  1. Yay! I finally got my juicer. Looking forward to making things... anyone have good recipes?
  2. Good luck tomorrow! I know you will be just fine. Piece of cake! A thousand pieces of cake magically being removed from your body! You can do this and you will be great!
  3. Had my surgery on Friday...anyone noticing word body temperature Ups and downs? Hot/cold? No fever...could be that I started my period... Its just strange...
  4. I am a total needle phobe..and I ask very much a low pain threshold person..And I will tell you the hardest part of the needles was the iv.. The pain was not too bad. I'm home since Friday and didn't fill my pain prescription. I almost never used the pain pump at the hospital...I used it because I had a headache. It hurts like menstrual cramps. Not horrible
  5. I'm praying it goes well for you! Get your rest while in the hospital
  6. Torn rags soup..like my grandma used to make for the babies..was a nice lunch. Bring chicken broth to a boil...scramble an egg in a cup...pour into the boiling chicken broth whip up with a fork to keep the egg really soft while on mush/liquids... got the protein if an egg and some from the broth. Nice warm and filling.
  7. I did okay with a low sodium V8. 1180 Mg of potassium and some veggies.
  8. Honestly..everything tastes strange. I bought Biotin chewable that I loved before the surgery...but it tasted entirely too sweet and sour at the same time after the surgery. It almost gagged me. I'm still okay with the chocolate ones... But the fruity ones are too much.
  9. Yes the grape was hard tasting. I liked the apple melon. They are a bit expensive, but not as heavy as a shake when you have to get in your protein. Anyone know of anything comparable?
  10. Day 1 at home went okay... So much more comfortable in my bed! I slept like I was in a coma... I drank 1 Isopure and 1 -8 Oz protein shake made with skim milk to met over 80 protein. For some reason, I craved skim milk to drink and was able to drink another 8 ozs.. Sipped water all day. So far so good, and lost 10 lbs since my hospital stay. I'm feeling do much better
  11. You can have your nurse disconnect the IV to put your shirt on... Or just go with the hospital gown and wear pajama pants. Having an easy pair of slippers was nice too...you will be doing a bit of walking around. I was very sleepy must of the time, so enjoy the rest and be as comfy as possible
  12. Just got home! Had my surgery on April 3 (wed)...not too bad at all! I was a little sore and didn't find the need much for the pain pump. It was very stuffy in the hospital but i'm clearing up now that i'm home. I'm working on drinking my first Isopure for the first 40 grams of protein! I feel so much better here at home! Hope everyone else is doing well!
  13. On my way to the hospital....i'm a bundle of nerves.... Definitely the feeling you may have right before you jump out of a plane! I will let you all know how it goes....and if my parachute opens successfully... :-)
  14. Thanks...my daughter called and made me feel so much better..she helped me focus on why I went down this path... I need to get healthy and I need to be positive. I'm glad she called... Not sure if I'll ever sleep tonight...
  15. Thank you so much! I am freaking out right now...i'm scared! Really scared! Am I doing the right thing?
  16. My doctor is not requiring me to be on a pre op diet... It had me worried, so I called him again, to be sure..and i'm still all set for Wednesday...
  17. And i'm still the only one on the 3rd.... What a roller coaster of emotions!
  18. The reflux would comr out my nose in the middle if the night while I was sleeping..it was horrible! I would never begrudge anyone making the decision.... But it was a total mistake for me
  19. How are you? I'm nervous!
  20. I had the lap band...and my stomach kept protruding up through the band. First time, I was completely blocked...when I went to the hospital, they told me I had absolutely minimal traces of potassium in my body... The IV to replace it was so painful... The band was "fixed"...and then the port flipped...got that "fixed"... Then got totally blocked again...so they removed the band due to stomach erosion...its been out for a few years now...and I gained back the 80 I lost, and another 30 ... The band was horrible for me! I'm having RNY done next Wednesday 4/3! Scared as heck...! Please pray for a good surgery for me (and everyone else!)....
