I don't think it matters what type of phone we have as long as we all have a texting program. I text a lot of people who have iphones. I am just not sure you all want to be texting the grandma of the bunch. In my defense I am young at heart. Janel

Whoop Whoop you go girl. You can do it !!!! I Start my liquid for 11 days starting on Monday morning, No food what so ever just six 8 oz shakes a day. I am allowed to add fruit as long as it is completely liquefied for the first 6 days.

Where do you get them from and how much are they? Could you post the link for us all

Mayo's choice of liquid diet is optifast. I have to go back and pick it up tomorrow, but they said no appetite suppressants. I can have 5 shakes a day. They didn't say anything about sf jello or soups or anything else. After reading everything on here I am so afraid I am going to be cheating left and right. I start the diet March 3rd and have to go until March 15th.

Everything is a GO!!! Only one small scare my EKG was abnormal and showed a few blips. But because I was completely checked out in late 2011 they cleared me. I start my optifast the morning of March 3rd and Surgery March 15. Whoohoo !!!!

Very nervous, on my way now for my preoperative tests, meeting with all the doctor's, bloodwork and the script for the liquid diet. I'll give an update at the end of my 10 hour ordeal. Its realistic now.

I am doing good the past two days really haven't felt like eating Breakfast or lunch. I have drank my energy drinks (Zipfizz). It gives me all of my vitamins t that I would get from eating. I guess its my preparation for the liquid diet that is quickly approaching. Mayo doctor said the zipfizz will still be a very good drink to have every day just because of it's vitamin content after surgery. Just wish Wal-Mart had more flavors.

I feel I have to clear something up. I say I fibbed my way through nutritional classes but I did not. I was told to maintain and not to loose any weight and not to switch over my diet. Mayo is very strict and would not allow me to have surgery if I was not ready. I have not had to chew food to be like applesauce. I've only been told to make peices smaller then the nail on my pinky finger. I feel as thought I've cheated somehow but I have followed every doctor's order to the letter and beyond.

Thank you everyone. It will work for all stages except 2. My sister in law had the surgery 1.5 years ago and is now beginning to put the weight back on and I've noticed she never got her portion sizes right to begin with. I am not letting that happen. This helps me and my husband learn using multiple plates but we cant over feed me.

I did have to agree to my granddaughter eating with me on them, since she and her mom are staying with us until April 1st. Just a crazy Idea to make it fun for me and easy on others caring for me.

My surgery is set for March 15th and while walking through a second hand shop I saw achildren's tea set that I wanted for my granddaughter. I bought it and had to return to buy my own set since we ( grand daughter and I) plan on me using them after my surgery. Ok I think I will shoot for a last Lunch/Supper it fits better into a preoperative meal. But I will take suggestions on what to have for a big bang out. This is what I searched to see the menues "Be Our Guest Restaurant Lunch - New Fantasyland - Magic Kingdom"
