Does your DH or SO know how much you weigh?
My DH knows and always have. I am now less overweight than he is - for the first time since we got married!! He now wants to lose 45# and I need 35# to be at goal :grouphug: I never passed him on weight but he is a foot taller than me. I think he knows my weight better than me. When I think of my weight I automatically add 20# to the number because my head just hasn't caught up with the scale yet. Then I think about it and realize that I was wrong again.

Salad?
The whole point of the soft foods is that your stomach won't have to churn so much to break it down. I think salad probably isn't included in the soft foods. I ate tons of mashed potatoes and Soups during that faze. Also slim fasts, yogurts, etc. How much longer are you supposed to be on soft foods?

Is your Doctor aggressive????
I do wish Dr Spivak was a bit more aggressive in the fills. I drive 4.5 hours to see him and I really don't want to do that often. I get it as tight as they will do it; I have to drink Water and sometimes eat applesauce for them before they will let me go. Because of the distance I also get Omnipak inserted instead of Fluid since it is thicker. It tends to stick around longer.

How long until mushies?
I did one week of liquids, and 3 weeks of soft foods. The only meat I was allowed was tuna. I could get my first fill at 4 weeks (which I did) - two more days of soft food then on to solids. Every doc is sooooo different. They are just going with their experience and what they think is best. Good luck Justin - this too shall pass  wombat

Multi Vitamins
I take the Vitaband ones from Bariatric Advantage. They taste ok - I've only tried the watermelon flavor. It's a 90day bottle so I'll be ordering the lemon flavor next time. I also take a Viactiv Calcium chew - yummmmm

New forum
Hey I'm 37 (soon going into 38), married 16 years, son 14, daughter 10 and 3 dogs  I live in the DFW area as well (hey y'all) I was banded 6/25 and have lost just over 50#. My goal is to weigh 120 (I think - maybe less). I look back at High School pictures and think of how miserable I was then thinking I was so fat. OMG - I would kill to look like that now!!! Oh well - I'm wearing a size 12 now and I haven't done that since before I got married woohoo!!!!!! wombat

Mini-Goal reached !!!!
AMAZING!!!!!! Congrats DAVE!!!

How this works ???
I've got about 35# to go. I would think it is in what you have left. Our bodies slow down (darnit) and it becomes harder to lose the closer you get.

June 2007 Bandsters
Hey Junies!! It's a NEW year and we can recommit again to our bands!! I have lost 5 pounds in 2 1/2 months. I was losing 10 pounds a month and then BAM!! It is frustrating and I was eating around the band. I really cannot eat breakfast anymore so I have to drink it. I was thinking I was that tight all the time and was really going after the soft foods all day long (BAD idea!). So I'm trying to be good again and I've started jogging (couch to 5K) and now I've started some strength training as well. I'm still not losing but I have taken measurements. I watch all of the Biggest Loser shows, and the National Body Challenge shows, Big Medicine, etc. I am trying to motivate myself (and my family). We CAN do this!!!!!!!!!! {{hugs}} wombat

What is Perfect Restriction
kbinaz - it will come. You just have to go and get fills. They can't just sinch you all the way up because you swell a bit as well. If they did you would close off and have to have some removed. It takes time - sorry to say it. And then, once you get it you start losing more weight, it will losen up again because of less fat around your tummy. I thank God that it is adjustable so that we can always get it just where we need it.

Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?
I finished an extra day of Week 1 workout yesterday. I wanted to get back on track for Tues/Thurs/Sat runs. I'm ready for week 2!!!!! Mindy - how far does the treadmill show that you are getting after the whole workout? I'm on a track so I don't know about the speed. I'm making 6 laps which I'm guessing is 1 1/2 miles. I'm really slow - also I'm only 5' 0" so I have a really short stride to go with it.

Lower BMI'ers--2008!!!
"Everyone is always afraid the lap band won't work for them. I know I sure was. I am a slow loser. I was disappointed that I wasn't losing as fast as some of the other people on this board." Denise - I thought the very same thing! What I realized is that all these tickers get updated when you update your weight. So I was seeing old posts where they've barely been banded and they showed that they had already lost 50 pounds!!!!! I kept thinking WHAT am I doing wrong to not get the same results - duh! I now put my weigh date in my signature so hopefully it won't confuse other newbies

How did you deal with thoughts of failure?
lol Ghost - no gagging here  I believe what you say is true. We have to believe and have faith that we can do it. We start sabotaging our efforts because we fear success - whether it's career, relationships, weight or whatever. I'm not into "positive thinking" on it's own but I do believe that keeping your mentality focused on what you CAN do rather than what you CANNOT do makes a big difference on your attitude. Those visual techniques of seeing yourself at your goal (in your mind) helps as well. hmmmm, I think I'm rambling and repeating myself  wombat

I did it! I DID IT! I did it!!
BooBooKitty - do you eat 1/2 cup of meat only or do you have some veggie to go with it? Thanks for your response too  I will start measuring and stopping no matter what. No more snacking in between either - it would be a great time for me to actually drink some Water (I fail miserably in this area daily!)
