, veggie, or starch with any meal. At three weeks 1 ounce of lunch meat was a meal. I still have not had more than a small bite of bread. You obviously have worked hard to have the surgery, and made it through. Call your clinic for help if you need it. You are just beginning this journey. I can tell you after three months that I have not felt as well as I do today in years!! RNY 6/25/13. HW 331; SW 292; CW 228; GW 150
  4. I agree!!! I don't know what I would do if I hadn't found this site!! It is one of the first things I recommend to anybody looking to have RNY. Although, I think I especially lucked out with the June group. This group ROCKS!!!
  5. CONGRATS!!! Wonderful way to celebrate! I finally got there last week, and I can tell you it is really a wonderful feeling!!
  6. Oh, I should give you the other details! The shake has 160 calories, only 1 gram of sugar, 5 grams carbs, and 24 vitamins & minerals. I think it is a lot of bang for my buck!!
  7. They only have two flavours, chocolate and vanilla. I have only used the chocolate. I find them to be OK. I have tasted better shakes, but since I only have to drink about 5 ounces twice a day, it works fine for me. They cost about $1.00 each, and like I said are sold at Sam's Club. I will say they are VERY filling!!
  8. I drink one shake a day. It is an 11 oz shake with 30 grams of protein (Premier Protein sold at Sam's Club). I normally split it so I drink half in the morning and finish it in the evening. My protein goal has been 50 grams per day. At my 3 month they bumped it to 60. By my 6 month I am suppose to be up to 80. By then though I will be able to have 1/2 cup per meal. Of course nearly all of that is protein.
  9. I can certainly see why!! You look terrific!
  10. Thanks everybody for all the well wishes! I hope all of you enjoy a terrific fall weekend! Keep on keeping on!!
  11. Well, I promised I would post this here first. The scale reported this morning that I have officially lost 100.2 pounds!! Feels great that I can FINALLY say I have lost 100 pounds instead of ALMOST 100 pounds!! I wanted the number for my 3 month yesterday, but the real goal was the end of the month, and that I did! This weekend hubby and I are going away for a romantic weekend at a bed and breakfast. Now we can celebrate our 19 year wedding anniversary and my fist 100 pounds lost!!
  12. Well, my 6 month appointment was this morning. I unfortunately did not quite make my goal. I could not have been much closer as I am currently down 99.6 pounds. So even though I have not had that amazing feeling of being down 100 pounds yet, I know it will only be a matter of days. I did find out that I have lost 25 inches between my neck, waist and hips. My new goal is to spend New Years Day in onederland. I will also admit that I have seen the weight loss slow down this month. I had been averaging about 5 pounds a week. Since the first of September I have lost 15 pounds. Still a good loss, but definitely slower. I just need to keep reminding myself that this is a journey not a sprint!
  13. Congratulations!!! Keep up the great work!!
  14. And here's to even more good days! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
  15. You know, I have actually been thinking about doing that. I think next spring would be the soonest, but it has never even been something I thought I would want to try before! Kudos to you for going for it!!
  16. Went to my clinic's support group meeting last week. Speaker was sales rep for Bariatric Advantage. He said also Zinc plays a role as well in hair loss. The have a new multi vitamin that has been formulated just for RNY patients. New to the market in August. The chewable is coming in November.
