  1. As long as the scale is going downward, instead of upward, you should be happy.
  2. Mia, I will keep you in my prayers. Let us know how you are doing.
  3. What is Zumba? Sounds interesting.
  4. I like to use Anywhey protein supplement from GNC and 2 packets of Swiss Miss Diet Cocoa (50 calories) Mix with water and ice and it is good!
  5. I guess all of my sweating has finally paid off...finally lost 2 pounds after about a two month long plateau! Yay!
  6. In our society, overweight people are often ignored. It is like we aren't even there! I have noticed that people look at me more now that I am a somewhat normal size. It is sad, but it happens. We just have to be able to weed out the bad apples who only see us for what we look like, not who we are on the inside.
  7. ARRRRRGGGGGG! I went right to the site and tried to order it, but their system must be down right now as they were unable to process my order. BUMMER!
  8. Hi all. I want to start by saying how thankful I am to be banded! I have never liked exercise. I hate sweating, and exhersion doesn't appeal to me! That being said, since banding and losing the initial weight, I decided to start working out. First I used the elliptical in my home that was so lonely for so long. After about 6 weeks, I got bored, so now I have joined a gym. Very nice place with all the amenities I could want. I have been there almost every day since joining! I am no longer dreading getting sweaty. I am no longer hitting the snooze on my alarm clock 42 times cause im so tired. I feel like a new person. I guess I am a gym rat...hahaha
  9. This is a good thread... I joined a gym and have been going daily. I will do cardio 6 days per week and weight training 3 days per week. I may throw in a class or two also! Mon. Cardio - 30 min upper body Tues. Cardio 50 min. lower body and abs Wed. Cardio 50 min. full body (I plan to go full body weight training on Mon, Wed and Fridays) P.S. I'm not a big weight lifter, just want to do lots of sets with moderate weight so that I can tone up nicely
  10. I dont get hungry until around 3-4 hours for the most part. Some days I am just hungrier than others though.
  11. I try to get in 1200 calories a day. It is important to maintain a balance, expecially if you are working out. You have to eat to stoke your metabolism. My trainer at the gym insisted that I eat about 2600 calories a day! NOT GONNA HAPPEN LADY! (of course, her goal for me was to lose 25 pounds in 6 months!)
  12. I have the APL and am now filled to 7cc with good restriction. I am pretty much able to eat almost anything, however, i fill up fast and dont eat as much. Also, my ticker hasnt been moved in a long time because I started exercising and have decided to not weigh for at least a month, sothat I can keep working out and not get discouraged if the losses arent what I expected. So I am not sure how much I have lost, but I went from a tight size 22 jeans and a 3X top to a comfy size 16 jeans and a comfy 18 top.
  13. Have you gotten any takers on your bodybugg?
  14. I'm sorry if i missed the time, I know we are meeting Feb 7th at Ruby Tuesday, but what time? Thanks.
  15. I cant see the port, but I do feel it easily since there isnt a lot of thick skin or fat over it. Fills are easy, I have never had a problem - Ive had two.
  16. Ok, no one is going to believe this, but mine is on my left side, right above my left breast. If you were pledging allegiace, and put your hand over your heart (like you did in elementary school), it is right below your hand. My doctor pioneered this, and I really don't know the reason for it, but it is very convenient. I don't know how I would do with a port in my tummy area somewhere.
  17. Obsessive or not, I admire you!
  18. I do drink plenty enough water, but I did figure Iwould need to up my caloric intake a little. That is what I am now working on. And I am a scale junky, so I took it out of my bedroom and put it u nder a dresser, don't plan to weigh until at least February.
  19. I'm gonna flip out! I began working out about 3-4 weeks ago, and I mean HARD! I do the elliptical at least 4-6 times per week for 45 minutes or more, and I do 20 min. of pilates about 5 times per week. I have not lost a pound in about 2 weeks and I am getting pretty ticked. I have kept my caloric intake right at 1000 per day, with maybe 2 - 3 slip-ups. What the heck am I doing wrong? I keep my protein intake to more than 60 grams, keep my carbs as low as possible. No refined carbs. What the heck is going on? I need someone to give me an idea of what to do to break a plateau. I have lost between 40-45 pounds, and need to lose about 80 more!
  20. Hi all. Well, I hate to even say it, but with my foot the way it is, having surgery and all, I jsut cannot run at the weight I am now. Maybe when I get to around 180 I will try again. The doc said I will always have trouble and he is right. I absolutely HATE to admit defeat! I am still working out religiously with my elliptical and pilates, so I am still getting in activity. Good luck to all, and I hope in a few months Iwill be able to try again.
  21. Wait 'til you get Guitar Hero III...It rocks!
  22. I work out at home. I have joined gyms in the past, so many times, and never end up going. I feel very self conscious being in a room with a bunch of strangers and exercising. I have a treadmill, elliptical, Firm dvds and transfirmer, pilaties stuff, the balance ball, and other stuff too and use them all! I have gotten to the point where I make sure and work out every day. I dont LOVE to exercise, but I do love that I am doing it.
  23. I am pretty flexable when it comes to where we go. Just let me know.
  24. That is so awesome Mindy. I bet you would agree that exercise makes a world of difference!
  25. Hi all. I am 37 and live in Georgia. I was banded in October, 2007. I remember on my birthday, December 31, I looked in the mirror and thought to myself that this was the last birthday I will have as an overweight person. It felt good to realize that.
