  1. I am 5.5 1/2 and 213. My BMI is 35. I have sleep apnea, cholesterol, herniated discs, s1 fracture, sciatica, gerd, and asthma. I qualified but was told to not lose any weight, so I have been up and down for a few months.
  2. I am scheduled for RNY Valentines Day, as well. I do a pre-op on Feb 5 and meet with the nutritionist for the 3rd time, but I don't know if I will be required to do a liquid diet. Just keep your eye in the prize and if u slip up, brush it off and carry on! You will do fine.
  3. Good luck, sending prayers for a speedy recovery and little gas pains! Lol
  4. It feels so good to finally see my name listed!! Thanks for starting our Feb thread and keeping the list updated. I was not brave enough to start it nor think I could keep up with the list. Thank you, thank you!!
  5. I have tricare prime remote and was not required to do any diet. I was required by the nurse advocate to call insurance and fill out a questionnaire on the requirements. who I spoke to. Date and time. My BMI is 35.2 sleep apnea. High cholesterol. Hernited discs. S1 fracture.arthritis. fibromyalgia. Gerd. Hernia etc. I am only 45 and feel like I sm 75!! Call directly and look online at the coverage.
  6. Yes it will be! Pre-op Feb 5, surgeon again Feb 8th! Don't know of any pre-op diet yet, but assuming that my BMI is just at 35.2 they may not have me do it.
  7. Worm, u look amazing. Great photo
  8. I have tricare prime and assume someone coded incorrectly!
  9. My surgery is 2/14 and preop is 2/8 @ 8am and said to expect most of the day. I know it shows X-rays , blood work, EKG again, nutritionist again.
  10. I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea 8 yrs ago, had nasal surgery, tonsils and upper pallet/tongue shaved down. After all of that my apnea was worse! I wore a full face mask for yrs because I sleep with my mouth open. I was fitted with a mouth guard 1.5 yrs ago and it was the greatest device ever! It took some work finding a doctor approved with Tricare Ins, but it was worth it. Look for a doctor specializing in TMJ, sleep disorders and headaches. If anyone is from Columbus, OH, I used Dr Austin on Olentangy River Rd. strange but good.
  11. I get those responses a lot!! Hate it.
  12. I am February 14; Columbus, OH
  13. My date is Feb 14 Columbus OH
  14. I'm complaining inside. I work as a contractor with the Ohio National Guard and my Brigade of 2200 soldiers just returned in Sept. December would have been ideal for me to be away from the office since they will not be resetting until jan and Feb, plus hubby goes away to some army schools Jan7-24ish, but I am approved and have a date. I am grateful.
  15. Finally got the call, surgery is Feb 14, 2013!
  16. Columbus, OH here. Waiting on my date. MT Carmel West, Dr Price.
  17. I Have tricare and I researched the Bariatric programs in my area (Columbus, OH) then looked on the provider website for each Dr in the group to see which ones were covered. There were 3 in the group and one was covered.
  18. Usually the dr, hospital or whoever is needing paid did not code it properly or they try to get u to pay the difference that Tricare doesn't. They are to accept the contracted pay amount that the hospital or Dr's have already agreed upon. They cannot bill u.
  19. I started my journey in July at the first required 2hr WLS brief. Did all the pre-certifications ins required (minus diet), submitted Nov 4 an approved Nov 27. Still waiting for the dr office to call with a date. Have made 3 calls to follow up and she tells me that the dr is booked into thru Jan. I beg her to see if he will squeeze me in cuz my husband leaves for school Jan 7- jan 31. I will have to wait till Feb if he won't. I will call again 2morrow, since the wait is killing me. I worked so hard to get this done quickly and this slow pace from the office is making me crazy.
  20. Good luck and keep us posted. You are entering the losing side. How blessed you are!
  21. NickyRenee, Your post made me just laugh! I am waiting on a surgery date and just hearing about the hospital gowns made me chuckle. Hope u get home soon. Good luck on your new life!
