  1. I am 1 year post op. What daily pills do you take? Was just curious.
  2. So I am 1 year out from bypass. Here lately I have been experiencing more and more camping pain in lower belly. To the extent of me getting into a fetal position and hoping it goes away. I can not stand straight up because it hurts. When gas comes out, it is a relief but pain comes right back. I have not been 100% on the no sugar thing. I notice it happens on the days that I had sugar. This morning I ate a donut. By 2:00 I felt the pAin coming. Now it is 10:30 and I am hunched over in severe pain. Is this due to sugar? Dehydration? Something else? Plus when I do have sugar, I really don't dump immediately.
  3. Tomorrow is my 1 year. Plus my 1 year post op appointment. Can not wait to weigh on doctors scale. I just love the new me!!!
  4. I struggle with carbs. I crave dry carbs like goldfish type crackers. I try not to eat that much but I can not help myself. I also discovered that drinking while eating helps me get food down but the doctors tell my not to drink 30 minutes before and after I eat and not to drink at all during meals. I started back on caffeine again and the doctor told me not to drink it. Coffee is my friend. I also struggle with getting the new skinny me to the gym. If I get to the gym I am ok...it is just getting there. On a positive note: I really do love the new me. I would like to loose a few more pounds before I hit my 1 year surgery mark. I ride a bike and don't have to worry about making the tires flat. I am active at home with the kids and that is amazing. One more thing, I still have not had a soft drink. I am really proud of that!
  5. I started cycling this season/summer. I ride once a week about 25 miles. I really enjoy it and it is a good way to burn calories because I am not a runner. In 2 weeks i am riding in a fundraiser...40 miles.
  6. My surgery was 10/9 and I went from size 24 to 14/12...mainly 12 now. I am at 162 and still working on the new me. I had a slow loss the last few months but I am back on track and the last few weeks the weight has starting dropping again. Getting excited again.
  7. I have UHC and would love to know. Maybe I will call them tomorrow.
  8. Just went shopping for a event tomorrow night. Was size 24....now size 12. Surgery was Oct 9.
  9. Anyone from Evansville or the area that want to meet and have our own support group?
  10. I love MFP. Been using it for a month now.
  11. I am 6 months out from bypass. I was looking over all my pre paperwork. I can not seem to find my answer. What is your calorie intake on a daily basis. I know we are supposed to watch sugars, carbs, proteins and stuff like that. I would like some type of number for my calories to watch also. Can anyone help?
  12. Plus save an additional 5% if you use your Target card.
  13. I was curious, I am a major fluid drinker. I get all my fluids in everyday and even then some. My question is can drinking too much fluids stretch your belly like over-eating can? I am 5 months out.
  14. I know Deaconess has a support group for their own patients but if you are ever interested in getting together after surgery let me know. There are a few of us in town that did not go to local surgeons but still need support from others. Deaconess will not extend their group to "non" deaconess patients.
  15. I will have mine in Evansville at Downtown Deaconess. Dr Haughn is my surgeon.
  16. I am from Evansville. Had my bypass in Indy this past Oct. where is your surgery?
  17. Help!!! I can not stop nibbling and grazing. Surgery was in October and I have done well. The only problem is this past month I can not stop putting food in my mouth. This is driving me nuts. I eat crackers, fruit, protein bars, goldfish, anything and almost everything. I have stayed away from candy, cakes and any other tasty candy type things. I really can not tell if I am hungry or just want to eat because of what other reasons. Any suggestions!?!? Do I need more fluids, more protein, more activity, adjust vitamins? I don't want the old me back so please help.

  22. I agree with Cherry. If you like and can tolerate what you are drinking, by all means keep at it. Those co-workers are nurses? They should understand and be used to smells. Keep on keeping on!!!
  23. I did RNY because after the research I did, more people long term was successful with this. Also as started earlier, I wanted consequences if I ate something wrong.
