Nervous Nellie! Surgery on july 23
I am a very nervous person and I decided to do meditation exercises for successful surgery. I just went online and downloaded two meditations for successful surgery and listened to them every night before bed. I was freakishly CALM before surgery, it was a little spooky! I highly recommend it, surgery was a breeze!

June Post Ops!
Teacher here too. Won't know what my schedule looks like till I walk in the door in August. So I have no idea how its gonna work. Especially all the morning stuff, the vitamins, Pepcid, gallbladder med, supplements, protein shake....yech. Also I've been taking a mid morning walk as well as the gym in the late afternoon. Walking makes me feel so much better. And my school is nothing less than a clusterf#*% of an institution, so all that stress on top of it. Relishing every moment of this summer!

June Post Ops!
Sounds like a lot of us Junies are having the same troubles. I read about this thing called hibernation syndrome ...lethargic, depressed, starvation mode, and the body needs to learn to use the fat as energy. I read that it's really important to exercise to help your body adjust. Honestly I don't understand any of it technically but I do know that I feel really blech.

What ya eating tonight?
4 oz of crab chowder and 1/8 avocado.

Never thought I would say this....I'm tired of eating.
I'm right there with you. I hear it will pass. I hope so.

June Post Ops!
Ok I'm there. 2.5 weeks out and I just wish that I didn't ever have to eat at all. Nothing tastes right and everything makes me feel blechy.

Why no water with meals?

First day of 'real' food! I had two veggie meatballs (1 ounce) with a teaspoon of pesto sauce and a spoonful of red sauce. Delicious! But I ate too fast and felt stuck, walked around and now I'm ok. Gonna start timing my ounces...my nutritionist said 3 oz of protein should take 20 to 30 minutes. I definitely chowed it too quickly!- What ya eating tonight?

I don't mind cold food. I was one of those who would eat cold lasagne right out of the fridge! Someone else posted about those little mini heating surfaces for coffee cups? That sounded like a great idea to me!- What ya eating tonight?
Maybe you would if you stretched it over a couple hours like I did!- What ya eating tonight?
5 oz of blended shrimp chowder with 1/2 scoop unflavored Unjury and 1/4 cup cottage cheese with chives. I can't get enough savory stuff....soooo done with sweets! Never thought I'd feel that way!- Destroyed my life
Funny, the program I had my surgery from actually led with the surgery complications and mortality statistics both from their practice and nation wide. The hospital I had my surgery in started doing them in the 70's so they had years worth of data. The initial information session was extremely sobering, and I was grateful for the information.- What? Sugar Free Oreos?
They have malitol as the sweetener, which can really irritate even the healthiest most normal digestive system. Use in moderation!- June surgeries!

I have that pill too. The liquid version is beyond horrible. I have a pill splitter and I break it into 4 pieces and I sand down the sharp edges with paper towel before I swallow each piece. Weird I know, but I'd do just about anything to not have to take it in liquid form!- June Post Ops!
Im so sorry about the troubles people are having. I feel very blessed that for me, so far, recovery has been good. I have lost 42 lbs, 28 of those before surgery and I am almost 2 weeks post op. Here's my fav protein drink: 1 scoop Unjury chocolate (20 g prot), 1 cup unsweetened soy milk (7gr), 2 T PB2 powder (5g prot), 4 oz H2O, a squirt of vanilla sugar free syrup and a squirt of chocolate sug free syrup. Over ice, just like a Reese's and not too sweet. I try to have 2 of those, sometimes w/ just water b/ c if its too thick it's blech to me. Big hugs to all the losers!- Craving salad
What about vegetables in general?- Regret...need help! ! !
Get a therapist who works with eating and weight issues. You don't have food anymore, it's gone. So any feelings, pain, desires....it's all out there now! No more food comfort! Now you have to deal with all your emotional s#%t. I know it seems harsh but it's true.- June surgeries!

Yes, I use it frequently. It's not sweet at all so I add Splenda or torani. I like it in shakes and in Greek yogurt.- Peanut Butter Question
PB2 is very nice in yogurt. Very intense peanut taste, and you can add Splenda so it's a little milder.- June surgeries!

I had the same issue with the capsules...is that what you're using? I called my doc and he prescribed me a tablet version that I could split in quarters and swallow with a sip of liquid. Changed everything. The only time I have been sick was from taking that godawful capsule powder. - What ya eating tonight?
