  1. Where are you having your surgery?? I'm actually in Merced. Being in Ceres you know exactly where I am!! Lol My sons allstar team played a baseball tournament in Ceres a few weeks ago!!
  2. I'm in the Central Valley (Modesto area).
  3. Yea I hear ya. My youngest daughter is pretty heavy into competitive cheer and is a Lil bummed out that she's not a flyer anymore. She's 11 and is gonna be built like me. She's all, "Dad! I'm a captain not a base!!" I had to give her the "Captains do what's best for the squad" speech. Cheer Dad in full affect!!
  4. Umm IMO you are perfect!! I'm just saying... Lol
  5. I'm sorry you all are having to go through that! Thank God I'm bald! Lol
  6. That's my Tammy the Tank!! You're looking great!! Keep it up my friend!
  7. Yeah I spoke with my surgeon and the CFO of the hospital about a possible bariatric menu. Highly healthy that's tastes devine!
  8. Thanks so much! Today I don't have much of an appetite for anything so I'm forcing myself to get some calories in.
  9. Yea the smell is still lingering but I took 6 months off to recover and go shopping!! I'm pretty serious about my fashion! Lol
  10. I am 5 foot 9 or so. Not super short but definitely not tall. Lol
  11. Lol laughter is so important!! I'm from California.
  12. Have some good news and bad news guys... Good news first: I had my first full night of pain-free sleep since my surgery and to top it off my kids let me sleep past 9:00 AM!!! (Awesome!!) Now for the bad news: while I was sleeping my mother and father drive down to visit me and I awoke to the smell of one of my mothers FAMOUS BREAKFASTS!! We are both chef's and my family owns restaurants. UGH!! CURSE YOU CLEAR LIQUIDS!!! Lol that's all.. Rant over.. (As I stay locked in my room until I hear the dishwasher from Breakfast plates) Lol!!
  13. Thanks ladies! Old football name and I kinda hit like a tank and thus... Tank!! Lol
  14. We will have to keep each other updated on how we're doing. If you need support in here for you!! I'm sure I will need it too! 16 pounds is awesome!! I'm kinda curious to see where I bottom out. I was 205 when I played college ball with 5% body fat but I was HUGE!! I worked out with 305 lbs but am only 5 foot 8. I still lift but don't do much power lifting anymore. Gonna be a great journey!
  15. Thank you so much for asking!!!! Im pretty uncomfortable at the moment. Gonna take some meds and lay down for a min. I've noticed that I go through peaks and valleys in terms of my energy so I'm trying to walk in the peaks and rest in the valleys.
  16. Thank you guys so much!
  17. Long story short, I've always been a healthy guy. Division one athlete, MMA fighter, husband and father of 3. However life, compound fracture of the Right knee and ACL/MCL/PCL tear in the left equaled no more cardio and my weight got over 300 lbs. I coach high school and youth football but found that I just couldn't do much of anything due to my knees. Add hypertension and my health was in the dumps. This surgery has been the boost I need. My motivation wasn't a particular size or weight; just being healthy. I had surgery on 7/19/12 and have begun the road to a healthier - better life!
  18. Hey I'm "technically" in the Fresno area! I'm in Merced but had my surgery at the Fresno Heart and Surgical Center!
  19. Am new to the group but glad I found it! I am 6-days out of surgery and am enjoying the journey. I was hospitalized for a few days after my initial release from the hospital because of pain. Now the gas that I have is so unbearable that I can't move at times! Does this go away?? I am a day away from finishing the all liquid portion of the diet and am a bit terrified of what's to come.
