Scars from lap band & a Tummy Tuck
Did they suture your ab muscles back together as well? I'm worried that will make it even more painful! I'm very concerned with the amount of pain I will have after the operation and how long I will be unable to do for myself! I am scheduled for June 24th to have a TT along with seeing my ab muscles back together, a breast lift/breast augmentation under the muscle and arm lift... I'm excited to be getting a new body but scared to death of the recovery!!!

Headache
Yes... Narcotics can cause rebound headaches when you take it regularly! It's kinda like your body saying I need more drugs! Once you either stop or taper it off the headaches should go away either immediately or within a few days.

Late night food porn channel
Right after I had my RNY last march I came home. I could only drink water at that point then full liquids... BUT I was addicted to The Food Network Channel.. It was torture to me, but I couldn't get enough of watching all the delicious food and wishing I could eat it!!! That lasted a few months then I just stopped watching it!

Plastic Surgery Scheduled for June 24!
I live near Hampton Roads area in Va and I'm using Plastic Surgery Center of Hampton Roads. Dr. Vonu to be exact. He said the scars should fade nicely to almost invisible because of my skin time and my previous scars. .

Plastic Surgery Scheduled for June 24!
No I'm not afraid!! I wish I could get a inner thigh lift as well but he said that's one too many procedures and I will have to wait for that one! Oh well! He said because I am in such good health and my body is in such great shape I will do great having multiple procedures at once. I know it will suck having to wear compression garments during the summer but I will just stay in the AC for the most part while healing so I should e ok. I am scared of the pain but I know that it will be ok after a while! As for the implants.. I am currently wearing a 32dd from Victorias Secret, but the cup had become to big... You can see my chest wall and my rib cage at the top portion of my breast and there's not much at the bottom. He said after the lift I will be lucky if they are even a B cup... There's just no breast tissue left at all! So that's why I am having implants placed under the muscle ! We are going back and forth between 325 and 350cc's...

Plastic Surgery Scheduled for June 24!
Ok I finally have my plastic surgery scheduled for June 24th! I'm going to be having a full tummy tuck, breast lift with augmentation( he's going to run the incision along the side of my boob as well because I used to have side fat which is now hanging skin) and also getting my arms done! I'm soo excited and can't wait till the day comes!! This was a shock as I didn't know how I would be able to afford it... My 5 year anniversary was Tuesday and my husband gave me a card with the exact amount of money for the procedure in it and said go get your surgery honey !!! I cried I was soo happy!!

Ladies, what do you consider your ideal dress size ?
I always thought at my height my ideal pant and dress size would be a size 4-6 but apparently my body thinks a 0 is ideal!

Do they not make dresses with long sleeves anymore?
Oh...Lol !!! Well thanks again! I love seeing pics of everyone in there pretty dresses!!!
-
Do they not make dresses with long sleeves anymore?
I'm sorry if anyone mistook me showing a pic of myself( as an example as others before me did to show how you can cover a sleeveless dress) as stealing a thread... That was never my intention at all... I was simply trying to show an example... And for the record I think everyone who posted an example looks beautiful in there dresses!! And thank you for the complement!!

Do they not make dresses with long sleeves anymore?
I have that problem too! Summer is coming and all these dresses are sleeveless!! My hubby bought me this white I guess it's called a shrug or whatever and it works well to hide my bat wings ! They come in different colors!

surgery switch not welcome news
I only had a few episodes in the very beginning only because I drank too fat or ate jello too fast!! It wasn't fun but I learned very quickly! Once you get to know your pouch and what it can handle you will learn what it likes and doesn't and if you follow your surgeons guidelines and don't try and test the waters you will be fine!

surgery switch not welcome news
I wanted to add that my reflux was gone as soon as surgery was done!!! Haven't had any heartburn or reflux associated with the GERD since immediately following the surgery just as my surgeon promised!

surgery switch not welcome news
I just wanted to share my story with you... I originally wanted the sleeve... My surgeon told me that because of my GERD and my severe gastroperesis I couldn't get it that the only solution to fix the Gastroperesis was the RNY since it was soo severe and none of the other solutions weren't working. I had many reservations about getting RNY but I trusted my surgeon and gastroenterologist and went ahead and did it... It's been over a year now.. I've lost over 120lbs... I feel amazing!! My stomach works again and digest all my food( no more gastropareris) I don't have any GERD whatsoever and I have taken nexium since the day before my surgery!!! I have had no complications caused from getting the bypass... I did get an ulcer but it was cause by the H. Pylori bacteria and my surgeon treated it with a 2 week cycle of 2 very strong antibiotics and 2 months of carafate... But besides that one tiny hiccup, life has been great!! I wouldn't count out a great tool because one or two people had a bad experience! The majority come out just as happy and healthy as those who have the sleeve!! We just have to take a few extra vitamins each day! Good luck !!!

Calcium Citrate: What do you use?
Yes, especially if you had RNY. Our new pouches do not absorb calcium carbonate so it is very important to make sure you get calcium citrate! Most chewables I have seen are calcium carbonate so they won't help at all unfortunately.

Gastric Reflux Post Op... A Survey
I had acid refux ( GERD) for over 10 years on Prilosec then nexium. I had it really bad to the point that I would wake up in the middle of the night choking on my own vomit.. Literally the day I had my RNY it was completely gone and I have been off my meds since the day of surgery with no acid reflux whatsoever ! 100% gone !
