  1. That's really impressive! Congratulations on your successful journey!! Reading your post has really inspired me this morning. I was sleeved just last month on Jan. 16th 2018. I started my journey at over 400lbs. So far im down 42lbs. I've been battling with my head trying to stay focused & deal with the different food stages as well. I'm currently on a puree diet & getting in an hour minimum of walking each day. I'm very motivated to learn & live a healthier life! Do you have any advice that you could give to a newbie? Protein Powders

I'm curious too know as well! I've been struggling with drinking the protein shakes & I'm not currently getting enough protein. I'd love to find out other ways to meet the protein requirements. Sent from my LGMS550 using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I had my gastric sleeve on January 16th. I've been healing good. I recently starting doing more & being more active. My girlfriend is currently pregnant & due Feb. 22nd. We have a three year old & a one year old. Our household stays pretty busy & I've recently been getting back into our busy daily routine. We added in an hour of walking each day for exercise. The last two days I'm suddenly feeling a kind of sharp pain in my stomach. I feel it consistantly & it gets sharper any time I bend over. My stitches all look fine. But my girlfriend pointed out a sort of "bulge" in my lower right side of my stomach. Its just under the area that is hurting. I think maybe I've just been doing too much too soon. But I'm kind of worried now... Has anyone had this happen before? Should I be concerned? Sent from my LGMS550 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Carbonated beverages

I like the crystal light flavors. I put water bottles full into the freezer for a few hours to turn slush. Its a nice change Sent from my LGMS550 using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. I'm on day 4 of the 10 day liquid pre op diet! I feel like I'm doing really well so far. I don't feel nearly as bad as I thought I would. But cravings are still pretty strong. I'm working on learning how to better control my cravings. My girlfriend & I had discussed & planned for the whole family to start eating healthier. Before I started the liquid diet we cleaned our house out of any junk food & I was really excited for the support! The first few days we had all of our meals together, it didnt bother me to have a protein shake instead of their home cooked meals. Day 3 of my liquid diet comes around & on our way home from running errands, she pulls into fast food drive thru for her & the kids. I get handed their meals to hold in the car while she drives. Then we get home & when they sit down to eat I went into the restroom because I felt like crying. I came out afterwards & made my shake for dinner. Well it started an argument, I guess its not fair of me to ask them to eat out without me around. My girlfriend thinks Im selfish to expect them not to eat out when we are having busy days. My only request is for me to not be around to witness it!! I dont think its a huge request. Now I feel bad as if I'm making life difficult for my family. I knew the changes would be hard. I can't expect my family to completely change, But I had just hoped for more understanding & support. Can anyone relate? How would you react? Any advice or tips are helpful. 7. Im on the same stage. So far I've tried yogurt, scrambled eggs, string cheese, smoothies & incorporated the protein drinks in. I also tried a cambells soup that I blended up. Each day I try to explore something new. Good luck! Sent from my LGMS550 using BariatricPal mobile app

  11. Im five days post op & I seem to have a white film on my tongue. I've brushed a lot & rinsed my mouth. Ive searched google thinking It was possibly Thrush. But I read a lot of articles saying that a white tonvue can be part of ketosis & will go away soon. Has anyone experienced this? Should I be concerned? 13. I'm 9 days post op & I feel like I'm losing my mind. After surgery my taste buds changed & now I can barely stand the shakes. Broth is difficult to take in because it upsets my stomach. At least I can drink water just fine!! I'm supposed to drink three shakes a day & I'm struggling to get through two a day. I was so ready & confident for this surgery. I knew my life was going to change for the better & I've been preparing for it for months! But today I woke up second guessing myself... I feel like maybe I got in over my head. I dont feel good & I'm always tired. Luckily I don't have food cravings any more since surgery, but I can't help feeling like I'm so over drinking only liquids lol. I feel like I'm losing hope in myself today. Maybe it's just because Im having an off day... I really hope that I feel back to my normal motivated self tomorrow!! Has anyone else felt like this? Any January 2018 Sleevers?

I just had surgery on January 16th!! Everything is going good so far. My pain level is going down a bit each day. The stomach binder makes me feel the most comfortable. Most of my incisions are pain free except for the right side. Im doing well at getting in my liquids & protein shakes. But I still need to work on increasing amounts to reach goal! Each day is getting easier. Sent from my LGMS550 using BariatricPal mobile app
