1. March 14, 2013 I had my gastric bypass. I weighed 318. Today I am at 219. I still have a ways to go to reach my goal of 170. I go to the gym 5/6 days a week. And most of all I now have the energy to keep up with my teenage kids!!! God is good

5. All the aromas of meat stink!!! My family is constantly cooking and everything that use to make my mouth water makes me gag... My family finds it hilarious that I smell everything and that I find something wrong with it!!!! Is this normal??? and my taste is off a lot of things taste gross. Tell me this is going to change. All in all this is my only complaint... Had surgery exactly one week ago.
6. I had my surgery exactly a week ago and mines lasted from 2:18pm-10:30pm....I was told it would be a 4hour procedure but my Surgeon stated when closing me up I kept Oozing where my staples went into my abdomen(the six incisions) yeah so he took them out and hand sewn every stitch which was time consuming...needless to say I'm quite pleased because now my incisions are even tinier than the staples would have been and knock on wood there has been no problems.... I am thankful for Dr. REARDON at The Methodist Hospital in Houston Texas in the medical center and the ENTIRE SURGICAL TEAM!!!

10. Yall are so amazing and I needed those words of encouragement. I must say I did let the pickle situation go and moved on*_* im finding that as the days go by the hunger situation is getting better and im not even that hungry. So I guess it does get better....I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Its remarkable that even though family and friends may not get it there is a community of amazing people who do care!!!! And as far as chewing and spitting never would have thought of it ...Now im smiling bigger than ever and continuing with my journey. Surgery will be on 3/14/2013!!! Yaaaaaahhhhh
11. Today is day 3 of my pre op liquid diet and the first two days I was so miserable and I cheated by snacking on frigging pickles so I felt like I was chewing something.... How pathetic am I. But I'm over it and today is a new day and I'm determined to get through the next 11days with no more distractions.... I keep looking at my sz 10jeans(I pray I get into these) as a motivation with my kids pictures next to them... I have to do this for all of us!!!! I must say I found the key to drinking a shake followed by another 9oz of broth.. Most of the time I can't finish the broth cause I'm fat full... Then I'm happy again and I feel like I don't have to cheat.... Does anyone have any ideas on how to mix my powdered soups with out having the nasty clumps in them?? Thanks and I love this site!!!! So supportive *-*
