I have been fat since I was 4 years old. I tried every diet you can think of to no avail. Then in 2006, I had the lapband placed. I lost 60 lbs over 18 months and was doing great until I got stuck on a piece of asparagus, vomited, and the band slipped up over my esophagus. It took my surgeon at the time 9 months to acknowledge there was a problem. I had the band replaced but it has not worked for me since. I am so happy to finally be getting it removed. this has been a long 7 years. I am going with the gastric bypass. I know I will have success with this because I am motivated and was having success prior to problems with band slippage.
