Ok I am 12 days post op and I had gained over 20 lbs of excess fluid in the hospital. Well I lost all that and have now lost about 13 lbs. on top of that. I tried on some pants that used to be tight and they are now baggy in the legs and butt... But I can't zip them. I know my stomach is still bigger then before surgery, almost twice the size!!! So I am assuming that its still swollen. Am I correct, and when will it go back to normal ? It's kinda frustrating to see weight melting off except my stomach being bigger than before surgery!!!

OMG... I thought I was the only one!!! I can't get enough of them and its funny cause I could have cared less before surgery but now post op its the closest thing to actually eating that I can get!!!

At first it took me like 30 min to sip 1 oz, right after surgery!!! Now I'm almost 2 weeks post op and I can sip 1oz in 10 min which is right on target with what my surgeon and nut said. As time progresses you will be able to drink more faster and also hold more at a time. By a year they told me I will be able to hold 1/2 to 1 cup per meal, depending on the person.

The physc exam is just speaking with the psychologist and they ask you questions but really all they are doing is seeing if you completely understand the surgery and if you have realistic expectations and also to see if you have any eating disorders.. I had to fill out a questionaire that seemed to never end but its not bad at all and she told me after we talked I would definitely pass! Good luck Hon!!!

To all those getting ready for your surgery... You will be in my prayers!!! And I also wanted to let you know I packed everything I could think of and honestly the only thing I used was my phone and charger and clothes home and shampoo, conditioner and my own body wash!!! Good luck to all on your journey to your new and healthier life!!! I am soo glad I made the choice and you all will be too!!! Not even 2 weeks post op and I already feel much better!!!

I had no choice when it came to which surgery as my surgery had to be RNY because I had gastroparesis and GERD. Had I had a choice, I still would have chosen RNY over sleeve or banding because the sucess rate was much greater and I like many other need the dumping syndrome to keep me in check!

So I'm am 10 days post op and was cleared to stay purée stage yesterday.. Well today was very hectic and I don't think I got even 20 oz. of water in and only 1 protein shake at 4:30pm. I had about 1 1/2 oz. of puréed chicken and green beans at 1:30 by 7 I felt hungry for the first time since surgery and after I ate dinner.. Another 1 1/2 oz. of puréed food I felt hungry again about an hour later. My question is, is this normal or am I feeling hungry because I didn't drink enough today or get my protein in?? This is really bothering me because I don't want I mess up or stretch my new pouch.

Yeah I smell things nobody else does but my dr. Said that's normal

Ok I'm 10 days post op and was cleared to do purée stage yesterday. I have a question... Is it too early for me to feel hungry? I haven't felt hungry at all until now and I had 1 1/2 Tbsp. of puréed meat and veggies at 1:30 then protein shake at 4:30... Been drinking liquids since then and around 7 I finally felt hunger grumbled in my tummy, but I'm scared that I should feel hungry at all!!! Is this normal at my stage???

@tbaby.... They tolde to drink what I can and each day I seem to be able to get more in!!! I had my surgery on the 13th and I'm up to drinking 40 oz a day... It gets easier as time goes on! Today I had my Dr. Visit for 1 week post op and I am down 3 lbs. !!! I know it's not a lot but I'm happy with it!

I gained OVER 20 lbs. after surgery from the IV fluids. Surgery was last Wednesday and today I am actually 1 lb. less than pre-surgery!!! So you do loose it quickly...don't worry! Pre-surgery:210.5 Post-op:224 1wk p/o: 209.5

WoW !!! I dont know about anyone else but 23 pounds in 1 month is amazing! I wouldnt count that as a slow looser! I think you are doing excellent, Keep up the good work!!

Thanks everyone !! I was really worried! Other than that, I'm getting better with less pain every day! It might also be because I still have not farted ever!!! My dr. Said it was ok and finally last night I had a bm!!! I was so happy!!! But I do burp every time I drink something

OMG !!!!! So I had my gastric bypass last Wednesday the 13th, they released me from the hospital yesterday afternoon. Well, I knew I gained some weight because I look like the an over filled sausage !!! They told me it was due to all the fluids they have me in my IV .... Well I hopped on the scale and I almost had a heart attack... I'm 20 lbs heavier then when I had my surgery !!! Is this normal ??? If so does it go away quickly??? I'm freaking out here!

@mfee08... My surgery is on Wed as well!!! AFM- i am feeling good as new from being sick yesterday, all ready for my surgery!!!

Well surgery in 2 days... Got some sort of bug yesterday. Woke up yesterday to a fever, body ache and bad diarrhea. Feeling better today, fever and body aches gone! Hopefully I will be 100% by tomorrow!!! I really don't want to have to reschedule my surgery!

I am getting ready to have my surgery on the 13th... I cannot take any birth control with hormones due to a health condition so that rules out a lot of my options for BC... We have been using condoms and vaginal spermicide suppositories together and not having sex during my fertile phase... I hope that is enough to keep me from getting pg! I too tried depo 14 years ago after my first son was born. At the time I was a size 4-6... Six months later I had ballooned to a size 16!! So never again will I ever take depo

Am I the only one who has a Dr. And nut that says No fruit for the first year???

@thatgirl... I'm am 32 as well but will turn 33 end of April ! Good luck ! Hope everything goes as planned for both of us! Only 7 more days till my surgery and I can't wait!
