  1. Just got back from the pcp. He said that my cold is almost gone and that I am good to go for surgery. So I have my clearence yay ! Thanks for asking. I am so excited for my surgery. I am obviously happy that it didn't interfere. I have my last pre op appointment with my surgeon tomorrow. Still don't know if I have to have a bowel cleanse. I'm glad that things are moving along. Positive vibes to you all!
  2. Blessings to us all on our journeys and extra prayers to those going in today
  3. I made it through day 1 of my liquid diet only 6 more to go. I'm missing real food already! It's totally mind over matter though. I was at a party with junk food galore but I stayed strong. Hopefully this next week will be easier. I don't feel weak but I do miss having something solid in my tummy.
  4. Thanks I'll have to contract my Dr. And see if I'm allowed any of that because I have one week to surgery they want me not to take herbal supplements or medication other than Tylenol. I really appreciate all your well wishes. I hope you all have great success and stay well on your journey too!
  5. So I have a stuffy/ runny nose with a headache and starting a bit of a sore throat. I have to get bloodwork Tuesday if my cold shows in my blood work like an elevated white blood cell count would they postpone my surgery?
  6. Do you know where the better gyms are in the area? Ive moved from the city to Finleyville and I'm not sure if I join one what one to join. When is your surgery?
  7. I'll be going in sept 10. I'm so excited. I feel super comfortable with my Dr. He has been great and I think that robotic surgery will be a good experience. I've had c sections and my gallbladder out recovery wasn't the easiest. I'm thinking good things about the robotic surgery. Of course it's a totally different surgery but I think it will be better.
  8. One of my goals is to be able to take my kids to Disney and be able to keep up and not worry about not being able to fit on rides. Let alone the plane. I'm excited for us all!
  9. Is anyone thinking of doing YouTube episodes to let people know what's going on with your journey? I've been considering it. I have viewed many and found them helpful.
  10. Dr. Colella, I am having it done at St. Margrets. Its so nice to see some other people people from Pittsburgh. Who are your doctors?
  11. I am having mine done in Pittsburgh. I will start the liquid diet on Monday. I'm not thrilled but I will do what ever my Dr. says 100%. Thanks for the reassurance
  12. I hope I have a positive experience. I'll let you know how it goes. I guess the robotic surgery is not as popular still or maybe not so many doctors have experience with them.
  13. Is anyone else having robotic surgery? I will be having it on September 10. I am hoping that I will have a speedy recovery. I know that some benifits are faster recovery and the robots can get into smaller spaces. Just curious if there are many others having this kinds of surgery.
  14. Thanks for the heads up! I will have to check out that chicken soup stuff.
  15. I hate starting this liquid diet Monday too because I've been invited to so many holiday parties. There is also a Rib challenge this weekend. I want me some ribs!.....but I want to be able to feel my own more. I think that if we can get through the liquid pre op then we will be good to go. Right now it really is looking like one of the hardest things for me. I'm just really happy to know that I'm not alone. Nobody in my day to day life can relate to my issues right now. I have an appointment with my surgeon on Friday so maybe I will find out if I have to do the bowel cleanse. I feel like I don't know what I have to do until I'm doing it right now. A have gained so much knowledge of what I may have to do from this forum it's no joke. It has been a valuable resource.
  16. Thanks for the encouraging words! Your so right on about the pay off on the end. Fingers crossed that GNC still has Isopure buy one get half off the second. I think I better stock up.
  17. So I was under the impression my surgeon usually gives pre op diets only two days before sugery but only to some patients. I wasn't informed that I would be on one. I assumed that I probably wouldn't be on it and if I did it would be for a few days. I got paper work and I will be on one for a week. I'm not thrilled but really I have been trying to incorporate protien shakes into my day anyway. This will be a challenge because it is a liquid only diet. I feel like I can do it but because it's before surgery I can just imagine that I will be hungry all the time. So I need 3 or 4 protien shakes a day and as many low cal no more than 10 calories for 8 oz drinks with no carbs as I want. I can also do clear broth, sugar free popcicles and jello. Just wanted to let you guys that are on one your not alone.
  18. I'm sending prayers to you
  19. Thank you for sharing your experience I hope you will continue. I will be goin in on the 10 if nothing changes from now until surgery day. It is comforting to see someone sharing a positive experience. Looking forward to hearing more from you.
  20. I think that staying in a positive mindset will help with achieving my goals. I am looking forward to reducing my weight. I think you have made an interesting point about how the subconscious can prevent us from achieving goals. In this process I know I with have to switch up my thinking to stay on track.
  21. I'm happy that ur feeling good! Keep us updated on how things r going.
