  1. How long did everyone sleep with there head elevated after surgery? I remember my nut telling me to sleep with 2-3 pillows behind my head or in the recliner, but don't remember for how long. I am one that normally doesn't sleep with a pillow and I am sick of the recliner! I am 1.5 week post op.
  2. Surgery date : 1/29/13 Highest weight - 280 Surgery weight - 266.8 Week 1 - 262.2 I have been getting my fluids in but only able to eat 80-300 calories a day and not reaching my protein. Next week I star soft foods and I know I will have an easier time with calories and protein than now. I didn't mind the shakes prior to surgery, but now I can't stand them. Can't wait to have some refried beans and chicken.
  3. I am with you!!! Anyone who says this is the easy way out I would like to smack!!! You still have to fight food cravings and follow a healthy diet. Not to include exercise.
  4. I am also worried now that i might have stretched my pouch with all the fluid I have been drinking. Since normally I am only able to eat a couple bites of soup.
  5. I am a little over a week post op and gave in! I opened a can of mini raviolis and ate 4 with maybe an ounce of sauce. I made sure to cut each up into tiny pieces and chew till nothing was left. I am very disappointed and also shocked at how much I was able to eat.
  6. I have been making the stuff off of the food network and have been informed to stick to the basics!!! I guess my man is more of a meat potato man. I have a hate/love relations ship with making dinner every night.
  7. I am with you, I would love new ideas!!! I have been puréeing canned soups.
  8. Purée clam chowder!!! Still liquid diet here ;( made spaghetti for the family.
  9. I really miss the spices and texture. Only one more week before I can have something more than purée food.
  10. While I can't tell you gets any better, (I am only 1 week post). I can tell you we are all here for you, and to just take it a day at a time and look how far you have come.
  11. I keep finding myself watching the food network!!!! I sooooo can't wait to be off of this liquid diet and on to some soft food that I can actually chew!!!!
  12. Lol, my fiancé always makes a production and puts four folds for my undies!!!!
  13. Yeah!! Can't wait!! Love egg drop
  14. I have lost 1 pound since my surgery 1/29/13. Not including all the water weight.
  15. I am fine from the fall. Just shocked that it happened. I probably overdid it. When I got home I ended up taking a 3 hour nap. Having a hard time not being independent. So far today I have got 8 ounces of Greek yogurt, 46 ounces of water, and 12 grams of protein. Still have to get my last dose of calcium in.
  16. Slept most of today and didn't get much food fluid in. Let alone any protein. Got weak today when I was holding the door open at a store I fell. Been having my fiancé drive me to local stores so I can walk.
  17. I had mine on 29th. Having hard time getting my flood/fluids/protein. How long did it take everyone to meet all three.
  18. I am on them for 30 days post surgery as a pre caution.
  19. Having a hard time getting my fluids in let alone anything else. Happy to be home though. At least I got some good sleep last night.
  20. Quinnesec. Michigan. Surgery in Marquette mi. Dr.Soto
  21. I keep napping on and off. Best friend went to stay in the hospitality room, fiancé went home along with parents. Pain and nausea doing much better. Thanks everyone for your support!!!
  22. Thanks everyone. Have peed, walked, and sipped. Pain tolerable, nausea was worse. Going to take another nap.
  23. Mine is also less than 24 hours away. I am scared, nervous, and excited!!! I kept worrying that something is going to happen and I will leave my son without a mother. But on the other hand know that without this surgery my health will start to decline. I have pcos and if dont change things soon will end up being diabetic, have hypertension, and more health issues. I just can't wait to be done with the surgery and starting a healthier life.
  24. Stop taking any fish oil, multi oil, birth control, Motrin, and anything else then thins your blood. Those where all the meds I had to stop.
