I haven't been able to find the Atkins meals in my grocery stores yet but I've been loving the Smart Ones, there's a few really tasty ones that are quite high in Protein, and they're the perfect portion.

Right? I loved them, I still think about them all the time!! I've never had any surgeries or medical procedures done before so I was kind of nervous, but they were fantastic. I'm feeling good, no complaints really, I've been quite lucky. and you?

December 2012 Post Op Group
Today was kind of a crummy day. Had to wake up extra early for a few Dr. appointments. Since apparently your fertility sky rockets post surgery I decided to get the IUD birth control since it lasts up to 5 years. I'm still in Grad school so the hubs and I wanted to put off starting a family for a few more years anyway. Do any of you out there have the Mirena? Oh my goodness...I was NOT expecting it to be so painful when she put it in!! I cried out "Well, now I know I'm not ready to have a baby!" Hahahah she got a kick out of that. Anyway, the discomfort pretty much lingered throughout the day and felt like wicked intense menstrual symptoms (sorry to the gentlemen on this thread!!) Tried to nap this afternoon before class since I didn't have to work today, but didn't end up happening. Had class from 5-10pm, and it was one of those nights that draaaaagged. I also forgot to pack my dinner so when I got to class and went to take out my dinner I realized I had forgotten it so I had to dig around for change and get something out of the vending machine...yuck! I was able to find some hummus chips that are relatively healthy, but pretty scarce on the protein side. The dining hall at my University is also seriously lacking in the healthy options which is a bummer. Anyway, I can't believe I'm still awake at almost midnight considering how tired I've been today. I intend to sleep in tomorrow, and since we're supposed to be getting a big snow storm here in the Northeast I may not even leave my pajamas! Thanks for letting me vent, ya'll.

Surgery and TOM
I was lucky enough to get mine the morning of, too. They have me the hospital undies & I had to wear what felt like diaper sized pads but they said its common and they don't think about it.

Pics not much Difference
Oh yeah! In your neck and chest and upper stomach you can definitely tell!! Congrats!

Dumping syndrome.
I'm 6 weeks out and (luckily, thankfully) have never experienced dumping. Only about 50% of people do. It's a blessing & a curse because it makes you feel invincible. You will inevitably feel discomfort at some point, we all have, but like my nutritionist told me-- just consider yourself one of the lucky ones

- Superbowl Snacks
I made this high Protein, low fat, low carb, low calorie dip for Super Bowl Sunday and it's a hit!! Recipe is: 8oz Fat Free Cream cheese 1 Can 98% Fat Free Turkey Chili 1-2 cups Shredded cheese (try to use 2% or low fat) Layer cream cheese then chili then shredded cheese in a pie pan, bake at 350 for 20-30 mins. Ooey, gooey deliciousness- POPCORN!
You're allowed whole grains?? Like what?? I'm allowed non sugary cold Cereal if it's soaked in milk, but otherwise no grains.- POPCORN!
I never pureed anything either. Well once I pureed some turkey with a little mustard but it was awful. I just ate soft foods and chewed till I couldn't chew any more tsxo- sometimes eating is uncomfortable and I don't always want to, but generally no discomfort. How far out are you?- 30 minute rule
Oh so I'm not the only one?! I agree, this is definitely hard. I sometimes sneak a small sip of water just to rinse my mouth, especially if I'm eating something with a lot of flavor. I hope it gets easier!- What ya eating tonight?
RNY friends- I have to share a fun new food product I stumbled on today! They're called Coco Pop Cakes, and they're so yummy! They're like a rice cake, sort of, but they're airy and flavorful. They have pretty much no nutritional value (1g protein, 4g carbs, 0g fat each) but they provide an excellent crunch & they're a good vehicle for spreading on laughing cow cheese (or FF cream cheese), fruit preserves, or plain. On their website www.cocofoods.com you can find where they're sold and there are recipe ideas. You can buy online too, but in bulk. I hope you're all abe to find these because they are wonderful for when you need bread or crunch, but they dissolve like a cheeto without the guilt!- December 2012 Post Op Group

Oh my gosh and hour & 45 mins! woah baby!! haha. I think I'm going to try 30 mins cardio (treadmill) and 30 mins weights. A couple years ago I was in an Aerobics class that did a mixture f Turbo Kick, Zumba, and Step exercises and I love it, but the gym I belong to (Planet Fitness) doesn't offer group classes so it's all on me now to make sure I do it right! Best of luck with a speedy recovery, Gen! You'll get back on that treadmill soon enough- December 2012 Post Op Group
What kind of exercises do you all do? I've only done walking 30 mins a couple times a week but my doc just cleared me for all exercising. It's never been my strong area so I wondered what others do and how often? Also, recently my muscles feel weak after exercising, have others experienced this? - Superbowl Snacks
