Hi everyone i am in the UK and had my band fitted on 27th September 07 in Belgium,on day of surgery i was 374 pounds and now 7 weeks later i have lost 51 pounds.I feel good not hungry no fill as yet and energy levels feel good,i average around 875 calories per day which i feel is on the low side but i feel good at this level so for now i will stick with it

Hi Christine i have purchased a mountain bike Specialized hardrock sport,i am now 334 pounds when i started i was 374 i do on average 10 miles a day and love it.I suffer from severe ostioarthritis so can walk only very short distances but on the bike i have no problems you go girl and enjoy.I am in the UK by the way and it is now dark at around 4pm but i still get out and exercise Mike

Hi Wasa i would like to ask how to keep carbs below 30g a day.I am 5 weeks post op and losing well,keep a fitday food journal each day but can not see how to do this,please keep in mind i am in the UK so cannot get the same foods or brands you can.I see how well this as worked for you and though i am doing realy well 35 pounds in 4 weeks,maybe it would help me lose more Mike

I have new Inamed AP band they come in 2 sizes APS small is 10cc and APL large is 14cc

I have 189 to lose,going to be a long hard slog but i will get there Mike

Becymein i chose Belgium as the surgeon is world renowned and has carried out 8,500 operations, and the price here in the UK is around 9000 pounds sterling,in Brugge i paid 4000 pounds and i am 100% happy with my choice.I am 4 weeks post op and down 35 pounds Mike

Well i month now and lost 35 pounds since my op on 26 September

The size of band used is determined by the anatomy of the patient when the surgeon can see the size of the stomach and ammount of fat around it

I was banded on 9/26 and have lost 32 pounds all post op,still not feeling hungry but have Pbd twice due to eating too fast

Hi Foxy yes head huger is a problem,keeping busy takes my mind off it,i ahe had 2 weeks pre op diet of sahkes 2 weeks post op clear liquids and now i have 2 weeks mushies before i can eat real food.My port is still painfull too it seems to be normal to feel pain for around 6-8 weeks from the port site.I do have regrets.........that i did not do this years ago and would do it again tomorrow.
