i was told that on the clear liquid diet that if you can see threw it at room temp. then its ok. and i asked about the protein mix and they said no until full liquids. im aslo writing down question as i think of them, if not i wont remember them in the morning.haha they called me and told me to be there at 9am so its going to be a long morning with nothing to drink. its funny how every doctor is differnt. i had to start a clear liquid diet this morning and take some fleet soda stuff to clean me out at 2pm. which is nasty to drink. i hope i got everything i need for when i get home. if not wal-mart is like 5 blocks down the road and the wife will be here. :smile2: i will check back in later.

thanks nmydash and alabamagirl! well i took the fleet like they told me to. 3 tbsp. and i mixed it with some cranberry juice (nsa) like di told me to do. and it was still nasty. im sorry for anyone that has to drink that stuff. i hate to see what it taste like with out the juice. but i will have to say it hasnt been that bad since i took it. but it is working. i have been trying to drink all that i can also. so far i have drunk 3 16oz glasses of tea with splenda,24oz of broth and chicken noodle soup broth togather, and about 3 20oz bottles of water. oh and one popsiclie (nsa) fat free. trying to decide if i want some chicken noodle soup broth our some jello for dinner. lol yes alabamagirl go and try some more mask. that might help. and i got my surgery time. i got to be there at 9am. i wish it was earlier, but i will take it. just means it will be late when i get home. at least i get to take my son to school and my daughter to my moms before i go.

momcof3, how you doing? i hope everythng gos great for you. i guess we can take this togather and see how will do since we are getting banded the sameday. hows your liquid diet going today? by the way i tried out tea with splenda this morning not bad at all. and wife likes it to. and im drinking some chicken broth mixed with the broth from chicken noodle Soup. i figured it will go farther if i mixed the two togather, and its not bad. well i got alittle under 4 hours until i have to take the fleet. so im going to run to walmart and get a few things i forgot to get. like gas-x and so on. i will check in later.

hello, my name is jason. im going to be banded on the 26 of august. 3 days to go. i cant wait. i live in attalla, alabama. my band doctor is dr. miles @ st.vincents east. im very heppy with him and his staff of other doctors. dr.miles was the first one to do the lap band in alabama. and has done over 450 to this day. he is also a realize band doctor. which im hoping to be getting. i spend most of my time on the alabama section. but im need to visist here more. i seen there was one more parson from alabama getting banded the 26th. where are you from and whos doing it? i cant wait but im scared at the same time. i will take any helpful hints and tips you want to give. thanks jason r

well it looks like everyone is moving along nice. i went and got my soda for my bowel cleaning (not looking for this). but it just means im getting closer when that day comes. includung today 5 more days. i stocked up on soup last night and a few other things. well back to work. everyone had a great day.

thats great crazgril! aprilapple- just the fact that the port is a better product. and the doctors perfer it now. its a 9cc band also. i was sitting here thinking i wished i could have made it to the last support group. because the next one i go to i will be up front talking to everyone about it. kind of scarey there.

well went to the preop today. so now im just waiting until monday for them to call and let me know what time to be there tuesday. everyone was very nice today. dr.miles said i will most likey get the realize band but it debends on what it looks like inside. he told me on big guys sometime the realize band is to small. im hoping not, but time will tell. he gave me all the info on the diet for the day before and to take some nice bowel cleaner (fun day). im also down 1.5 more pounds. alabamagirl- yes im getting nervous and excited. NMYDASH- thanks aprilapple goodluck with the diet, you can do it.

i know i had to take a psych eval. and i was told by dr.miles office it was because they want it done not bc/bs. but it was nothing like 4-5 hours long and most of it was paper work and pictures you have to look at. you only take to the doc at the end of the visit.

thanks for the tip fordgal88.i went and got me a few cans of it. i got to go today for my preop, so im sure they well be putting me on a diet today. aprilapple, i got bc/bs gov. and they only pay 100% for the hosptial and 50% to the surgern. so i got to pay a 300 dollar deposit today and the rest after they bill my insurance company. so your plan with bc/bs sound alot better then mine. im hoping that bc/bs will pay for the realize band. im going to ask today if i can get it. well everyone its 7 more days.

cool, so it want be long now until your day comes. it will go by fast aprilapple. i learned alot at the nutrition class. im sorry i didnt get to make it today to the support meeting. i had to work on my autox car. got to get it ready before i have the surgery.

welcome marie! im glad to see your day is coming up. i go the 26th to get my band. are you going to any support groups? if not come to the ones at st.vincents. they are great and the people there have great info to give everyone. some of the nicest people you will ever meet to.

savebygrace, it is gettting closer. and i think i got everything ready. i still got to go tuesday for my preop and to the day surgery for something. not sure what yet. but i got to be there at 11:30 then at dr.miles @ 2:00. i did go and buy some broth and a few other things last night. my wife was like thats what you are going to eat! lol i said yep. and then i got her to read my book on what i could have. NMYDASH, i will do just that. my last day at work is next friday and then i will be out for 4-6 weeks. oh and i will take any ideas or helpful info on things to do our buy before i go. thanks everyone

whens your nutrition class and preop? i done my nutrition class the 13th and i got to go to the preop the 19th.

:thumbup:congratz!!!! it will go by quick trust me. when she finally gave me my date, it was a month and half away and now its just 12 days away. and its going fast. and i think about it everyday also.

i havent been put on one yet. but when i see the doctor for my 1 week out pre op visit im sure i will be put on it then. im going to try my best not to cheat.

yes, i feel the same way.im about 13 days out from getting banded. and i also have 2 little kids and a wife that depends on me. my wife lost her mom back on feb. 8. of this year. so death is still in are mines. i have alot of r.n.'s in my family so i hear all the stories every weekends. i was thinking about writing a note to my wife, but i still dont know. i know im in great hands with dr.miles. he was the first doctor in alabama to do the lap band. and has done over 450 since then. and to this day never lost one person. so i will keep praying and trust my life to him and the lord. good luck to everyone. it want be long now.

well i went to my nut. class today. i got some great info. and it was packed. theres alot of people getting the band done. i was also glad to hear that dr.smchitt has done a realize band and dr. miles knows how to do it also. im going to try to see if i can get one. im going to try to make it to the meeting this saturday. i have a good time at the meetings. i like to listen to james talk. lol

its getting closer to time. i cant wait. but i still worry some. aprilapple, it does go by fast it seems. i guess having to go to the doctors office the 13th and the 19th makes it seem closer.

hello everyone. counting down. 25 more days to go. glad to hear that the fills went well. and crazgirl, i sent my paper work in and in about 2 weeks i got my letter in the mail. i got mine before the doctor did.
